THE SECOND AMERICAN REVOLUTION

by Jack Lee

There’s something happening in this country that is scaring the leftists into a mocking frenzy. Anytime the liberals fear someone or something they mock it. Ronald Reagan was called Ronald Ray-gunz, the Tea Party people were slandered as tea baggers, Rush Limbaugh was labeled an out of control buffoon (yet he

held the highest ratings in radio) and now comes Glenn Beck. Beck’s message is one of restoring honor to America by promoting Christian values and giving our children heroes they can look up too. That outrageous message is the ultimate fodder for mockability. John Stuart has turned most of his political parody to deriding and mocking Glenn Beck and the more he does, the more powerful Beck becomes.

The right is mocked for being the party of no because they want fiscal restraint, your average American is mocked and called bigot for wanting secure borders and controlled immigration. Average Americans were again mocked and called homophobes for wanting to keep marriage between a man and a woman. The average American is strongly in support of Arizona’s attempt to deport illegal aliens whom the left mischaracterizes as xenophobic. The leftists have chastised them severely. But, when the rabid left starts mocking the average American and the issues they support they are really awakening a sleeping giant.

The radical left and their socialist agenda, with all their hate, division, corruption and bureaucratic policies is what has spurred on a backlash of tens of millions of people to suddenly appear on the political horizon, like an army ready to do battle. Tea Party activists and their numbers are growing daily and their influence is being felt in Washington, known for its self-centered indifference to the will of the people.

This ground swell of activism is what has leftists in a state of apoplectic shock, so much so that they have desperately resorted to old tactics like hate mongering through race baiting and class warfare. But, this old communist rhetoric is having an unintended and completely reverse effect. Their opposition is growing stronger and they are clueless to explain why?

The far left just doesn’t get how someone like Glenn Beck can call for a rally in Washington D.C. and have nearly a half million people show up and cheer at his every word. Beck’s camp outnumbered a leftist counter-rally by La Raza and Al Sharpton, et al, by 5 to 1. Ironically, the vitriol in their rabid leftwing hate speeches only reflected their fear and frustration with Beck and his followers.

I have no idea where this is all going, but if I could guess I think we’re in the beginning of a great moral revolution where faith, traditional family values and patriotism are uniting patriots across America in a way that hasn’t been seen since our first revolution.

The average American is fed up and they willing to take extreme measures to restore America’s idealism and put us back on track to a free society with a limit governance and a judicial system that respects the Constitution.

Thomas Jefferson was right when he said, “”God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. …And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”

On a local level we at Post Scripts have been mocked from time to time. This post is bound to push a few buttons with all that talk of revolution and blood. I don’t know about you but when someone around me becomes that agitated I begin to pay attention to what he hasto say because obviously something important is about to reveal itself. Crowds of Americans have a message for leadership and our fellow Americans…wisdom suggests it’s time to pay attention…REPECTFULLY!

I want to take this opportunity thank those who participate on Post Scripts that have choosen to engage in discussion and debate. Even contentious debate, which is something we welcome and enjoy, is more honorable and worthwhile than the haughtiness of dismissal, derision and name calling.

I read something wonderful this morning that reflected on quotes from MLK. Using the letter as a model the writer concluded:

When the oppressor bars the oppressed from enjoying any of the G-d given liberties to which we were entrusted by the Constitution, then we are enslaved.

When the government dictates how we live our lives, then we are enslaved.

When an elite political class seeks to control us and enacts legislation that hurts us and to which they themselves aren’t bound — like health care — then we are enslaved.

When the party in power can tell private corporations how much they can compensate their employees, then we are enslaved.

When the ruling class can throw elaborate parties, vote themselves a salary increase, send their kids to private school, and preserve their own private healthcare insurance, while depriving us of the same and imposing onerous taxes on the people, then we are enslaved.

  2. Quentin Colgan says:

And who is going to help in your revolution?
The corporations that sponsor your TEA party?
The original tea party was a protest AGAINST multinational corporations.
Getting into bed WITH multinational corporations is NOT going to get you a revolution! That would be like asking King George III to help with the first revolution!
It is going to get you laughed at–which is what 90% of Americans do when they watch you guys.
BTW, Glenn Beck has already said that Christian values are equal to Nazi/Communist values, so he needs to be a little clearer on what he means when he says he wants us to return to God.

  3. Post Scripts says:

Well the cats out of the bag now, yes the Tea Party has sold out to the multinational corporations, and you forgot to say the Trilateralists and the Bildebergers. Each Tea Party member has secretly taken a blood oath to obey their corporate handlers in exchange for a magic silver coin and a decoder ring. And yes, Glenn Beck says all the time that Christian values are equal to Nazi/Communist values…that’s why he is so popular, he’s got the Christians, the Nazi’s and the Communists eating out of his hand.

Now Quentin when you are prepared to be serious I will be too.

  4. Tina says:

Q: “The corporations that sponsor your TEA party?”

    What corporations?

“The original tea party was a protest AGAINST multinational corporations.”

    How so?

“Getting into bed WITH multinational corporations is NOT going to get you a revolution! That would be like asking King George III to help with the first revolution!”

Please share with our readers where this idea is coming from…show us the evidence!

