Russians Kill Pirates – R Rated

This graphic video shows Russian Navy commandos on a Somalian pirate ship shortly after the pirates had captured a Russian oil tanker. The Euro Union navy that patrols these waters would not interfere because they feared there could be casualties. So the Russian Navy Commandos freed their compatriots and the tanker…. and then moved the pirates back to their own pirate ship. The Russians searched the pirate ship for weapons and explosives… and they found plenty! Then they left the ship and exploded it with all remaining pirates hand-cuffed to it. If the explosion didn’t kill them the huge fire that followed did. They were over 50 miles from land in shark infested waters, so no chance of any lucky survivors swimming back either. The Russians sank the pirate ship along with the pirates and without any court proceedings, lawyers, etc. They used the anti-piracy laws of the 18th and 19th centuries where the captain of the rescuing ship has the right to decide what to do with the pirates. Usually, they were hanged. This time they were blown up and burned to death and that means there is zero chance they will ever resort to piracy again. Yep, they were all reformed. Way to go Russia.

Justice was swift. Wonder if the news of this reached the other pirates and if they’re thinking twice about their next act of piracy.

No doubt every pirate in Somalia knows by now you don’t try to hijack anything flying a Russian flag.

Gee, why can’t we just be more like Russia? Then we wouldn’t have to deal with pesky little things like fair trials and human rights.

This post is un-American and revolting in it’s glee over execution.

Don’t blame PS Chris, blame me! I totally approved when those pirates were blown up!

Maybe you would have preferred those pirates be kept our prison for the next 50-60 years and that we should all be stuck with the bill, but thankfully this wasn’t your call. The Capt. blew em up and it was over.

I have no problem with Russians blowing up pirates when and where they find them. I’m sorry if that upsets you. However, you are free to wring your hands and think what a horrible person I am. But, they’re still dead – and I’m still glad they are, if every pirate was vaporized by tomorrow the world would be a better place.

Jack a very good case can be made for the necessity of this action being precipitated by the morals and values of leftist thinkers the world over.

When the rule of law becomes a weapon to be used against the just (and in defense of the unjust) it is a dangerous and foolish thing indeed. Pirates have been laughing to themselves…”what are they gonna do, kill us? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! those westerners are soooo soft, it’ll never happen!”

Laws have been designed so that we may live in relative peace and security. When we cross fail to punish we undermine the laws and principles that hold societies together, but more importantly, we actually lend support and encouragement to those who engage in criminal activity.

Over the past fifty or sixty years the left has pressed for excessive sympathy and excuses making when dealing with criminal elements. They cannot abide the “cruelty” of the death penalty, for instance, and yet are quite willing to tolerate the increase in criminal activity that tolerance, disdain for moral teaching, and misplaced sympathies create. Victims are forgotten and buried under a moutain of excuses for the perpetrators while a lack of security is the price we must all pay for our collective “compassion”.

This is what has inspired prisons that look more like health spas with extensive libraries, properly painted grey, of course, so as to appear glum and forboding. Yet for all the nice rehabilitative froo froo and creature comforts, recidivism remains high. But a gentle approach feels so much nicer for the people who really “care”. Sorry…no! It does not feel nicer. It has helped to create huge criminal, gang, and terrorists elemenets!

The Russians have had enough of their property being stolen and their citizens being kidnapped and murdered on the high seas. The captain might have chosen hanging to comply with laws on the books relating to pirates, however, one has to conclude that the message his choice sends is both absolutely clear and incredibly strong: DON’T MESS WITH RUSSINA VESSELS! This action has now become a spectacular warning. The Russinas have created an atmosphere of strong support for avoiding criminal activity against their ships. Anyone fool who fails to heed this warning is certifiably nuts.

This makes no sense. Why would these pirates have been tried in an American court system?

    You know this how, Tina?

Like Jack, you too talk as if the American left would have somehow impeded justice being served against these men, even though this event occurred nowhere near our country.

This post denigrates our constitutional values and essentially proclaims we would be better off if we ignored them and did things the Russian way. You’re making a mockery of the values you claim to adhere to. This is not the first time Tea Partiers have done so, and it won’t be the last.

    “You know this how, Tina?”

    Laws of the jungle, Chris!

“You’re making a mockery of the values you claim to adhere to. This is not the first time Tea Partiers have done so, and it won’t be the last.”

As usual you are reading things into what we have said to satisfy your leftist notion of what and who we are. Ultimately it was a post about the laws of the jungle. When dealing with terrorists/pirates it is wise to keep in mind that that is the rule book they are using.

Admiration for swift justice on the high seas does not translate to support for abandoning our justice system and the rule of law. It is merely a statement that sending these outlaw raiders a clear message is a good thing.

Impressions about the left are, admittedly, general rather than specific and are based on years of experience.

Chris here’s another indication that others out there see America as weak:

In a new video message released on the internet Friday, American-born al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn calls on Muslims living in America to carry out deadly one-man terrorist acts using fully automatic weapons purchased at gun shows, and to target major institutions and public figures. “What are you waiting for?” asks Gadahn in English, and then adds that jihadis shouldn’t worry about getting caught, since so many have been released. “Over these past few years, I’ve seen the release of many, many Mujahideen whom I had never even dreamed would regain their freedom.” – ABC News

Go ahead…go on a shooting rampage…what’s stoppint you…they will just let you go! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  9. FrankO says:

What a waste. In America they would have had a right to a speedy trial, 3 years at least. About 20 pirates, at about $30,000 in court appointed attorney fees per pirate per year. That is about $1.5 million in fees for needy attorneys.
