About Terrorism…

Question, should we spend a trillion dollars and a few thousand military lives to possibly stop a terrorist attack and save a few hundred civilian and a few million dollars in property loss? That’s what the politicians seem to think we want. And to score points with the voters they’re prepared to spend our last dime on impossible missions. Is that a fair deal or should we try to get past this zero tolerance mentality and take some calculated risk to live a more normal life?

I was thinking the same thing when I saw Obamas plan for brining thousands of troops home from Afghanistan against the better judgment of his generals. Lets face it they do not have enough troops to deal with the problems they face and now Obama is going to pull out huge numbers of troops. Either leave it alone or bring them all home!
This plan of his only endangers the troops left behind. Oh and the reason is so he can show his hard boiled liberal base he did something. I saw a poll the other day that 3 in 10 will vote for Obama in 2012, I think maybe he saw that also.

Hey. We tried to tell Obama that conventional military action in Afghanistan was already proved hopeless, but he really wanted to get elected.

And you know, he’s not pulling huge numbers, only pulling back to pre-surge levels, which makes some people think he’s just doing some pre-election pandering to us liberals.

Or he could have come to his senses, and It’ll be CIA drones and elite special forces from now on, hoping to keep the carnage to some “tolerable” level.

Cause the whole thing is just hopeless. You wanna see a democracy in Afghanistan? Come back in 500 years.
