Berlin – 25 July 08… Barack Obama’s Berlin speech was full of rhetoric and gave no specifics. This is what many
of the 200,000 Germans thought after the 20 minute long diatribe. In his tired voice he flung clich after cliche’
while taking shots at his own country. He was frequently caught making promises without offering any details how he would accomplish them. In the part of his pseech that was about “we must tear down the walls” …where’s the plan, asked the Germans? They left the rally feeling kind of disappointed and flat. Good thing they were still serving beer and had plenty of bands to justify their trip.
NOTE: If Obama is so hot to withdraw troops now why not withdraw troops from Germany? They’ve been there since 1945 and I think we can safely say victory over Germany in now in the bag, Iraq is still pretty fresh and unstable.
