Philanthropy and Its Enemies – Activists want to redistribute foundation wealth based on racial quotas, by Naomi Schaefer Riley Wall Street Journal

** Nonprofit leaders are reeling from the recent news that President Barack Obama’s proposed budget would limit tax deductions on charitable contributions from wealthy Americans. But now the philanthropic world has something else to worry about. Today the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP), a research and advocacy group, will release a report offering “benchmarks to assess foundation performance.” Its real aim is to push philanthropic organizations into ignoring donor intent and instead giving grants based on political considerations. **

Activism is a form of bullying. Rather than use energies to better themselves and others in their communities, activists prefer to pressure organizations and businesses through intimidation . Rather than build businesses, organizations and wealth, they prefer to use the power of government to force wealth transfer or destroy competition. Rather than taking pride in working together to build prosperity they prefer to join together to tear down, and sometims steal, what others have built.

If we continue to let ourselves be intimidated by various bands of acquisitive bullies like ACORN, some Environmental groups, the NCRP and others, we will find our nation irreversibly shattered. We will become a nation totally lacking in freedom and opportunity and devoid of true diversity, creativity, aliveness and productivity.
