‘If the facts were known, stupidity of the American voter’ would have killed Obamacare
10 Nov – White House exposed over cover-up in the ACA aka Obamacare: Remember Nancy Pelosi’s famous line, “We’ll have to pass it to see what’s in it?” As dumb as this sounds it’s exactly what the Obama Administration had in mind. This was evidenced by the disclosure from Obamacare architect, Jonathan Gruber from MIT when he said yesterday, the lack of transparency was key because ‘stupidity of the American voter’ would have killed Obamacare. The guys in the White House kept you in the dark about Obamacare details and then deliberately mislead you. How high up does this deception go? We may never know. . . given the lack of transparency.
MORE EVIDENCE: Earlier, a three-judge panel in the D.C. Circuit Court ruled that, contrary to the Obama administration’s implementation and an Internal Revenue Service rule, Obamacare’s subsidies for private health insurance were limited to state-run health exchanges. The reasoning for this ruling was simple: That’s what the law says. The section dealing with the creation of state exchanges and the provision of subsidies states, quite clearly, that subsidies are only available in exchanges ”established by a State,” which the law expressly defines as the 50 states plus the District of Columbia.
Obamacare’s defenders have responded by saying that this is obviously ridiculous. It doesn’t make any sense in the larger context of the law, and what’s more, no one who supported the law or voted for it ever talked about this. It’s a theory concocted entirely by the law’s opponents, the health law’s backers argue, and never once mentioned by people who crafted or backed the law.
It’s not. One of the law’s architects—at the same time that he was a paid consultant to states deciding whether or not to build their own exchanges—was espousing exactly this interpretation as far back in early 2012, and long before the Halbig suit—the one that was decided against the administration—was filed. (A related suit, Pruitt v. Sebelius, had been filed earlier, but did not challenge tax credits within the federal exchanges until an amended version which was filed in late 2012.)
Did you vote for Obama? Did you support Obamacare? Just wondering how you like being fooled and told you were too stupid to know the truth? Another thing…that trillion dollar price tag for Obamacare, uh, that figure looks a little low now. As the auditors tally the costs the figure of about two and half trillion is coming into focus. Republicans were right.

Have been calling it Obumblecare ever since it passed. Will have to change it now to Oliarcare, and the deception is the best reason for it to be REPEALED! Even over a prezidential veto!
Arrogant progressive elitists have always thought themselves superior and the masses too dumb to know what’s good for them. The methods used to deceptively pass this healthcare law is par for the course. Obama has simply taken the entitlement of left tyranny to new heights.
I think they really believed they had a permanent majority and could do exactly as they pleased, the Constitution and the people be damned!
There were many reasons why I wanted to believe what this man said but after so many lies hey his credibility with is nil with me.
This is probably the wrong place to say this but I appreciate reading your stuff because it helps me connect with the local scene in good old Chico.
Any Greenbay fans see the game Sunday?
I better be clear I was talking about Obama.
This latest pack of lies should be of interest to the Supreme Court since they are going to once again hear another ObamaCare challenge.
Supreme Court to hear new ObamaCare challenge:

Yes, Aaron watched the Packers trounce the Bears Sunday night.
My whole family has been Packer fans for decades and even more so since Rodgers is from Chico. My son even has a football with Rodgers signature. It was a thank you gift for some work he did when Rodgers was back up QB.
Hope they make it to Super Bowl again!!
Welcome to PS.
“Obamacare Was Sold to the American People Thru Deception”
So was Obama!
Obamacare Architect Explains “Stupidity of American Voter” Needed to Pass ACA
The truth on Obamacare is finally out: The bill was purposely written to trick the CBO (congressional Budget Office) into believing the bill was not a tax. Moreover, the bill also depended on the “Stupidity of the American Voter”.
Many of us knew that long ago. But those are the words of Jonathan Gruber, a numbers wizard at M.I.T., who was courted by the Obama administration, and paid $400,000 for his efforts to see that the bill made its way through Congressional obstacles.

