California Is Succeeding… at importing poverty

by Jack

The first big step toward a socialist state occurs when people prefer security and equality over protecting their individual freedom. This is happening in America today and especially in California. We’re following the old European model even though it’s been in failure mode for years and that has caused some European social-democracies to reverse course to save themselves.

We have not been watching Europe or we would know socialism promotes bureaucracy through well intended, but heavy handed rules, regulations and laws which inevitably erode much of our freedom as it impedes our productivity and wealth creation.

Now lets see how this plays out in our fair state. As an example of how far we’ve come, and this is according to Assemblyman Dan Logue, a Communist Chinese trade delegation recently said they found our government oversight too intrusive and cumbersome. They were discouraged from locating any of their businesses here, imagine that? To add to this insult, Sen. LaMalfa informed us China would like to help us manufacture parts of the proposed high speed rail system, but they needed the money up front in advance for their goods because of our bad credit and the high probability this endeavor will fail.

Did you ever think you would live to see the day when a communist country would think we had too much government? Or the day when the state with the most natural resources and the highest income in the nation would be broke and not have good credit?

California has turned into a high-tax, socialist nanny state where the working middle class has to support millions of illegals and too many overpaid government employees.

The state income tax has now broke the 10 percent barrier. The number of people leaving has for the first time in 70 years outpaced the incoming number, (including illegals). With the exception of Silicon Valley, business is exiting this state at the first opportunity. It simply costs too much to do business here, but in 2012 the legislature and their allies will have five new propositions on the ballot to raise tens of billions more in taxes. For the 4th year in a row, more residents left the Golden State than moved here from other states, according to the California Dept. of Finance.

“Go west young man,” but not if you want a job! Better go somewhere else because California also leads in unemployment.

California Importing Poverty Faster Than Any Other State–Guess Who Gets To Pay To Fix It?

According to Edwin S. Rubenstein, President of ESR Research Economic Consultants in Indianapolis: California’s per capita real (inflation-adjusted) income will fall 11 percent over the next two decades if current demographic and educational trends continue. The decline will be larger than that of any other state, and more than 5-times the two percent decline in per capita income projected for the nation, according to a just released study by the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education [As America Becomes More Diverse: The Impact of State Higher Education Inequality, November 2005]

Every wonder why we are abandoning the tried and true practices that made us a strong and wealthy nation?

Never in U.S. history has per capita real income declined over a two-decade span. But then again, never have American demographics been so impacted by an influx of unskilled minority workers.

The share of California’s labor force consisting of whites is expected to fall to 39 percent in 2020; it had been 71 percent as recently as 1980. California’s growth is almost completely within the Hispanic population, whose workforce share is expected to jump from 16 percent in 1980 to 38 percent in 2020. Immigration is the primary driver.

Per capita real income is being dragged down because, amazingly, public policy is to import poverty–and all its problems.”

Words can’t describe how sad and then angry this makes me feel.

Thanks Jack, this is so true. It should make us mad, but we are told we are racists if we complain.
