Letter to the White House

April 27, 2009

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

Mr. Obama:

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally.

You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America. You are responsible to the citizens of the United States. You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on earth.

I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe? Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about? Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century?

Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?

AF1 Flies Over ManhattenWhat Were They Thinking?

What were they thinking when they instructed authorities not to notify the public?

Air Force One Photo Opp Triggers Panic in Manhattan, by Mark Crudele, Richard Esposito, & Lisa Stark

** A photo shoot involving a 747 used as Air Force One and two fighter jets flying at low altitude led to hundreds of frightened calls from residents and workers in Lower Manhattan this morning, triggering memories of 9-11 as many evacuated their offices. The president was not aboard. Although the shoot was authorized, the normal system of public notification broke down, multiple officials said. *** “It scared a couple of million people,” one airport official said. Witnesses told ABCNews.com that they were “shocked” and “running scared” when the planes flew overhead. **

Kathy Ireland, a human rights issue.

Posted by Tina

Kathy Ireland wanted evidence to prove her pro-choice position…she found just the opposite:

** “My entire life I was pro-choice who was I to tell another woman what she could or couldnt do with her body? But when I was 18, I became a Christian and I dove into the medical books, I dove into science,” Ireland told Tarts while promoting her insightful new book “Real Solutions for Busy Mom: Your Guide to Success and Sanity.” *** “What I read was astounding and I learned that at the moment of conception a new life comes into being. The complete genetic blueprint is there, the DNA is determined, the blood type is determined, the sex is determined, the unique set of fingerprints that nobody has had or ever will have is already there.” *** “I called Planned Parenthood and begged them to give me their best argument and all they could come up with that it is really just a clump of cells and if you get it early enough it doesnt even look like a baby. Well, were all clumps of cells and the unborn does not look like a baby the same way the baby does not look like a teenager, a teenager does not look like a senior citizen. That unborn baby looks exactly the way human beings are supposed to look at that stage of development. It doesnt suddenly become a human being at a certain point in time,” Ireland argued. “Ive also asked leading scientists across our country to please show me some shred of evidence that the unborn is not a human being. I didnt want to be pro-life, but this is not a womans rights issue but a human rights issue.” **

Movie of the Week – State of Play

by Jack Lee

In the new hit movie, State of Play, art eerily mirrors real life events. In the movie story, A Washington based newspaper, The Washington Globe, employs a long haired, bearded Cal McAffrey (old guard) played by Russell Crowe who teams up with Della Frye, played by Rachel McAdams (new guard) to investigate several homicides involving Congressman caught in a love triangle and a big defense corporation out to protect their assets.

Fry is an ambitious, young cub-reporter who writes a popular political blog. (Incredibly similar to Post Scripts!) The Globe’s editor bemoans the sad state of affairs for newspapers around the country. (Very true) The Globe has just been sold and the new investors have put the pressure on the editor to improve the paper’s bottom line! (Again, very true to life)

The editor, played to perfection by Helen Mirren, quips, about the only thing looking up at this paper is the online blog. (No comment) She notes this is the new direction of journalism and this irks Cal McAffrey (Crowe) who is not unlike a reporters version of Colombo. He is disheveled, earthy and a man of the people. He knows everybody in his city and has a razor sharp mind for leads or how to get the facts out of cops when the police are reluctant to talk. This unlikely duo of new and old journalists are forced to team up in order to get the real story about an all in one defense contractor which is made to look a whole lot like Halliburton paired with Blackwater. The movie rates a strong 7.5 out of 10.

————–

Ironically the movie really hit on the truth about newspapers everywhere…online is going strong, blogs are the new wave of news, and the ink version is on the decline. Today it was announced that the average newspaper lost circulation of 7.1 percent in the October-March period from the same six-month span in 2007-2008. The latest figure represents data from 395 daily U.S. newspapers that reported in both the current and year-ago periods.

Bank of America – Ken Lewis – Troubled Times

by Jack Lee

In a way this is old news, but there is a new twist and so it should be aired. There are still a number of unanswered questions about the Bank of America (BAC) purchase of besieged Merrill Lynch that shareholders need to know.

lewis.jpgFirst of all, why did Bank of America CEO, Ken Lewis, not disclose to the shareholders that Bank of America was being pressured by the Feds to buy Merrill Lynch in the first place? They deserved to know, they are legally entitled as shareholders, but this part was never brought up. So, why did Lewis still go ahead with the toxic Merrill Lynch deal after it was discovered there was another 12 million in liabilities not previously disclosed? Why didn’t Lewis seek additional bailout money to cover this bad deal if the Feds were forcing B of A to take? Other banks did that and got compensated for buying crippled companies, but the BAC shareholders got zip!

