Lake Oroville Triathlon
Only 8 more days until the Lake Oroville Triathlon. It will be held on May 12, at Bidwell Marina, beginning at 9:00 AM.
All the race details are here
This is a great race for the first timer, as well as relay teams. It is a sprint distance, so even those of you that haven't quite kept up on your training volume can still finish, and have a great experiance. The swim will be 1/2 mile, in Lake Oroville, then a 12 mile bike ride on surface streets (with a couple of pretty good hills), then a 3.1 mile run on the Dan Bebee trail (single track, dirt) around the Lake.
This will make the fourth year I have done this event, the first was as part of a relay team, then the next two years I did all three legs myself. My first solo attempt I finished in 1 hour 39 minutes, 100th out of 198 participants. Last year, I finished in 1 hour 36 minutes, 98th out of 202 participants.
Hopefully, my higher level of training this year will allow me to overcome the effects of aging once more, and drop my time down to the 1 hour, 30 minutes range.
See you on Race Day!!!!!
