Hope” Defined in Obama Campaign

Since one of our friends on the blog recently called me stupid because of my support for Sarah Palin I thought it would be fun to post a clip from a journalist who agrees with him. Naturally, Ill then have a few things to say…

Sarah Palin is a woman. Hillary Clinton is a woman. Women just love voting for other women. Women candidates are interchangeable. Therefore, women who would have voted for Clinton are obviously going to vote for Palin. If this syllogism strikes you as stupid, that’s because it is. – Jessica Reaves, Chicago Tribune

What an idiot. Women candidates are interchangeable” is what she thinks we think…wrong!

Feminists, diehard Hillary supporters, and disgruntled feminized democrat males are lining up to insist that McCains choice of Sarah Palin will not attract women who were planning to vote for Hillary. Armed with typical scorn they continue to declare her unqualified and unprepared. They insist she is a token woman placed on the ticket for political reasons rather than for her skills and achievement. The topper, however, is the laughable admonishment that she should act like a good little woman and go back to Alaska to tend hearth and home. This tripe could be excused since these people never have understood how conservatives think. But we really shouldnt excuse them ; their remarks are condescending, bigoted and blatantly hypocritical.

Instead we should…well…laugh at them! (They have called us stupid after all.)

It isnt diehard Hillary supporters that will make the difference in this race. Most of them will likely vote for Obama once they calm down. The group that matters is the women in the middle…the leaners for Hillary and the undecideds…they are a different story. These are the voters Obama and McCain both need to win. Now that Palin is aboard the Republican ticket McCains chances to win those votes is greatly enhanced. (The blowhards know that or they wouldnt be trying so hard to destroy palin and her family.)

So get over it Jessica Reaves, Gloria Steinham, et al. Feminists dont speak for all women. Palin is attractive not only to many, many women in the middle, she is also attractive to a lot of men in the middle, some of whom have been scurrilously mischaracterized and ill-treated by feminists throughout the years. Men and women love her and that makes Palin a supreme threat to feminists who will just have to get used to the idea that a conservative woman will get there first.

Somehow I think twisted attempts to destroy Sarah Palin for daring to aspire to the Vice Presidency (without being a hard core feminist) will not help them win the argument or votes…but gee, they can always…HOPE.
