Yesterday’s good news was LA’s Measure B makes it a law that porn actors must wear condoms, today’s bad news, the LA porn industry says they’re going to relocate to nearby Las Vegas, thus taking millions of tax revenue with them. No matter how you feel about the porn industry this is yet another reminder of the law of cause and effect that has previously chased away so many decent employers. Odd, it took the porn industry to get people’s attention.
Good news – San Francisco is on its way to becoming the first U.S. city to provide and cover the cost of sex reassignment surgeries for uninsured transgender residents. The bad news, San Francisco is on its way to becoming the first U.S. city to provide and cover the cost of sex reassignment surgeries for uninsured transgender residents. No doubt this will soon catch the attention of the Chico City Council.
Next up, good news the City of Chico puts more 6 more officers on patrol duty…the bad news, they had to shut down their gang enforcement unit to do it, and currently we are in the midst of a gang war between the Nortenos and the Sorenos. The good news is, there’s a gang war between Nortenos and Sorenos. Gee, I bet you can’t wait until the last gang member standing declares victory.
Here’s an idea…when that poor gang-banger, all shot up, bruised, battered and stabbed, emerges from the big fight as the sole survivor, lets buy him a pitcher of Corona, then when he’s all done we tie him to the tracks 30 seconds before the 5:45 express rolls thru town. Then we go get a pitcher, sound good?
I see. We have here employers who apparently insist that their employees expose themselves to groady and/or deadly diseases, and we pass a law saying they may not do this … and they decide to take their business to a state where they are permitted to … and you are grousing about lost tax revenue?
That’s a capitalist, that is. Union! Union! Union!
You’re right Libs! It’s disgusting that employers have the ability to move to another state to avoid a tax. So the next step is total dictatorship, right? It’s the only solution that would prevent that kind of offensive, disgusting liberty. I mean really why should they have a choice.
But I’m a little confused, what good would a union do in this case. You have to forgive me, I’m new to this progressive stuff but you won and I’m ready to learn.
Tina, that’s good that you are ready to learn, because a re-education camp is probably next on their adgenda…oh, wait, come to think of it we’ve already got em. They’re just called universities.
Tina seems easy to explain to me.
No rules when it comes to your personal choices, if you can’t afford to implement that choice then the government will help, but first those making $250,000 or more must pay more taxes, so the money is there,
They are also allowed to say anyhting they want, first Amendment you know.
Conservatives have to shut up, so as not to confuse the issues.
See, Easy.
Look on the bright side, LA’s Measure B will move the porn industry to Harry Reid’s Nevada where it belongs.
Now, if San Francisco would only cover the cost of all of the medical needs of uninsured transgender residents they could become the uninsured transgender hub of the planet.
Ummmm…Do porn industry workers belong to the screen actors guild? I believe they do, which would mean they are in a union! So, what did their union do for them? Or not do for them? What and where does the union come into this? I am confused.
Good question Gwen…thanks for asking, and thanks for joining us at Post Scripts.
