This is not unusual for the overly dramatic leftists, so the comments really don’t surprise me, but the timing sure did – this character is about as stupid as they come.

  2. Quentin Colgan says:

I understand it is not unusual for shooting victims to issue these kind of statements, either!!!
SOME people just can’t get over getting shot!
    What’s wrong with them?
OTOH, maybe he just meant his TEA party antagonist was already dead on the inside.
    You Betcha! (wink, wink!)

Quentin, pulleeeese….I’m a retired police detective and I was trained in homicide investigations and I worked with a number of shooting victims. I never heard of that! Where oh where did that come from??? lol C’mon Q…lets be real.

I have listened to the comments made by this individual.
Obviously, he has been influenced by the MSM and hasnt had the opportunity to find out the facts in this case. I will however, pardon him for his outburst because I do believe he is suffering a type of post traumatic syndrome.
This does not excuse the comments made by Quentin Colgan.
It seems to me that QC is still playing the blame game.

I read some comments from this guy on Media Matters the day before the death threat, and while I thought he started off with some good points, he veered way off the deep end when he started directly blaming Palin and other conservatives for the shooting, and started engaging in exactly the same type of over-the-top rhetoric that he was criticizing others for. This threat is, of course, worse than anything Palin has ever said, and I am glad the authorities are taking it seriously. It’s really a shame to see a victim of such a tragedy act in a way that only encourages more violence to occur.

Quentin, you’re seriously reaching for possible interpretations of his threat, and you would never do so if this were a conservative. No one likes it when someone like this turns out to be from “their side,” but that’s no excuse for hypocrisy or for justifying violent rhetoric.

pal, what do you mean by your statement that this guy was influenced by the mainstream media? Do you have examples of mainstream media figures explicitly blaming Sarah Palin or the Tea Party for what happened? The closest I can think of is Paul Krugman, but I wouldn’t consider him a mainstream figure. The reports I saw on networks such as ABC reported that some were speculating a right-wing extremist, but this was in large part because of Giffords’ earlier remarks that Palin’s “crosshairs” map could lead to violence. I disagree with Giffords on this, but the fact that she mentioned it and then became a target of violence made the possible connection newsworthy, even though it turned out to be someone who was not inspired by Palin or the Tea Party.
