As the Year 2011 Ends…

As we close on the end of 2011 it’s hard to believe that almost 6 years has passed since Post Scripts had it’s first blog. During the time that’s followed we’ve been witness to so much history, the housing bubble that led to our great recession, the events in Iraq, Afghanistan, the election of a new President, then there was the Arab Spring and the end of Osama bin Laden, at times it was a real challenge to just stay up with it all, much less write about it. And then there were those rare slow days when we had to time write down our thoughts about things closer to home. Can you imagine, we’ve actually published over 6,700 articles and videos here? But, the best part for us has been the tens of thousands of comments we’ve received and knowing that tens of thousands of you each month will read Post Scripts.

The idea of reaching out into cyber space, never knowing who will respond or what they will say, well, it’s hard to describe the feelings we get from this daily effort, but it’s kinda like being part of a huge human experiment where you just have to wait and see what comes from it. But, so far PS has exceeded our best expectations.

We can sum it up like this, we’re looking forward to coming back in 2012 and we hope you’ll stay with us and invite your friends to take part. We’re going to being sharing a lot of views and news you can use!

Merry Christmas everyone and a happy New Year!

I Love who served over seas but we need to thank the vets and people serving home at land too. FIRE and police. They are the ones actually serving us here. I’m a fire vet I served here not helping someone else!

Since I am a retired police officer and my son is a current serving police officer, I think it’s okay for me to say this, we are honored 365 days a year with great pay, benefits and an early retirement. Every year service clubs across America go out of their way to honor police and fire with dinners, lunches, scholarships for their kids and personal awards. In addition we have our memorial statues and we have our special days, like 9/11, when many, many cites across America hold a memorial to honor those fallen firemen and police officers and all safety personnel who lost their lives in service to our country. And you also get your thanks every time those little school kids come to the fire house for a tour and they tell you, “I want be a fireman when I grow up.” Could you ever get more thanks than that? America thanks it’s heroes like yourself, make no mistake. It may come in subtle forms at times, but the thanks is always there.

I’m guess you might be a new fire fighter, fresh from the fire academy? So, I can understand where you are coming from, but take it from this old guy, you have our thanks…

Merry Christmas and thanks for doing a job few could or would. -Jack

Tina, couldn’t Congress have simply passed a new bill to cut this tax for a full year when they reconvene on January 5th? A 2 month extension seems like much ado about nothing.