“It is going to get you laughed at–which is what 90% of Americans do when they watch you guys.”

Once again, show our readers the evidence that this is actually true!

“BTW, Glenn Beck has already said that Christian values are equal to Nazi/Communist values…”

Our readers need a link or video to prove this is representative of what Beck actually said if you are going to have any credibility at all.

“…so he needs to be a little clearer on what he means when he says he wants us to return to God.

I’d say you need to be a little clearer if you’re going to make such wild assertions.

    Jack….:D

I heard that the Beck rally garnered 10s … not 100s, and certainly not millions.

We know an opportunistic dweeb when we see one, praise be to the Goddess.

  6. Tina says:

Libby “We know an opportunistic dweeb when we see one, praise be to the Goddess.”

    Yeah, all two of you.

  7. Chris says:

Jack: “The far left just doesn’t get how someone like Glenn Beck can call for a rally in Washington D.C. and have nearly a half million people show up”

No, what I don’t understand is where the heck you’re getting that number from.

CBS News reports that it was only about 87,000, which is nowhere near half a million.

Keep in mind that the original 8/28 rally hosted by MLK only drew about 300,000. It’s extremely unlikely that Beck’s little unofficial Tea Party somehow drew more of an audience than the most well-known civil rights march in our nation’s history.

Of course, Michelle Bachmann claims that anyone who says there were less than 1 million people at the rally is lying. More proof that she would be better suited to a loony bin than to a powerful position in politics.

Estimates vary but the aerial photos cannot be denied. Becks event and the Tea Party event last year were both overflowing crouds that at least equaled the Dream speech crowd give or take a few folk.

History Channel Store estimated 200,000 at the Dream speech.

    http://store.aetv.com/html/product/index.jhtml?id=130700&name=The+Civil+Rights+Movement+/+I+Have+A+Dream

CS Monitor has a good article on various events and crowd size:

    http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Politics/The-Vote/2010/0830/Glenn-Beck-rally-attendance-calculating-how-many-really-showed-up

It’s interesting how different the estimates can be. A British paper printed a calculation, made by one of their organizations that does that kind of thing, about the TP event last year and their number was around a million if I remember correctly…much different from what our press was reporting. We posted pictures of both the TP event and the Million Man event on PS and they were quite similar looking.

Who cares what the actual numbers are…a comparison of the photo’s show BIG overflowing crowds. Maybe Michelle Bachmann is just of British heritage!

The most amazing thing about this, for one who has watched leftist protests for decades, is that anyone or anything could get that many conservatives fired up enough to travel to DC…and that, my dear, is what has these people scared and/or arguing about the number. A lot of those on the left watching (or reporting) witnessed the same thing I did and never heard a peep from the opposition.

It’s like having Dad come down the hall after Mom has yelled “you kids to go to bed” five times…YIKES!

  9. Post Scripts says:

When I wrote that I wasn’t sure how many showed up Chris, I just pulled that number from a couple of news sources that said there was somewhere between 250-500,000 and they were more or less guessing too.

However, and this just me and you talking, no partisan BS involved. You know as well as I do that the far left will deliberately under-report whatever the numbers are whenver they have the chance. They hate people like Beck and the Tea Party and they’ve done it time after time. So because of that under reporting garbage I decided to use the highest estimate…kinda out of spite, not because I thought it was absolutely accurate…my bad? Maybe.

Now get this…and here’s a report from the NY Daily and they talked about the low estimated you quoted: “Event organizers, who had a permit for 300,000 people, estimated there were 500,000 in the “enormous and impassioned” crowd, according to the New York Times. (There you go Chris, you wanted to know where I got my number there’s one source and I heard it repeated several times on the radio)

CBS put the figure much lower, based on an analysis of crowd photos done by the firm AirPhotosLive.com. The company examined photos taken around noon, at the peak of the event, and determined that between 78,000 and 96,000 people were in attendance.

Rally attendees filled six blocks, according to CNN, which compared the task of counting the crowd to guessing how many jelly beans are inside a huge jar.

ABC reported “more than 100,000” people in the crowd, while NBC Nightly News said “tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands” had traveled far and wide to be part of the event.

The Associated Press gave a conservative estimate, describing the “sea of people standing shoulder to shoulder” as a crowd numbering “tens of thousands.”

Fox News called the turnout “strong” but didn’t report a hard figure, instead referring to “huge crowds” and the “thousands in attendance.”

The rallys hosts, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, reported high estimates for the day.

Sarah Palin’s Facebook page claims the event “drew an estimated crowd of 300,000 – 500,000,” and Beck told Fox News Sunday he thought it was between 300,000 and 600,000.

The National Park Service used to provide official estimates of crowd figures, but stopped in 1997 after being accused of underestimating the attendees at the 1995 Million Man March.

Beck jokingly stayed modest on Saturday, as he told his flood of fans he had “just gotten word from the media that there are over a thousand people here today.”

He later told the crowd that more than 400,000 people had showed up.”

So there you go Chris, do you still believe that low number? I don’t and I don’t really care what the number was, but what I do care about is somebody using a small number to demean the event. I think after reading a number of reports that the crowd number obviously reached more than CBS was willing to report and was smaller than the origanizers believed.
