Pelosi Lied – More on Waterboarding

Post by Jack

In an explosive memoir released today, former CIA counterterrorism chief Jose Rodriguez provides new evidence that Rep. Nancy Pelosi lied when she declared she had not been briefed about the use of waterboarding.

Recall that in a Capitol Hill news conference three years ago, Pelosi (D-Calif.) vehemently denied being told about the use of waterboarding at a CIA briefing in September 2002. “We were not — I repeat — were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used,” Pelosi said. She later changed her story, telling reporters, “We were told explicitly that waterboarding was not being used.” She claimed she learned about the use of waterboarding the following year, only after other lawmakers were told by the CIA. “I wasn’t briefed, I was informed that somebody else had been briefed about it,” she said.

Guy Benson regarding Pelosis denial three years ago:

we knew that two separate members of the House Intelligence Committee had personally attested to her presence at a private 2002 briefing, at which EITs were thoroughly described. A contemporaneous CIA report also confirmed Pelosi’s presence at the briefing, specifying that members were informed about the existence and use of these EITs. A 2007 Washington Post account corroborated these facts. And yet, Pelosi stuck to her story. She claimed that she was not — repeat: was not — told about any of this, further asserting that the CIA had lied by explicitly assuring her that waterboarding had not been used.

You guys are so deeply weirded out.

Rodriguez’s position seems to be that droning people dead is less humane than torturing them to death.

    And you endorse this position?

    Weirded out.

Those of us who profess to humanity will not be participating in November … having no where to turn.

I think Pelosi’s droning should be considered a slow, painful torture method.