New Yorks attorney general said yesterday government officials pressured Bank of America Corp. CEO Ken Lewis to complete the banks purchase of Merrill Lynch.

Obama’s Ungodly Youth Corp

hitler_youth.jpgby OneVike

What is it about socialists, that makes them despise religion? It seems that whenever a Socialists wins an election that gives them the ultimate power in a country, the first thing they try to do is remove religion as a force in that society. Oh it’s not done in a way that the people realize it is happening. No, it’s more covert and insidious in the way it is brought about. Usually it’s done right under the noses of the very people who claim their ruler would never do such a thing. In America, religious persecution by the government has been brewing for a few generations.

The shot over the bow of religion was fired by Hugo Black, a former Ku Klux Klan member appointed to the Supreme Court by FDR. In 1947 when Hugo Black wrote the majority opinion for Everson vs. Board of Education., he reinterpreted the meaning of the First Amendment of the Constitution by taking completely out of context a phrase used by President Thomas Jefferson in a letter he wrote to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802. By using the phrase separation of church and state, in his opinion, Justice Black limited the religious liberty of all Americans. Now after 62 years of constant government attack, Obama and Congress are about to take their godless agenda forward by disallowing college students the right to worship as they please.

Quote of the Week

Let’s get at the truth too about the word “torture,” which to different people, means different things. Some think “torture” means standing on the 98th floor of a burning skyscraper and realizing you have a choice between jumping and being incinerated. Some think torture is being crushed when a building implodes around you. Some think torture is not thinking you might drown for several minutes, but looking at burning buildings on television and knowing that people you love are inside them. They remember that being crushed, incinerated, or killed in a jump from the 98th story happened to almost 3,000 blameless Americans (as well as a number of foreigners), and that 125 Pentagon employees were killed at their desks, while many survivors suffered terrible burns. They think the choice between stopping this from happening again by slapping around or scaring the hell out of a cluster of brigands, or leaving the brigands alone and letting it happen again, is a no-brainer.

Pregnancy Questions and Answers

doc.jpgBy Dr. Doktar

Q: Should I have a baby after 35?
A: No, 35 children is enough.

Q : I’m two months pregnant now. When will my baby move?
A: With any luck, right after he finishes college.

Q : What is the most reliable method to determine a baby’s sex?
A: Childbirth.

Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she’s borderline irrational.
A: So what’s your question?

Q : My childbirth instructor says it’s not pain I’ll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?
A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current.

Q: When is the best time to get an epidural?
A: Right after you find out you’re pregnant.

Q : Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor?
A: Not unless the word “alimony” means anything to you.

Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?
A: Yes, pregnancy.

Q : Do I have to have a baby shower?
A: Not if you change the baby’s diaper very quickly.

Q : Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again?
A: When the kids are in college.

What Makes Waterboarding an Injustice, a Scandal, a Crime?

water-boarding-a-1.jpgPosted by Tina

Clifford D. May, the president of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies has posed a good question in his recent article, Shock Therapy, by Clifford D. May – National Review

** Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was the mastermind behind the terrorist atrocities of Sept. 11, 2001. If U.S. intelligence operatives had spotted him in a remote area of Pakistan and killed him with a Predator missile, most people would have said: Thats justice. *** Instead, of course, KSM was captured in an urban area of Pakistan by U.S. intelligence operatives who then interrogated him including through use of the technique known as waterboarding thereby leaving him alive and eliciting from him information about other terrorist plots in which innocent Americans had been targeted. Why are so many people insisting thats an injustice, a scandal, and a crime for which intelligence operatives and former government officials ought to be prosecuted? **

Why are they insisting that its an injustice, a scandal, a crime?

Before you answer you should also check out Mr. Mays post on the Corner at NRO:

** A Corner exclusive: How many times have you read and heard in the mainstream media that terrorists were waterboarded more than 180 times? **

The AP Photo above by Manuel Balce Ceneta features activists demonstrating the waterboarding technique in front of the Justice Department. Should these protesters also be prosecuted for what might be an even more egregious crime…torturing an innocent human being?

Common people…what makes this a crime?
