Of course Eisenhower was speaking back in the fifties when the Social Security rate was 3% (1.5% for the employee) on earnings up to $3600. It wasn’t a “take from the rich” program of redistribution then. Most people died in their sixties or early seventies too. The program had yet to be exposed as grossly inadequate and the Congress had yet to borrow from the fund. It wasn’t yet one of the programs that adds so much to the nations debt yea after year. The Great Society was also not yet creating a vast government complex of dysfunction and waste of human potential encouraging free people to dependency and joblessness.
With hindsight it’s a whole nuther ball game?
The Republican Party has not suggested eliminating regulations or programs…he77, we can’t even get Democrats to agree to reform the broken, antiquated social programs that everyone says must be reformed.
Having selected information is like having no information at all.

No it isn’t and nobody has ever suggested that. The 1% already pay most of the tax burden so what’s your beef? The wealth any American accumulates is his property. Have you no respect for property rights…one of the foundational tenets of our system?

I wonder how many Americans who work in these jobs, a result of good management and reinvestment of profits by the Koch’s, would prefer that they had sat on a porch and collected welfare from the government redistribution center instead? Not one I’ll wager!

Hey Dowzer, Since the Koch brothers are your worst nightmare I’ll bet George Soros is your biggest hero since he’s the one funding so many of those individuals and organizations you worship and admire and that the Koch brothers oppose.
This will crack you up I’m sure. He came in dead last in a transparency study he paid one of his organizations to conduct. Now isn’t that just a kick in the pants.
He also just loves Obama and the progressive, left-wing, socialist movement, and we all know just how transparent Obama’s been the past six years. He77 we’re still waiting for information on Fast and Furious and how two of our border agents were killed with our guns. Oh but that was soooooo long ago I’m sure their parents have forgotten all about it by now and don’t even want to know the truth any more.
I’ll bet you even believe the parents of the four men killed in Benghazi almost two whole years ago don’t want to know the truth either. Remember Carney even said, “it was a long time ago” and Clinton said, “what difference does it make?”

So, we have Soros, his buddy Obama, our would be queen Hillary and all of their minions know what it means too, but they think we’re all too stupid to figure out the truth on our own. They’ll spend millions, no make that billions to hide behind their curtain of deceit to promote themselves to higher positions of power and wealth while stepping and spitting on those they kicked out of the way to get there.

Soros Group Given Zero Stars On Transparency Study Conducted By Soros Group:
The Open Society Foundations, funded by liberal billionaire George Soros, was given the lowest score possible in a study of think tank transparency conducted by an organization also funded by Soros.
The study, conducted by an organization called Transparify, which is backed solely by Soros, rated 169 think tanks from 47 different countries on the degree of transparency of their funding they provide on their websites.
A total of 35 U.S. think tanks were rated.
Open Society Foundations was one of only two U.S. organizations in the study given zero stars.
That low rating indicates that the Soros-backed group provided “no relevant or up-to-date information” on its website, according to Transparify’s scale.
In contrast, a five-star rating indicates that think tanks’ websites had “all donors listed, clearly identifying donor amounts, and source of, particular projects.”
