This following list (see below) is explained in part as as half-truths or misleading over at http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/50lies.asp. I encourage you to read this article and then compare the statements made to those at the SNOPES site. Between the two I believe you will find it very helpful in making your decision.
For example in the following list it says, “”My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian…” and the author replies- NOT EXACTLY, actually, grams faithfully does her daily Muslim Salat prayers at 5 a.m. every single morning,
according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn’t have allowed her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man (which she was to Obama’s African Grandfather) Obama was speaking about his maternal grandmother and the author was talking about his paternal grandparent. So there is truth on both sides, but the author’s statement painted the worst possible picture because he did define which grandparent he was talking about. I wonder does it matter which side it was or will people be swayed by his roots (from both sides)?
Obama’s alleged statements might be worth checking out in detail, before you vote….
1.) “Selma Got Me Born…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 – Selma had no effect on your birth, as the Selma march took place in 1965. (Google ‘Obama Selma’ for his full March 4, 2007 speech and articles about various untruths.)
2.) “Father Was A Goat Herder…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because actually, Obama’s dad was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.
3.) “Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter…”
– NOT EXACTLY, in fact, he was an oppressor of his own people, as part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever known.
4.) “My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom…”
– NOT EXACTLY, because in truth, your cousin Raila Odinga created mass violence in Kenya while attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007. It is the first widespread Kenyan violence in decades. The current government is pro-American but Cousin Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Obama, is Odinga’s fervent follower. In 2007 you interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to your Cousin Odinga on the phone. Odinga’s followers have burned Christians’ homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter. Obama SUPPORTED this bloody Muslim cousin.
GOOGLE “Obama and Odinga” and see what you get.
5.) “My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian…”
– NOT EXACTLY,
actually, grams faithfully does her daily Muslim Salat prayers at 5 a.m. every single morning, according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn’t have allowed her to have been one of 14 wives to 1man (which she was to Obama’s African Grandfather)
6.) “My Name ‘Barack Obama’ is African Swahili…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because your family name ‘Obama’ is Arabic and ‘Baraka’ (from which ‘Barack’ is derived) means ‘blessed’ in the Arabic language. ‘Hussain’ – your middle name – of course is Arabic, as ‘Hussain’ is a Muslim name popular with Shiite Muslims. Please note that if Barack Hussein Obama is elected, he would NOT be the “first Black American President” but instead, would actually be the first Arab-American President. Don’t believe this? Look – Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother’s side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father’s side. While Barack Hussein Obama’s father was from Kenya, his father’s family is mainly of Arab stock. Barack Hussein Obama’s father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father’s birth certificate even states that he is “Arab”, not “African Negro”).

7.) “I Never Practiced Islam…”
– NOT EXACTLY true! In fact, you practiced Islam daily at school, where you were officially registered as a Muslim and you, Barack Hussain Obama, kept that Muslim faith for 31 years, until your wife Michelle made you change, so that you could run for office here in America.
A 4-3-08 Article ‘Obama was ‘quite religious in Islam”
http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=60559
8.) “My School In Indonesia Was a Christian school…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because you were registered there as a Muslim and got in trouble in ‘Koranic Studies’ for making faces at other students (check this out in your own book).
In a New York Times article published on February 28, 2008; “Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them to me with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the Muslim call to prayer as ‘one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.'”
This is just one example of how Obama’s narrative is being altered, enhanced and manipulated by skillful media spin doctors, so as to whitewash troubling facts for the eyes of voters.
9.) “I Was Fluent In The Indonesian language…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because when interviewed, not one of your former teachers says you could speak the Indonesian language.
10.) “Because I Lived In Indonesia, I Have More Foreign Experience Than John McCain…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because you lived in Indonesia from the ages of 6 to 10, and couldn’t even speak the language. What did you learn from your Indonesian experiences, actually, was how to study the Koran and watch cartoons on Indonesian TV.
