Keep a Close Eye on BIG HOLLYWOOD

Andrew Breitbart has just launched a new conservative website and blog, Big Hollywood. I welcome and applaud these talented Americans from the entertainment industry to the web world. Hollywood has not been particularly friendly or open to the conservative point of view, in fact they’ve been downright hostile, so some of these folks are taking a personal risk. Give em He** guys and…break a leg!

Find a few excerpts from “BIG HOLLYWOOD” under the fold:

We Must Hang Together or We Will All Hang Seperately, by John Ziegler

** I believe that a complementary relationship between those who are just now slowly coming out and those of us who are already battle scarred and hardened is absolutely vital to our side having any chance in the message/information war which is currently raging, and in which we have been getting creamed, for far too long. *** And make no mistake this is a war we are in. One of the many reasons we are losing so badly is that their side gets this, our side does not. *** When you are in a battle like this (even one that usually doesnt involve real bullets, but rather only the verbal variety) you need generals, infantry and diplomats all working in coordination and in the best interest of the team. In my experience, our forces are largely disorganized, discouraged and in disarray. Consequently, our soldiers, through little fault of their own, are forced to act out of their own survival instincts rather than out of what might be good for the cause. **

Enter Stage Right, by Stage Right

** It was a cold November evening in 1994 when I shut off my television and went to a board meeting of a Los Angeles service organization for theatre owners and producers. I had just heard the news that for the first time in almost 50 years, both houses of congress would be under the leadership of the Republican party, MY party. I remember vividly feeling the hope and optimism that for the first time in my life, the Speaker of the House would have the same party affiliation as I had, and my father had. *** There was a spring in my step walking to the board room. In the back of my mind I wondered to myself if I should violate my vow of silence about politics in front of colleagues whom I did not have full faith and trust in. Surely this sweeping victory signified that it was ok to vote Republican. Surely now I could admit that I had some sympathy for a more center-right perspective on politics. Yes, Ill mention it during the wine and cheese portion of the meeting *** I opened the door and realized that I was not at a board meeting, I was at a funeral. Everything but black armbands…. **

Hollywood on the Recession: Told You So, by Shillue

** Have you heard? *** According to this story in the Guardian, Hollywood is geared up and ready for the recession, and it seems they are eager to entertain us with a series of big-budget I told you sos. *** Baz Luhrmann is all set to mount a re-make of The Great Gatsby because, according to him, People will need an explanation of where we are and where weve been, and The Great Gatsby can provide that explanation. *** Oh, boy. Here we go again. Do I really need another lesson in why the American dream is a charade, and our materialism leads to emptiness and despair? Ive heard this all before. **
