The Chico Women's Club is hosting the annual Bioneers Film Series starting January 28. As usual, the Bioneers Conference featured an inspiring selection of speakers, including author Michael Pollan and activist Joanna Macy.

Pollan, along with permaculturist Brock Dolman and World Pulse Media founder Jensine Larsen are the first speakers in the film series.

My spouse attended a Bioneers lecture in Chico and was surprised/disappointed to see that most people drove to the event. Does Bioneers encourage their followers to use alternative transportation such as bicycles, buses or walking? Thanks for taking my question.

Alas, I too wish this were not so, but on a dark, cool and likely rainy Thursday night in late January the majority of folks will drive, even in Chico, even to a Bioneers lecture.

While those aren't the safest streets for biking, especially at night (no bike lanes), I agree that at the very least encouraging attendees to explore other transportation options by suggesting carpooling or having a link to the bus schedule would be especially appropriate for these events.
