The stimulus bill is on its way into the American experience. It was conceived and written by democrats in power lead by Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and President Obama. Have you heard about the alternative stimulus plan that Republicans offered for consideration? No? Im not surprised. It was roundly rejected and deemed not worthy of consideration because, tah dah….I won, as the President declared.

Star Parker is an incredible woman who managed to climb out of poverty and the government dependence cart to become a free independent citizen. She wrote a book about her experiences called Uncle Sams Plantation. In it she describes the destructive efects that welfare programs have had on the black community. I hope youll take time to read what she has to say about the direction that Washington is now taking us. Heres a sample:

Uncle Sam has welcomed our banks onto the plantation and they have said, “Thank you, Suh.” *** Now, instead of thinking about what creative things need to be done to serve customers, they are thinking about what they have to tell Massah in order to get their cash. *** There is some kind of irony that this is all happening under our first black president on the 200th anniversary of the birthday of Abraham Lincoln.

Obama executive order favors union labor, by Sam Hananel

** Washington – President Barack Obama on Friday issued an executive order backing the use of union labor for large-scale federal construction projects. The order encourages federal agencies to have construction contractors and subcontractors enter project labor agreements. Those agreements require contractors to negotiate with union officials, recognize union wages and benefits and generally abide by collective-bargaining agreements. *** “Project labor agreements are a win-win for everyone involved,” said James Hoffa, president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. “Contractors get highly trained, skilled labor with fixed costs, and workers are fairly compensated with their rights and safety protected.” **

Everyone” involved? Sorry Mr. Big Bucks, Big Union Hoffa but youre full of beans. Im one of the everyone paying the bills and I think it will cost me big time. I will get BIG infrastructure at twice the price (or more). Good training does not depend on membership in a union. Safety does not depend on union membership. Good work does not depend union workers.

What the president has done is limit the number of contractors who will bid these jobs and cause the price tag to skyrocket. We will get less infrastructure per dollar spent. Nice going junior achievement!

Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter. Senator Tom Daschle, Congressional Record, May 7th, 1998, page S4507. On Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009, Daschle withdrew his name from consideration for a cabinet post in the Obama administration, because, as a tax cheat, he cheated us all.
