Obama Goes After the Pirates!

In a show of raw unbridled power, President Obama today vowed to heavily tax the top 2% of pirates. “It’s outrageous that the top 2% of pirates should have 90% of the loot” Said Obama in his latest battle plans to redistribute the booty.

Nancy Pelosi followed his lead and said if the CEO’s of these pirate ships can’t do any better and cut their enormously bloated salaries we will have no choice but to nationalize their maritime industry.

Fed chief Tim Geithner had his say too and warned, “Their pirating has simply grown too big too fail. Too many are dependant on them for income and the consequences to the Somali economy would be too devastating! We must let the pirating continue as normal lest we throw the economy into depression. I think they should be eligible for TARP bailout money. We can’t let them fail!

On another front, Obama’s chief of staff, Rhom Emanuel tried to difuse criticism why the rescue of the hijacked American ship took so long. He said, “Well, first we had to check to be sure the pirates weren’t related to the President.”

ARGHHHHHHH!!!

BratC0013805.jpg Just a friendly little reminder from your Post Scripts hosts:

We understand that tempers can flair when issues of importance are being discussed. We know what it’s like to bang out our feelings with abandon and to want so badly to hit that enter button when we know it would be best to backspace and begin again. So please, go ahead and be demonstrative but try to keep a civil tongue! We will endeavor to do the same. Thank you.

THE GLENDALE TEA PARTY

glendale3292_1002801008253_1771681370_1205_775569_n.jpgSubmitted by Nancy D

I showed up at the site about 15 minutes early, and there was already a crowd. The space between the city hall and Broadway is relatively narrow, so I was surprised at the number of people that actually did show up. After it got underway, I would say a few hundred people were present. I thought more would show up but it pretty much stayed the same all afternoon.

It did seem to get somewhat busy but I think it was because they were all packed together to hear the few speakers we had. Soon it became difficult to get from one side of the crowd to the other, like I said though it was a pretty narrow place to have the rally. I’m guessing, but I think that the tight confinement of the spot kept others from attempting to show up. In one picture you can see how close we were to the street.

Overall the crowd was friendly, polite, and relaxed. I never saw any disrupter’s and only a few kooks who demanded the truth on 911. One thing that was very noticeable was how the mainstream media was out in force. At least three TV trucks and crews were in the crowd and as I was leaving a newspaper reporter asked for a quick interview (I had to decline, alas).

There were quite a few good signs, and most of them clearly homemade. This is what a grassroots movement looks like. Not the professionally printed signs you always see the protesters for the left carrying. The age of the crowd ranged from very young cute little kids to the elderly. I was really impressed with the number of college age students who made an appearance. Oh yea, if mainstream media decides to paint this as a whites-only rally, there was plenty of diversity to be found. Overall the crowd was not the largest Ive seen for rally’s held here, but it was substantial.

Well I hope that helps. I am no reporter and I am sure I left out a lot, but that will give you an idea of what it was like for this old gal at the Tea Party in Glendale California

Tea Party Effect?

teapotdst0013.jpgPosted by Tina

** WASHINGTON President Obama is running into stiff Congressional resistance to his plans to raise money for his ambitious agenda, and the resulting hole in the budget is threatening a major health care overhaul and other policy initiatives. The administrations central revenue proposal limiting the value of affluent Americans itemized deductions, including the one for charitable giving fell flat in Congress, leaving the White House, at least for now, without $318 billion New York Times **

Well, somethings got those critters in DC worried…keep up the pressure, pilgrims!

Torture in Perspective

Not. For. Torture. – Abe Greenwald, Commentary

** Strong>Whats torture? Theres no sense in ignoring the slippery boarders between tough interrogations and practices that should not carry the imprimatur of the United States of America. But if weighing the legal, moral, and historical implications makes torture harder, not easier, to identify, there is, I believe, a clear way through the morass. Hows this? . **

After reading this article I had an interesting experience with my female cat. She can be a bit feisty, in fact at times, way over the top; I have the scars to prove it. This morning I bent to stroke her as she lay on the floor in one of her famously fetching poses. She rolled to her back and suddenly grabbed my arm, claws out, and started to bite. I quickly grabbed her front leg and held it firmly. She immediately released her grip and decided it was better to back off and cooperate with me. I realized she acted instinctively, she sensed I could break her leg. What she didnt know for sure is whether I would do it.

Waterboarding is a similar exercise in the use of power and humane control. The subject ils placed under emotional stress but never physically harmed. The procedure is uncomfortablr and frightening. it plays on the instinct for survival. To call this pricedure torture is to diminish truly monsterous practices that have been documented throughout history.

The remainder of this post contains material that may be too graphic for some peoplecontinue at your own risk.

CRP Report

by Steve Thompson Chairman BCRP

Dear Friends,

As some of you know, yesterday the California Republican Party held an executive committee meeting to discuss our partys stand on the propositions in the upcoming special election.

As you may also have heard, our committee voted to take a stand against all of the propositions. As I am not only your local chairman of the Butte County Republican Party, but also a member of the executive committee, I feel it is important for you to know about this.

First and foremost, our opposition to Proposition 1A was our primary concern. Proposition 1A started with a good idea, placing a spending cap on the state Legislature, but was ruined with the poison pill of tying further tax increases to it.

First Boston Marathon – April 19th

Posted by Jack

On April 19, 1897, John J. McDermott of New York won the first Boston Marathon with a time of 2:55:10. Compare that to today, where most top runners today can do it in under 2:18, some do it in under 2:11.
