It’s estimated that only 35% of the eligible voters are going to vote in November. If Democrats win back the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi will become Speaker. This position is a mere two heartbeats away from the Presidency and that should concern you, but polls show that about 60% of American’s don’t know who Nancy Pelosi is
and that implies they really don’t care. These people are what Bill O’Rielly likes to call, mall zombies. They’re out there in public places, they are seen wandering around the malls, but they’re not really cognizant of the world around them! That’s scary…but, the really scary part is the “mall zombie” vote could potentially cancel out your informed vote by a 2 to 1 margin!
On a more personal level…I have a daughter who is a registered democrat and she has bought into all the liberal propaganda junk, despite my many attempts at reason via family discussions, sibbling coercion, etc. First, let me say she’s a really sweet, kind and trusting girl. (She trusts and believes anything a liberal says) She gives money to any person in old clothes holding up a carboard sign. She feels the homeless are all victims of society and by giving money we’ll fix it. (Any of this sound remotely familiar?)
She believes white men are basically evil and have exploited everybody from indians to africans. She’s into crystals, yoga and believes inanimate objects have feelings. She talks to her car engine when it won’t start and when it finally starts, she says, “See!” Her car, her boat, etc., all have female names. She’s invested heavily into her CD collection as opposed to her other sisters and brother who’ve invested in real CDs (certificates of deposit). She’s always been rather emotional when it comes to politics, but the frustrating part is, she doesn’t ever take the time to do any research. As she explains, it’s too tedious and she doesn’t want to get “bummed out” over stuff she can’t control and doesn’t understand.
On those occassions when she brings up some liberal idea she just heard, she terminates the conversation before I can get in 2 words in on rebuttal. For instance, the other day she said right out of the blue, “War is stupid and I really, really hate George Bush!” I don’t know what prompted this because she never watches the news or reads news articles, I’m surprised she knows who Bush is! So, knowing her strong view on Bush, I decide to skip that part and went with, “Well, nobody I know likes war, but sometimes war is necessary in defense of freedom or sometimes just to keep people from killing us.” She cut me off! She just gets up and starts walking out of the living room with a mad on…. “I just don’t want to hear it! War is sick…I can’t discuss it” End of conversation. She doesn’t know who Nancy Pelosi is either. And all this makes her my vision of the consumate democratic voter.
PS There’s a little note I put up on the refrigerator that says, “Don’t forget to vote on Nov 9th Thursday”. One can only hope she will notice it. For the rest of us, we’ll cast our vote…. Tuesday.
