Somos todos Americanos! – We are all Americans!
“I’m also pleased to have the opportunity to be here as you mark the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. I want you to know that my administration is marking this occasion, as well. Later this week, Secretary Salazar will lead the first meeting of a commission to look at the creation of a national museum to honor the historic contributions of Latinos and Latinas to our country,” announced President Obama on Monday as he decried, “Somos todos Americanos!” The meaning of his Spanish words came almost as a plea, “We are all American’s – please!”
And elsewhere across the country the NFL game in Miami heard its first penalty call in Spanish. The crowd booed loudly… wha? Was it because they didn’t understand the call and were mad or was it that they did and didn’t like it?
One great country, two languages! It could happen, but only if you happen to live in La-La Land, otherwise two languages threaten the future success of this country. My heart sinks every time I hear on the telephone, “Press one for English” or when I walk into a Lowes or Home Depot and the signs are written in both English and Spanish. This is not to promote bi-lingualism folks, if you were bi-lingual you wouldn’t need to read it in Spanish! No, what this is for is to accommodate those who speak only Spanish and want to keep on speaking only Spanish. We’re breaking down into two camps, those who speak Spanish and those who speak English, well, three if you want to include Ebonics, bu thats another story.
Some think we’ve gone beyond the tipping point where we’ve lost control over our own culture.
Those useful fools on the left and the businesses looking for cheap labor to improve their bottom line (albeit only temporarily) have sold out the rest of us who believe in controlled immigration to preserve our great melting pot while passing on the virtues of this great Republic to our newest citizens. It’s hard to do that when a whole segment of our modern society won’t even recognize the American flag.
Via con Dios America and welcome open borders! Because this is where we’re all headed. We’re destined to become just North Americanos from the Southern tip of Mexico to the Northern edge of the US. Somos todos Americanos!
