Dying in Kentucky – FEMA Slow Prez…No Show

Obama hates white people and wants them to die, by Rick Moran – American Thinker

** With nearly 1.5 million people in the mid-west without power during a cold snap, what other possible reason is there that this new “competent” administration and FEMA would be failing so spectacularly in helping in this natural disaster? *** Of course, I am just aping what lefty blogs were saying about Bush less than 24 hours after Katrina’s hurricane winds stopped blowing. But AP is reporting that Midwest disaster relief people are none too pleased with our new president’s FEMA. *** In Kentucky’s Grayson County, there are 25 National Guardsmen there to help – but no chain saws to cut away fallen limbs and trees. EM Director Randell Smith is quoted as saying, “We’ve got people out in some areas we haven’t even visited yet,” Smith said. “We don’t even know that they’re alive.” *** Smith is also quoted as saying that FEMA is a “no show.”**

The President spent the evening Saturday at a black tie dinner…Sunday he will host a Super Bowl Party. Should we be upset? Should we be making outrageous claims against the President? The American Thinker story demonstrates precisely why the right cannot afford to be complacent, gentlemanly, generous, cooperative or even decent. If the story about Katrina had been told with accuracy and respect for President Bush and FEMA…this ugly “truth mirror” would not need to be raised!

Obama Praises Iraqis

“Obama praises Iraqis on provincial elections” – AP

** President Barack Obama is congratulating Iraqis on their provincial elections. *** He says the elections for provincial councils were significant and peaceful. The president calls the voting an important step forward as Iraqis continue taking responsibility for their future. *** Obama notes that the U.S. provided technical assistance to the Iraqi electoral commission, as did the U.N. and other international groups. **

This is the best our new president and the AP can do? It wasn’t that long ago that we were (still) debating the wisdom of implementing the surge in Iraq:

Arnolds Folly – Californias Fate

The flailing fiscal fate of California has been further solidified by the Governors stubborn, foolish global warming regulatory stance. The state of our state makes it perfectly clear…this is no time to dig in our heels on cap and trade.

California’s ‘Green Jobs’ Experiment Isn’t Going Well, by Stephen Moore – WSJ

** Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was all smiles in 2006 when he signed into law the toughest anti-global-warming regulations of any state. Mr. Schwarzenegger and his green supporters boasted that the regulations would steer California into a prosperous era of green jobs, renewable energy, and technological leadership. Instead, since 2007 — in anticipation of the new mandates — California has led the nation in job losses. **

Knowing the Enemy Taking a Stand

Posted by Tina

We read and hear about the war from journalists who may or may not know what theyre talking about. Clearly much of the reporting on the Iraq war was about why we should get out, or why Bush was failing, with very little about the enemy we faced, the efforts of our troops, or the people that our troops were endeavoring to liberate. In depth stories that focus on knowledge gained or reveal the motivations and fears that accompany war have been scant. Those interested in the first hand experiences and insights of individuals who fight this war will enjoy the following article posted at National Review Online:

Be Not Afraid – Terrorists rely on intimidation and deception. We cant be fooled, and we must resist, by Gabriel Ledeen NRO

** Evils strength lies in its ability to intimidate. I saw this truth play out during my two tours in Iraq, as al-Qaeda dominated the spirit of Anbars Sunni population. The mighty Sunni Awakening movement represented the rejection of the oppression and intimidation the population had been enduring at the hands of al-Qaeda. As Sheikh Abdul Sattar Abu Risha said of his movement, We Sunnis had to convince ourselves. After all, their instincts and traditions had told them that we were the outsiders and therefore had to be worse than al-Qaedas Muslim operatives. **

10 Things You should Avoid Saying

1. Green: Environmental buzzwords are getting the axe this year. “Green” and “going green” received the most nominations. If something is good for the environment, just say so. As Kermit the Frog would say, “It isn’t easy being green.”

2. Carbon footprint: When you hear this word, do you envision microscopic impressions on the surface of the earth where an atom of carbon forgot to wear its shoes? Leaving a carbon footprint is the newest way to be politically incorrect.

Buy American Sparks Heated Debate

By David Goldman CNNMoney.com

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — A debate is brewing at home and abroad over an economic stimulus measure that would require materials used in the program’s infrastructure projects to be purchased from American companies.

In the $819 billion House bill passed Wednesday, the so-called “Buy American” provision would, with some notable exceptions, ensure that only U.S.-produced iron and steel be used for construction. It expands on a 76-year-old federal law. The Senate, which is likely to take up stimulus next week, would go even further, effectively requiring that any products and equipment be American-made.

Fun Facts (Reprint from Post Scripts 2006)

In the 1400’s a law was set forth that a man was not allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb. Hence we have “the rule of thumb”

Many years ago in Scotland, a new game was invented. It was ruled “Gentlemen Only…Ladies Forbidden”…and thus the word GOLF entered into the English language

CONJURING UP NEW CIVIL RIGHTS

By Bruce Sessions

********** FRIDAY SPECIAL *************

abruce.jpgOne of the many campaign promises put forth by Barak Obama included health care for all. It was an easy promise to make and a gullible public ate it up. Health care is a civil right.no one should be denied health careever, for any reason. Yep, they ate it up totally oblivious to the warnings regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

Weve been hearing for years about how entitlement spending is nearing bankruptcy. In spite of that, the Bush administration caved and added another entitlement when it comes to prescription drugs. Ah yes, but the call for health care for all, as a civil right can still be heard.

No action from Obama on it yet, but he has put forth a stimulus package saying The nation is at a perilous moment, requiring swift and decisive action to get the economy moving again. We dont have a moment to spare. Buried on page 147 of the economic stimulus bill earmarks 335 MILLION DOLLARS for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.

Just exactly HOW that will stimulate the economy escapes me at the moment, but in the past, the Centers for Disease Control has used STD education funding for such programs as Booty Call and Great Sex to the tune of $698,000 in government funds (read taxpayer money.)

Seems to me, if the 335 million dollars for STD prevention were added to the 698 thousand dollars for sex parties, the millions set aside to re-sod the Washing Mall, along with all the other stuff on the stimulus wish list we might well be on our way to providing health care for all.

Then, once that new entitlement is added to the current list of entitlements, we should start thinking in terms of a civil right to keep warm during the winter. After all.were human beings and keeping warm shouldnt be predicated on our ability to pay PG&E. It should be a civil right, and the government should pay our winter heating bills.

but why stop there? Summer is coming, and dont we have a right.a civil rightto be cool in the summer?
