Can You Spot What’s Missing?

The following is a quote from a talk President Obama gave at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute on Friday. I’m sure you will recognize it as from the United States Declaration of Independence…but can you spot what is missing? It is an important group of words and hard to miss…probably something even a fifth grader would know. Are you smarter than a fifth grader?

“We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal….. endowed with certain unalienable rights, life and liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”

See…I know…what’s up with that?!!!

To be fair, he did end his speech with “God Bless America”. I just thought I’d take a shot as a little tribute to Dan Quail and GWB.

    Now that you’ve done your smarta** routine…what did our President, the (latest) smartest man in the world, leave out?

    I don’t base my life on what the corporatists at FAUX and Friends tell me.

    No, you wouldn’t have room for FOX or any other source in that gilded jar in the closet where all original thought resides with you.

    Hmmm…someone consumed with fascism and the Tea Party should be concerned with this particular omission. It is the one word that expresses the endowment of your rights!

    Carlin is a funny, crude, confused man.

    While it is true that big business spends a lot to try to influence legislation it is not true that they always get what they want and it is also not true that all corporations want the same thing. Corporations are also not alone in spending copious amounts of money to influence government. Public and private sector unions and leftist special interest groups also spend big as do law firms/associations. The pressure on our representatives comes from many different interests and sources. The screed against corporations is just another big government leftist loving tactic to divide Americans by creating a boogie man.

    As for media, the only danger to Americans occurs when all sources speak with the same scripted voice. This was happening for quite a long time but the alaphabet channels and A/P newspapers weren’t fooling all of the people and they have since been resoundingly challenged.

    Carlins opinion about Americans being dumb (not as smart as he) matches your own; I’m not surprised you think he’s tops.
