This second part is not intended to steal Tina’s thunder for her excellent article (Part I) as noted below, but just to inform our citizens how our gun rights have slowly been stolen from you by antigun zealots who don’t know the first thing about weapons or have been seduced by a lot false anti-gun propaganda coming from the far left.
Here in California you instantly become a criminal if you have any one of the many scores of semi-automatic rifles, pistols and shotguns that are declared illegal by some small technicality where it might be otherwise legal. But, technicality or not, it’s still enough to get you tossed in the clink. . . if you own one!
California law also allows the state Department of Justice to ban even more semi-autos by regulation and has recently passed a stealthy law to ban “unsafe firearms” which means basically any firearm they have their sights set on could be banned.
California and New Jersey have gone so far as to pass gun bans based on futuristic technology. California recently passed a law to prohibit the sale of new models of semi-automatic handguns that dont micro-stamp identifying information on the fired cartridge case!
Even if you merely own a magazine (clip) that holds more than 10 bullets (rounds) you can be charged with a crime and thrown in jail!
Obama has voiced support for bans on handguns, on many semi-autos and on standard-capacity magazines. Hes supported micro-stamping, waiting periods and rationing of gun purchases. Hes stated his opposition to Right-to-Carry laws. And hes supported a ban on gun stores within five miles of a school or parka proposal that would shut down gun sales in nearly the entire inhabited United States.
