There are many opinions expressed about situations and there are historians who differ in perspective and analysis. This, however, is current and comes straight from the horses mouth:
Jordanian University lecturer Ibrahim Alloush recommended on Al-Jazeera television this week that suicide bombers be equipped with small nuclear bombs. According to a transcript provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Dr. Alloush said, “Whoever managed to get a martyrdom-seeker into Dimona, should consider how to get martyrdom-seekers into Dimona and elsewhere armed with non-conventional explosives – and perhaps even small nuclear bombs,” he stated. “We should think in this direction.”
(The Negev Nuclear Research Center, is located about 10 kilometers southeast of Dimona, in Israel. Dimona is the site of a suicide bombing last February that killed just one person thanks to an alert police officer.)
Mr. Ibrahim is apparently angry about the relationships America has forged in the Middle East and with his perceptions about “military, political, economic, and cultural” influences and efforts we have brought there:
“America brought the 9/11 attacks upon itself. Okay? This is a case of the chicken coming home to roost. In other words, you have brought this problem upon yourselves,” he said. “As long as America occupies the Arab homeland and the Islamic world militarily, politically, economically, and culturally, and as long as it supports the Zionist entity, it should expect something.”
Hmmm, “chickens coming home to roost”…he sounds like the American left, doesn’t he? He sounds like the terrorist apologists and sympathizers in America. Well, finehe has a right to this opinion. He doesnt have the right to call for terrorist acts to try to get his way, however. He has earned a PHD, you would think hed be smarter about achieving his vision for the Middle East.
The most interesting thing about this man is that he didnt mind coming to America to attend American universities. Apparently using our educational facilities to further his own success and ambition in life isn’t so bad. From the article:
Alloush lived for 13 years in the United States, earning graduate degrees at Ohio University and Oklahoma State University, where he earned a doctorate in economics.
Was it at these American universities that he formed opinions like this one?
Alloush also maintains that the Holocaust never took place. In 2005, Alloush said in an interview with Al-Jazeera television quoted by MEMRI, “The Holocaust is exploited to justify the Zionist policies and to justify the enemy state’s right to exist. There is evidence and scientific research proving that the Holocaust is a lie.” ** The Jordanian professor also strongly supports Osama bin Laden’s international al-Qaeda terrorist organization.
To deny the Holocaust publically is just stupid given the evidence and eye witness accounts…to advocate that the Jewish State has no right to exist is beyond all reasoning or justification given the Jewish heritage and history in the region..
No one of prominance, and certainly none of the leaders in Israel or America has ever advocated for anything remotely similar for any Arab country. This basic difference in attitude is at the heart of the ongoing discord and it is the only real barrier to a peaceful resolution.
