Well, I have more bad news for you. The DemoNcrats now have a 2/3rds majority in the state legislature. Do you know what that means? It means they can pass ANY tax increase they want, whenever they want.
The Repulicans are totally irrelevant and the DemoNcrats will not need any ballot iniatives to raise taxes now. I saw this coming a couple of years ago. I tried to get people interested in splitting the state. I called La Malfa’s office and Logue’s office about this and they had no interest. I told them there would come a day soon when Republicans would be irrelevant in the legislsature but they would not listen.
As far as the city council goes the conservatives blundered. They had too many candidates running and their votes were dilluted. They should have run only 3 solid candidates and consolidated their support. That is just common sense but they could not see it.

Prop 30 – the $50B tax hike passed. That will give businesses more reason to leave this state. This is certain to hurt jobs and the money will not do squat to help education or improve our national standing…which is at the bottom. Stupid is as stupid does.
LOL, I just came here to share that same information. I was clicking on Google News for more election results and that headline was right at the top of the page

Pretty unbelievable that the whole time I was worrying about national results, my state was imploding around me. I follow politics a lot, and I was prepared for an Obama win, but I never, ever saw this disaster coming.
What the heck?
Yup, I can see the moving vans headed east already. I even checked out a 3 bedroom 2 bath home in Reno, across the street from my brother, with a beautifu view of the valley for only $130k. They have no state income tax and friends from San Jose are already there.
Decision time.
It’s big news all right. Those Latinos have finally begun to turn out at the polls. I think they got us our majority, and I think they took Colorado for Obama.
I don’t want to learn to speak Spanish … but my nephew does. It’s all up for us old folk.
Born and raised near Chico. Moved out of CA years ago and dislike what this once-great state has become. Back now only because of temporary family medical situation and will be gone in a flash once that is fixed.
Businesses & individuals who can are leaving CA in droves, and the results of this election will only hurry that exodus along. NV & TX (no state income taxes there) will be big beneficiaries.
Those that voted in favor of all the new taxes and to continue keeping the foxes in charge of the henhouse in Sacramento are in for a big surprise when they get the bill at tax time.
This election was the “takers” vs the “makers.” Wonder who’s going to fund CA when the makers disappear? When that happens, it won’t matter which group of politicians occupy Sacramento.
The once Golden State has turned to rust. Can’t wait to leave Chico again.
