With Tina Fey’s Saturday Night Live portrayal of Sarah Palin, U. S. feminist-liberalism has come round to define one of its core beliefs: The Bimbo Doctrine. Any political woman who doesn’t sound and look like either a cynical wisecracking babbling babe on The View or a frowsy academic from the Council on Foreign Relations is, under the Bimbo Doctrine, two frying pans and a bikini away from being Miss America. – Terrence Corcoran, National Post (Canada)
With that hilarious yet pointed observation in mind consider the following:
…Hannah Rosin, responding to the phenomenon of Sarah Palin: “One of my many depressed Obama-supporting friends suggests a tidy solution: Repeal the 19th Amendment.” That would be the one that extends the franchise to women, and the point was driven home by the forum Rosin chose for relaying this morose alternative: the XX Factor feminist blog at Slate Michael Weiss, The Weekly Standard
These women are showing themselves to be the bigoted babes we always knew they were. Suggesting that women should no longer have the right to vote as a solution to their Palin problem is a mark of true and vivid desperation.
Palin represents a better model. She is an individual, living life according to her own values, desires, needs and sense of personhood…go Sarah!
