Serving your country is the highest honor that one can give to their fellow man. The bravery and dedication of the men and women of the armed services is greatly appreciated and honored by our country. Serving your country means giving yourself to a higher cause and something greater and larger than yourself. It means that you are willing to sacrifice your time and daily life to the service of our country to protect and defend the rights of all other Americans in their country.

The men and women who serve our country willingly are the most dedicated individuals in the world. They sacrifice their time, their home, and their comfort all to protect the home they love so much. They are willing to do what most others will not. They run into the fight regardless of the danger and the consequences and they achieve their mission. Their sacrifice never goes unnoticed as made sure by Veterans Day, and it is on this day that we give back to those who have given so much for their country. Our country owes so much to these select few protectors of our freedom, because without them, we have nothing to support us. Our country is proud and honored to have had men and women like that serve our country.

The fundamental question is why do they do it? They do it for us, they do it for their country, and they do it so that the people that they love can sleep safely at night knowing that they are protected. There is no such thing as a selfish soldier, only a selfless one. A soldier gives his or her full self to their duty and to their country. They perform to their best every time and never give any less. That is what is expected of them and they do that each and every item, they always do their best. That is why they are so successful, and that is why they do it. They have a mission to perform and to accomplish and they do not rest until that mission is accomplished. To be an American soldier means that you are a part of something bigger than yourself and that you are willing to commit your whole self to it in order to protect your country.

The men and women of our armed services have my deepest thanks, and the thanks of a country that loves them. Their exemplary service, their sacrifice and devotion to duty and patriotism is paralleled by none other than that of a fellow American soldier. They are the finest example of what it means to be an American. We can look to them as exemplary models of excellence and integrity and they lead the way for all Americans. They loved their country so much, so they gave that much back to their country. They deserve all of our warmest affection, love appreciation, and deepest respect for what they have done for us, and for our great country.
