The American Can-Do Spirit Works

Barack Obama and John McCain have very divergent approaches to government. They see America differently and so their designs for Americas future are also different.

One candidate believes our nation is made up of folk who are weak and needy, greedy and mean. His solution to brighten this dark portrait is to punish the greedy and promise the weak and needy help through an expanded federal government. Big government, we are promised, will guarantee fairness and put greedy achievers in their places. We are told that this will somehow unify Americans making them kind and nice. Its a philosophy that comes from looking out across the land and seeing only misery, selfishness and want. Where is the love in that? Where is the hope? Where is the patriot spirit?

The other candidate believes that Americans are hard working productive people who willingly share and contribute to others. He sees a nation of people with the kind of strength and grit to see them through tough times. This America is the America built by our ancestors, an America that has been a source of hope for others around the world. This candidate believes that small, efficient government will unleash the power, strength and grit, the innovative can do spirit, of the American people. He believes that Americans have demonstrated their kindness and inclusiveness over the years through actions and deeds and will continue to thrive and share if government acts as servant rather than master.

This election is not about the two people running for office. Its about the two visions and philosophies these candidates have about America. The pioneers overcame great hardships and challenges, crossing rivers, deserts, the vast prairie and huge mountain ranges to open the west. Like the pioneers in our heritage, the American people, not our government, will fuel recovery from the problems we face. We will roll up our sleeves, get to work and provide prosperity and opportunity for everyone. We are the answer to our own problems. The can-do spirit works.

So which America do you want to live in? Which America do you believe will be a beacon unto the world? Which America has the best chance to grow, prosper and lead in the challenges that lie ahead?

Elect McCain * Palin
