Ok, so you may have read earlier that I’m doing sort of an expose’ ad on ebay regarding these quack HHO generators that promise 50% of more better mileage by using water to produce hydrogen gas aka Brown’s gas. In case you are just joining us, this is quackery based on an old science project. However, fuel prices have brought out a lot of quacks trying to turn a fast buck by any means and using the Brown’s gas experiment to make false mileage claims was just their ticket to new riches! Now they are selling these HHO kits openly on eBay and there are pages and pages of the HHO devices for sale with all sorts of wild and unsupportable claims!
Apparently eBay doesn’t restrict them or hasn’t caught on to the fact these devices are scams.

However, they also share one other thing and this can be found on almost any other scam, from diet pills to hair restorers… they never offer any credible proof done by an independent testing laboratory. It’s always just testimonials which is totally worthless.
(UPDATE) eBay has responded to my consumer complaint to ban the above items and quickly moved into action! (Drum roll please…). I suppose they must have been operating under the theory “let no good deed go unpunished”…because these dorks banned MOI… me, the consumer advocate, me the guy trying to expose this fraud. Arrrgggg!!! The times must be tough for eBay and they had six pages of fraud items to be sold and only ONE consumer watchdog crying foul, so money talks and justice gets the heave ho into the #@$% …I kid you not. The Pinheads have won!
Seems my ad was in some sort of “technical violation” because I was only offering an email follow-up with further information on the quack devices and of course I had a disclaimer not to buy it because basically I said what everyone needed to know already in my ad exposing the HHO quackery. One of my fouler critics who was selling these bogus things emailed me to say good-bye, adding insult to well you know. What a bummer.
OK, he who laughs last…I,, your crusading advocate ala Don Quixote, would-be Champion for Consumer Justice, shall NOT be undaunted! I will move on to Plan B and tilt at the ultimate windmill!!! And like a snow flake falling in Hades I will challenge the odds with my weapon of last retort, one that will surely NOT strike much fear into the dark hearts of these eBay fraudsters, yet it is my only choice left…I shall file a formal complaint with the Dept. of Consumer Affairs for the State of California! I have “infinite trust” our decreped civil servants will work (perhaps thats the wrong verb…work?) not-too-diligently to maybe, possibly, right a wrong on behalf of TRUTH, JUSTICE AND AMERICAN ADVERTISING! And I will watch for a successful outcome even as the calendar years will surely tick-off like the minutes on my grandfather clock and report back to you.