11.) “I Am Stronger On Foreign Affairs Than John McCain…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because except for Africa (surprise) and the Middle East (bigger surprise), you have never been anywhere else on the planet and thus have NO experience with our closest allies. (You especially have not visited American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, despite the fact than dozens of other Senators and Congressmen have done so over the past 4 years of the war.)
12.) “I Blame My Early Drug Use On Ethnic Confusion…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because – according to friends from those days – you were quite content in high school to be known as ‘Barry Obama’, with never a mention of Kenya, and there was no mention of any “struggle” for you to identify with American kids – your classmates said you were just fine.
13.) “An ‘Ebony magazine’ Article Moved Me To Run For Office…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because “Ebony” has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn’t, and never did, exist.
14.) “A Life Magazine Article Changed My Outlook On Life…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because an exhaustive search of “Life magazine” has yet to find the life-changing article that you mention in your book. Such an article does not, and never did, exist.
15.) “I Won’t Run On A National Ticket In ’08…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because here you are in ’08, running on the National Ticket for President of the United States, despite saying – live on Chicago TV – that you “would not have enough experience by then”, and that “you are all about having experience first”.
16.) “Voting ‘Present’ is Common In Illinois Senate…”
– NOT EXACTLY; while simply voting “present” is common for YOU, not many other members of the Illinois State Senate have a record of 130 “NO” VOTES.
17.) “Oops, I Misvoted…”
– NOT EXACTLY, because you said this only when you were caught by outraged church groups and taxpayers, did you beg to change your “misvote”.
18.) “I Was A Professor Of Law…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, actually, you were just a “senior lecturer ON LEAVE”.
That is a long way from being a “Professor”
19.) “I Was A Constitutional Lawyer…”
– NOT EXACTLY, actually, you were only a “senior lecturer ON LEAVE”. A Constitutional Lawyer plans, prepares and tries cases before the Supreme Court; something that you never did.
20.) “Without Me, There Would Be No Ethics Bill…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because you didn’t write it, didn’t introduce it, didn’t change it, nor did you create it.
21.) “The Ethics Bill Was Hard To Pass…”
– NOT EXACTLY, it took just 14 days from start to finish.
22.) “I Wrote A Tough Nuclear Bill…”
– NOT EXACTLY, your bill was rejected by your own party for its pandering and lack of all regulation – mainly because of your Nuclear donor, “Exelon Corporation”, from where that crook David Axelrod came.
23.) “I Have Released My State Records…”
– NOT EXACTLY, because as of March, 2008, any state bills that you sponsored or voted for have yet to be released, (because releasing them would expose all the special interest pork hidden within.)
24.) “I Courageously Took On The Asbestos Altgeld Gardens Mess…”
– NOT EXACTLY, in truth, you were just a small part of a large group of people who remedied Altgeld Gardens. In your books, however, you failed to mention anyone else but yourself.
25.) “My Economics Bill Will Help America…”
– NOT EXACTLY, because in truth, the 111 economic policies dreamed up for you by your small staff were simply combined into a single proposal, which lost 99-0, and in fact, even YOU voted against your own bill when it came on to the floor (!)
26.) “I Have Been A Bold Leader In Illinois…”
– NOT EXACTLY, because not even your own supporters in Illinois claim to have not seen BOLD action on your part.
27.) “I Passed 26 Of My Own Bills In One Year…”
– NOT EXACTLY, they were not YOUR bills, but rather bills that had been simply handed to you to sponsor, after their creation by a fellow Senator, as a ploy to assist you in your future bid for higher office.
28.) “No One on my campaign ever contacted Canada about NAFTA…”
– NOT EXACTLY true, because the Canadian Government made public the names and a memo of the conversation that senior staffers of your campaign had with them, in which you blustered about being tough with Mexico and Canada by canceling the NAFTA bill, and then – privately – told Canadian and Mexican politicians that it was “just campaign talk” and you had no intention of following up on those promises when you took Office.
Folks – do we really know who this man is ?