Harold you got that right.
But is there any leftist idea or candidate that isn’t sold with grand deceptions? Consider, the bottom line in liberal ideas is that Democrats, if given power, can give the people anything at low cost to the “government” without doing harm to anyone.
I heard that Obama agreed to cut back on our energy production now, for the sake of climate change, if China would agree to start cutting back on their energy production 17 years from now. This obligates us to all kinds of things that will make us weaker while China gets stronger. What team does he play for anyway?
Aaron that was exactly my thought.
The goal for Obama seems to be holding America back so others can catch up or run ahead. This is the mindset that believes the pie is finite so that in order for some to win others must lose.
He has also decided to cut back our military which makes little sense given the surge and expansion of our enemies.
In these conditions more than ever I am so thankful for the well trained men and women who volunteer to serve in the military. They do need a strong CoC. I pray we give them one in 2016.
You people are beyond pathetic. You benefit from the provisions thereof … of the ACA … but call it Obamacare … and you want it repealed.
Pathetic. Truly pathetic.
And Tina, nobody with the brains God Give A Turtle is signing up for your Middle East Adventure.
Unhappily, this country would seem to be full of people with no more brains than God Give A Turtle.
And … for all I know … I am defaming turtles.
Morons.
“You benefit from the provisions thereof … of the ACA … but call it Obamacare … and you want it repealed.”
Libby, I would like ask you to show us where Obamacare is benefitting the middle-class?
Harold you ask the essential question.
Gruber admitted Obamacare is a big redistribution scheme. Middle and upper middle class people will pay more for their insurance so that others don’t have to pay at all. Middle class people also don’t “benefit” when they lose policies and doctors they liked and wanted to keep. Middle class people have seen their rates rise when they were told repeatedly they could expect dramatic decreases in premiums.
Gruber was paid $400,000.00 for just one year of work to create this grand deception on people “too stupid to understand.”
Arrogant leftists come from the position that they know better how to handle our personal affairs than we do.
Libby is making excuses for people that have contempt for the middle and lower classes, perhaps because she is one of them:
And Libby I know you believe you speak for everyone when you speak but believe me it’s just evidence of your own elitist contempt and arrogance. By the by, the entire world has contempt for Obama’s “Middle East Adventure and the danger and chaos he’s created. Terrorists are pretty happy.
The middle class gets to keep their college kids on their policies.
The middle class gets to change carriers even if they have pre-existing conditions.
The middle class benefits tax-wise from reforms of Medicare payment structures.
The middle class benefits from increased funding to fraud ferreting entities within Medicare.
Middle-class employers benefit from a healthier and therefore more stable workforce.
And this is off the top of my head. So where’s your head been that it hasn’t picked any of this up?
Stuck in that bubble, that’s where. All Fox has to do is chant (no substance necessary, just chant) “Obamacare, Obamacare, Obamacare” … and all but piss yourselves.
It really is embarrassing to watch.
Libby you are tone deaf. I have said repeatedly that many of those things you mention could have been accomplished without making a huge chaotic mess for the people, doctors, businesses and insurers and without the new taxes, regulations and debt that will result as surely as do all of the other entitlement programs conceived by progressive redistributionists like you.
You live in the progresvive bubble seeking to fundamentally transform America into a third world country run by believers in Marx!
It is torture to watch!

Oh this is priceless! It was one of those “stupid” Americans who uncovered the lies told to voters when his insurance premiums doubled instead of going down $2500 that led him to the Gruber videos.
Thank God Americans are smarter than some people think.

Peggy Media Research Center is reporting that Charlie rose of CBS finally covered the Gruber story:
The full transcript is available at the link.
No one benefits from Obama care, “except for the too stupid to read it before they voted for it Liberal Politicians” herded by Pelosi.
Libby, all 3 of those areas you mentioned, could have been accomplished with a dozen page bill or so of clear and concise language.
As well as including Tort reform and competitive shopping by users between the different carriers, that could have created more effective and affordable reform without the multi thousand pages of lies Liberals cobbled together that was just a foundation for the redistribution of wealth.
“Redistribution of wealth”, that is Obamas legacy, along with attempting the destruction of capitalism.
Harold: “Libby, all 3 of those areas you mentioned, could have been accomplished with a dozen page bill or so of clear and concise language.”
But that’s not what you asked. You asked how the middle class benefitted from Obamacare, not “could they have benefitted from a system other than Obamacare in a hypothetical alternate reality.” Even if these goods could have been accomplished another way, the fact is that they were not, largely because Republicans had no interest in doing any of these things until the law passed and they realized they couldn’t take these benefits away and still remain a viable party.
You may have a short memory, but I remember when the conservatives here were arguing that companies had a God-given right to discriminate based on pre-existing conditions. The argument didn’t change to “we could find another way to solve this problem” until much later; in the beginning, most of you simply said it wasn’t a problem at all.
Libby answered your question fairly; you asked how the middle class benefitted from Obamacare, and she gave you a list. You then said, ridiculously, that only stupid people benefit from Obamacare, completely ignoring said list.
Seriously, the level of rhetoric and dialogue here is absolute garbage.
Harold, don’t hyperbolize … “destruction of capitalism” … such horsepucky undermines any seemingly legitimate complaint.
The obscenity which is the current state of legislation in this country is not an “Obama” problem. It has existed from some time, and the root of it is on “K” street and among the white boys.
I’m actually looking forward to the day Obama’s gone. He’s such a distraction. When he’s gone, you won’t be able to blame him for your own failings as citizens any longer (but you’ll find something else, I’m sure).
As to the “redistribution of wealth”, I think we have to define our terms. As I see things, all kinds of stuff, public culture, education, services of all kinds used to be heavily subsidized by tax revenue, and to be a member of the working class in this country was no particular misery. This is how I remember my childhood.
And then Reagan became president, sold you all one racist bill of goods, enabled the wealthy to shirk their responsibilities, turned this society totally class-ridden, and made the lives of the working class in this country a misery of economic insecurity.
Redistribution of wealth … means nothing more nor less that a 38% tax rate for those earning over $250,000 that there is absolutely no weedling out of.
And then people can take their kids to the zoo for free again.
