Climate Scandal Update

Posted by Tina

Fallout continues in the under-reported climate scandal that many are now calling climate-gate. NASA is being threatened with a lawsuit for failure to respond to freedom of information requests and an even more earth shattering (pardon the image) scandal is being reported out of Denmark on carbon trading fraud:

Double Quote of the Week

“Many years ago, radio wit Fred Allen observed that ‘You can take all the sincerity in Hollywood, stick it in the navel of a flea, and still have room left over for two caraway seeds and an agent’s heart.’ I say he was being too kind.” – Burt’s Eye View: Hooray for Hollywood, by Burt Perlutsky – Big Hollywood

Economic Wisdom? Yes…and No

“For our money, one of the better parts of President Obama’s speech at West Point this week was his connection between a healthy economy and U.S. national security. To quote: “Our prosperity provides a foundation for our power. It pays for our military. It underwrites our diplomacy.” We only wish Mr. Obama understood the link between the larger welfare state he is trying to build at home and the economic weakness.” – Wall Street Journal

Thank You Doctors of the California medical Association!

And thanks go out to the Docs in other states standing up to oppose this flawed, expensive bill!

“California Medical Assn. to oppose healthcare bill under debate in Senate” – L. A. Times

The state’s largest doctors group is opposing healthcare legislation being debated in the Senate this week, saying it would increase local healthcare costs and restrict access to care for elderly and low-income patients. ** The California Medical Assn. represents more than 35,000 physicians statewide, making it the second-largest state medical association in the country after Texas. ** The group’s executive committee met last week to discuss the Senate legislation proposed by Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Nov. 18, also known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Association leaders plan to issue a news release detailing their opposition later today, spokesman Andrew LaMar told The Times. ** They join a handful of other state medical associations that have opposed the bill in recent weeks, including Florida, Georgia and Texas.

Downside of a Celebrity Presidency

1545-Barack Obama Ecstasy.jpg

This is a sick, sad occurance but reflects the “cool” that is the hallmark of a hip president:

“Barack Obama Ecstasy Pills Hit Streets: Approval Ratings High,” by Ryan Smith – CBS News

PALMVIEW, Texas (CBS/AP) President Barack Obama’s approval rating may be hovering in the 50 percent range, but that doesn’t mean America’s Commander-in-Chief isn’t catching on with new constituents. ** There is now a line of Ecstasy pills made in the image of the 44th president of the United States, according to Texas police who have snatched a batch off the streets. ** A stash of the brightly colored tablets was found Monday during a south Texas traffic stop. ** Police in Palmview detained a driver after finding black tar heroin, cocaine, marijuana and several Ecstasy pills in the back of his car. ** The drugs look like a “vitamin for kids,” police spokesman Lenny Sanchez said. ** Police say that other Ecstasy pills they found were made to look like the cartoon characters Homer Simpson and the Smurfs.

Selling to kids is the purpose behind this which would not be the case had the left chosen a candidate for his maturity rather than his cool.

Assorted Reactions to Obama’s Surge Speech

His constituents were not all happy with President Obama:

“With just one speech … you will turn a multitude of young people who were the backbone of your campaign into disillusioned cynics,” Michael Moore

“The President needs to hear that we want to bring the troops home, not send more,” Moveon.org

Europe is cautious and skeptical:

“Searching in Vain for Obama Magic,” by Gabor Steingart – Spiegel Online

Never before has a speech by President Barack Obama felt as false as his Tuesday address announcing America’s new strategy for Afghanistan. It seemed like a campaign speech combined with Bush rhetoric — and left both dreamers and realists feeling distraught. ** One can hardly blame the West Point leadership. The academy commanders did their best to ensure that Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama’s speech would be well-received.

Shoe Tosser Says He’d Target Obama Too

What goes around comes flying back atcha….

“Iraqi Shoe Thrower Hit by Shoe” CBS News

The Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at former President George W Bush has himself become the target of a shoe thrower. *** While speaking at a press conference in Paris on Tuesday, Muntadhar al-Zeidi, was nearly hit in the face by a shoe thrown by what appeared to be another Iraqi man.

“I’d do the same to Obama, says shoe-thrower Muntazer al-Zaidi,” – news.comau

A PROTESTER who presented himself as an Iraqi journalist in exile hurled a shoe at the colleague who one year ago found fame hurling his own footwear at then US president George W. Bush. *** Some of those present applauded him, but several Arab reporters complained that while his protest was legitimate for an activist, a journalist should have behaved more professionally. *** Zaidi was unrepentant, insisting that given the opportunity he would do the same again to Mr Bush’s successor, US President Barack Obama “whatever the colour of his skin, his origin or his religion”.

Hmmmm….religion? What religion is al-Zaida referring to?

It would seem that GWB was right about one thing, those who hate the west hate us for who we are and what we believe. It doesn’t matter what party or person holds the leadership position.

Jack Webb Scolds Obama

By One Vike

If I could give Obama an earful of what it means to be a good American, I think I might be inclined to say what Jack Webb said in a Dragnet episode. Well this video has Obam edited into the video and hippies from the episode edited out. It works for me, and it hits the mark with a perfect bulls eye.

In Honduras the People Decide

Congratulations to the Little Country That Could,” by Rick Richman – Commentary Magazine

Throughout the Honduran “crisis” — the removal of the Honduran president by order of a unanimous Honduran Supreme Court, supported by the virtually unanimous approval of the Honduran Congress — many noted there was an easy remedy for the alleged “coup”: hold the already scheduled election between the already selected candidates and install an undeniably democratic government. ** Instead, President Obama labeled what had happened a “military coup,” cut off aid to one of the poorest states in the hemisphere, revoked the visas of the entire Honduran Supreme Court, and resisted for months the obvious solution to the “crisis.” ** On Friday, the State Department finally endorsed the election…more than 61.5 percent of registered Hondurans went to the polls, a historic record turnout

It’s worth noting that the vote of the people also represents a black eye to Marxist leaders who spoke out in support of the ousted president in a bid to spread their brand of tyranny.
