Second Annual Paradise Adventure Race
I just heard from my friends at Trailhead Adventures that they (along with Beyond Fitness) will be holding the second annual Run, Bike and Kayak Adventure Race in Paradise, on October 21, 2007. The event will be held at the beautiful Paradise Lake, and will be a great race venue - no traffic, beautiful scenery, and a BBQ lunch afterwards. See the detailed map and race flyer below:
Once again, our crew of "Desk Jockeys" from Town Hall/Public Works are issuing a challenge to the Public Safety folks - you know, those "young, strong, physically fit police and fire personnel". We believe that our ragtag group of desk jockeys can ONCE AGAIN beat them, both in terms of overall placement, number of teams, and individual efforts.
We have issued this challenge in the past - and most years the team of Town Hall desk jockeys have "cleaned up" the competition.
Must resist.....any comments about Barko loungers or doughnuts..............................

Stay tuned for more details as we start to sort out our teams.....
Also, if you are not up for the athletic side of thingsthis year - Jim and his crew (as well as the participants) would really appreciate it if you could help with coordinating the course activities - let me know if you would like to "volunteer". You'll get a really cool "T" shirt, lunch, and have a great time.
Here are some photo's from last years "Adventure".
Margaret on her "solo adventure"
Susan powering down the finish chute for the run.
Susan and Denise with the "Hand Off" between the run and bike

Rodney,
It went well - other than the fact that I could not keep my kayak going straight. Thanks for checking in, I'll try to get a race report up with some pictures later in the week.
By the way, Police and Fire were "no-shows", as usual.....
