Good Riddance to Bad Companies
I was dismayed last week when I heard the news about Ford and GM. It’s never a good thing when icons of American industry teeter on the edge of bankruptcy. I mean, we all grew up with GM being “number 1 And Ford in the number 2 slot. They were always there and always would be. I was sad hearing news of their potential demise.
Sunday, I went to the Pageant and watched “Who killed the Electric Car? It seems GM and Ford had a lot to do with it. Their greed—and the greed of the oil companies, along with the current administration’s obliviousness to the needs of Americans—have all worked together to make sure Americans will be choking on exhaust fumes for decades to come.
After viewing the film, all I can say is good riddance!
As I mentioned, “Who Killed the Electric Car? names all the usual suspects, but left out the most culpable: the voters. The voters are the ones who keep returning the same corporate whores to Congress every two years.
In our own Second district, does anyone doubt that Wally Herger will be reelected? Does it matter that the man has taken money from Enron? No. Are we upset with the fact that he panders to corporate greed instead of the interests of his constituents? No. He just keeps going and going like a prostituted Energizer Bunny.
When you take your child to the doctor for an asthma attack, just remember the part you played in his illness. If you do nothing to change corporate rule in America, you’re as guilty as Ford and GM.

You went into the movie thinking GM and Ford were great, ever since childhood, they were fine and you came out hoping they will go bankrupt?
Oh my gosh, don't you know how totally shallow and gullable that makes you sound? I bet you believe everything the liberal left tells you.
Did I say they were great companies?
For the record: I believe very little of what the so-called liberal left tells me. You lose your bet.
Some people might say that the ability to change long held beliefs comes from having an open mind. Of course, one would have to have an open mind to recognize that.
I believed my spelling teacher when she told me how to spell gullible. You should have believed yours.

The point Cassandra was making seems fair to me, but then she is my daughter. You do seem to have been easily duped into believing two car manufacturers, that have contributed to so much to the success of America, suddenly became persona non grata because you watched one silly liberal propaganda movie at the Pageant. lol
Hey, if you want to wish for the ruin of these two big employers, that's your choice, but it does make you look like just another foolish liberal wacko.
Did I make any spelling errors? ; )
No errors that I can see--other than completely missing the point of the essay.
I imagine that when I lash out against gun control, the so-called liberals will be calling me a foolish conservative wacko! Thanks for reading!

"Their greed—and the greed of the oil companies, along with the current administration’s obliviousness to the needs of Americans—have all worked together to make sure Americans will be choking on exhaust fumes for decades to come."
...and you wonder why somebody might think you were far left liberal? lol
Actually I wonder how any freedom loving American could be comfortable with our country being run by and for corporations.
For the record: I'm proud to be a liberal; a real liberal. I'm proud to stand with great liberals like Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and Jesus Christ.
