This plays into ignorant peoples’ notion that the president can actually control the economy. Intelligent people know that economics is complicated, and not so easily explained.
Is it the goal of Post_Scripts to spread ignorance?
Oh wait, I already know the answer to that one.
This also plays into the paranoiacs’ assumptions that the so-called mainstream media is interested in anything other than making money for themselves. Only fools believe that corporations can have any ideology other than making money, and preserving their dominance over “We, the People” in America.
If the media told the truth, if the people actually knew how badly they have been screwed by the corporations that, in fact, own ALL the media that lie to us, we’d have riots of historical proportions–and the corp execs would have BIG headaches, wouldn’t they?
Better for the media to keep us mad at each other with their made-up stories.

  2. Post Scripts says:

Quentin you missed the point. I don’t think the message was the president controls the economy, it was the double standard employed by the media. Thought that was pretty clear?

  3. Quentin Colgan says:

You missed my point. There is no double standard in the media–except on the part of Fox.
The media is simply out to make money. They are sensationalist and lazy. They have NO standard–other than to make money–and keep their place in society, over us. I thought I made that pretty clear.
OTOH, Fox News does have an agenda: dividing us so we can be more easily conquered–by the foreign nationals who control Fox????
    Hmmm, THAT would make them a subversive organization–traitors to this great nation . . . . . . .
Something is gonna have to be done about that . . . . .

Great post Jack. Klaven does a wonderful job of illustrating the double standard so obviously present in MSM reporting.

I don’t think Q has missed the point. He’s just being Q, pretending his own high intelligence while cutting down everyone else. I read once that very insecure people feel it necessary to do this just to feel ok about themselves…who knows, maybe he just enjoys the fight.

I admit Q fascinates me. He calls others paranoid and then promptly says we are all being “controlled” by the media. sounds pretty paranoid to me. He has an unusually freakish paranoia about people making money by engaging in commerce…yet I would bet he still buys and uses the products and services offered by these menacing companies and he is free to choose which ones he buys from and which he avoids…so why the paranoia?

He does express honest concern that we are fussing and fighting with one another too much instead of focusing our united anger at these corporations. I’d think it was significant except for the fact that he’s so contentious himself.

Economic analysis is complicated and requires knowledge most of us will never have.

The economy for the average person can be evaluated in very simple terms. Are most people able to find work? Are prices for necessary goods and services reasonable? Do most people have a little extra money after paying bills to invest or spend as they like?

Right now the answer to these questions is no for a large number of our citizens. The outlook for the future is pretty grimm. The policies tried by this administration to reverse the recession have not worked and in fact have made matters so much worse. We knew this would happen because these policies have been tried before with disasterous results. (The Great Depression)

Time to put someone else in the drivers seat. Someone who believes in the strength and power of the people of United States rather than pointy headed bookworm economists and community organizers that have never had a private sector job, run a company, or met a payroll.

I enjoy reading Post Scripts because of the intelligent writing and informative articles. You both do an outstanding job. I usually dont read Qs comments, because I know hell just expound his usually hatred or attempt to misinform. But, today he actually cracked me up and Im trying to hold back the tears as I write this.

He actually said, This plays into ignorant peoples’ notion that the president can actually control the economy. Intelligent people know that economics is complicated, and not so easily explained.

Ill bet if Ive heard Q and the rest of the left and MSM say the economic mess were in is because of Bush and the past administration Ive heard it close to a thousand times the past two plus years. Now that Obama is president Qs memory doesnt even go back to yesterday when he was blaming Bush, and now Obama cant be held accountable for not only continuing on with Bushs actions but driven our unemployment from 5% to almost 10%.

Here is an article with fact that a minority group is at 17% unemployment.

Hopefully, as Q said intelligent people and those of us who are not at or above the 140 IQ range can also figure out who is responsible for the mess we are all in and vote those who have the intellectual ability and experience to bring us out of it.

Excuse me while I go wipe my eyes. LOL!

  6. Toby says:

When Obama was elected he won a four year all expense paid luxury vacation for him and all his pals, so as far as he is concerned things are just great.

  7. Toby says:

    Peggy, RIGHT ON and ^5.

  8. Post Scripts says:

Q: So Fox news is not in it for the money, they support conservative causes because they want some foreign power to take us over? Who would that be Rupert Murdock, CHAOS, or Goldfinger?

  9. Libby says:

Well, if one man’s policies control an economy … the Shrub will be roasting for all eternity, won’t he?

Some of us have truly long and lengthy memories.

  10. Toby says:

Libby, “Some of us have truly long and lengthy memories.” LMAO really?
