ACLU – Anti-American Communist Lunatics United

Posted by Jack Lee

1292-ist1_3994351-gavel-flag.jpgIt has indeed become a strange world when lawyers acting in concert and under the banner of civil liberties turn on Mayors and Governors and sue them for enforcing the immigration law. And worse, the people they represent are not American citizens nor even legal visitors with green cards…they are illegal aliens! This is nonsense and completely backwards!

Currently the ACLU is suing to block enforcement of RI governor’s order requiring electronic immigration checks in Rhode Island. The lawsuit, filed by the state branch of the American Civil Liberties Union, challenges an executive order that Carcieri signed in March to clamp down on illegal immigration.

AZ, the ACLU is now suing the City of Cave Creek over day laborer law. The city was desperate to halt the influx of illegal aliens who congregate on street corners as day laborers and take jobs from locals while imposing economic burdens on the city from high crime to healthcare. So the city passed a law to prevent day laborers from standing on the roadside and ask for work or money from passing drivers. The ACLU is representing the illegals and forcing the cash strapped City into paying costly legal fees or risk losing a multi-million dollar suit.

The ACLU has just filed suit against the people of Hazelton, Penn. Mayor Lou Barletta said his city was in under seige from illegal aliens. Barletta said, “Illegal aliens in our City create an economic burden that threatens our quality of life. With a growing problem and a limited budget, I could not sit back any longer and allow this to happen. I needed to act. Enough was enough! ” So he authored a City ordinance that called for the enforcement of US laws, and you can read the ordinance on page 2. The was a refreshing departure from the sanctuary cities that defy US law. Unfortunately for his reward Mayor Barletta and the City of Hazelton are being sued by the ACLU who are representing the illegal aliens free of charge. The ACLU hopes to recover several million dollars in a settlement with the city.

Mayor Barletta said, “I hope the steps were taking in Hazleton to defend ourselves will inspire others to become small town defenders.” The ACLU has other ideas.

Economics & Election Choices

Posted by Tina

Would you appreciate some insight into which presidential candidate has the better economic proposals? If so please read the article, “If You Like Michigans Economy, Youll Love Obamas, by Phil Gramm and Mike Salon published in the Wall Street Journal online.

Despite the federal government’s growing economic dominance, individual states still exercise substantial freedom in pursuing their own economic fortune — or misfortune. As a result, the states provide a laboratory for testing various policies. *** In this election year, the experience of the states gives us some ability to look at the economic policies of the two presidential candidates in action. If a program is not playing in Peoria, it probably won’t work elsewhere. Americans have voted with their feet by moving to states with greater opportunities, but federal adoption of failed state programs would take away our ability to walk away from bad government. *** Growth in jobs, income and population are proof that a state is prospering. But figuring out why one state does well while another struggles requires in-depth analysis. *** Ranking states by domestic migration, per-capita income growth and employment growth, ALEC found that from 1996 through 2006, Texas, Florida and Arizona were the three most successful states. Illinois, Ohio and Michigan were the three least successful.

Why Are Dems After Palin?

Posted by Jack

Why are the democrats really so concerned about Palin, so much so they are hitting her harder than McCain? Here is one possible answered offered up by Dick Morris and EIlene McGann.

“Democrats can’t stomach seeing the feminist movement’s impetus for greater female political participation and empowerment “hijacked” by a pro-life woman who espouses traditional values. They must obliterate her, lest her popularity eat away at their party’s core.”

War News

The war in Iraq has gone well and there is finally room to be hopeful about a positive outcome. As reported by Fox News, the general who has made this possible shared his thoughts as he walked through the streets of Baghdad talking with the local people:

Petraeus ‘Hopeful’ on Final Battlefield Tour as Commander in Iraq FOX News

To watch Gen. David Petraeus work the crowds in Baghdads markets, one might think he was running for local office. But as Petraeus greeted locals in Arabic and shook hands Wednesday, he was on his final battlefield tour of the country before handing over command of U.S.-led forces in Iraq next week and taking on a new job as head of Central Command. *** “We think right now (Al Qaeda) is still clinging to the idea that they could revive Al Qaeda in Iraq,” he said. *** But Wednesday, the U.S. military in Baghdad released details of intercepted communications that commanders said were made between Al Qaeda No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahiri and Al Qaeda leadership in Iraq. The group reportedly complained of being unable to raise money, recruit or receive support from locals. *** ”No support for Al Qaeda” is something Petraeus says he hears in conversations every day , and numerous times in the Shorja market. *** “You give us our freedom, and we will give you our friendship peace with you,” one local told Petraeus in the market Wednesday.

Al Qaeda in Iraq? Oh yeah, I forgot, we won that argument months ago. But I digress.

POLL SHOWS McCAIN WAY AHEAD

Posted by Jack

The long running AOL straw poll represents all 50 states and over 150,000 have cast their ballots. McCain is ahead by 20% in every state except Hawaii. You knew Hawaii would vote for Obama, it’s more a racist, socialist thing for them than really caring about what’s good for America.

A little off topic, but most Hawaiians barely consider themselves part of the USA. They feel more like an independent nation hoodwinked into becoming a possession of the US. That goes a long way to explain their support for Obama.
