Racing Web sites are out there - look hard

Cyberspace is full of information on anything you want to find — and I mean anything. I figure there’s got to be at least five Web sites for every niche in the world, though you have to search hard for some of them.

Such is the case with sprint car racing. There really isn’t the one, supply-all source for racing fans up here in the north state to get their information and gossip and all those other extras.

So here is a list of resources. Please contact me if I am missing any:

-- First off, there’s the Silver Dollar Speedway page on John Padjen’s site. This is the spot to get Feather Falls Casino Friday Night Points Series results, standings, history and press releases. John is the promoter for SDS, Placerville Speedway and the California Sprint Car Civil War Series.

Also, the site updates in real-time (well, within-a-minute time) during races. So if you’re ever not at the track but want the results as they happen, then johnpadjenmotorsports.com is your place. CLICK HERE to check it out.

-- There’s also a little site called hoseheads.com that I must admit is too cluttered for my liking. It seems to be the national site, so if you’re looking to expand your sprint car knowledge beyond Chico, it’s the place to be.

A photo from Kyle Larson’s site is on hoseheads.com and if you scroll to the bottom, you can find all sorts of press releases and articles. CLICK HERE to visit the site.

-- And Garth Moore told me about this one this afternoon, called The Skippers Party. I checked out www.theskipperpartys.net and found a comment post about this blog. So obviously, WAY TO GO SKIPPER! Whoever you are...

It looks like a Northern California site and there are all sorts of great photos from Silver Dollar, which leads me to believe that “The Skipper” is likely someone I’ve run in to before and just never knew it.

I may be new to the skippersparty.net, but I’ve got a hunch it’s going to be a great resource. Visit it by CLICKING HERE .
