Celebrated American film director and screenwriter Oliver Stone is in the central province of Quang Ngai to check out the site of the infamous My Lai Massacre by US troops for a film he plans to shoot next year.
Pinkville, his fourth film about Viet Nam, focuses on the investigation into the 1968 massacre in which 504 unarmed Vietnamese civilians were killed by American soldiers. My Lai, or Son My as it is commonly known, is a small village in Quang Ngais Son Tinh District.
The US$40 million film with screenplay by Mikko Alanne will star Bruce Willis and Channing Tatum. Willis will play Army General William R.Peers who investigates the massacre.
