Unless she is going to call NBC a bunch of racist a$$holes, I have no intention of watching it.

  2. Pie Guevara says:

Not even a Sarah Palin appearance can entice me to watch the vomitous Today Show.

  3. Tina says:

Geez men, why not tell us what you really think. : )

I probably will miss it but I will watch for what pops up in the aftershow!

  4. Toby says:

I just will never understand why people from our side go on MSM as if MSM has found some sort of new respect for us. All this does is help NBC with its pi$$ poor ratings.

  5. Tina says:

I hear ya Toby. But it will only help their ratings for a day…unless they decide, and she agrees, to a permanenet job.

Sarah Palin is one tough cookie. She has negotiated successfully against big corporate heads, powerful union bosses and leadership of the Democrat Party in Alaska. Palin was able to unite these entities in a common goal…she unites rather than divides as the President does.

Also women need to know what their options are rather than blindly following the feminists. Palin is a strong woman who represents the best of what women can achieve both in the family and in business and government.

Sarah’s not afraid to go into a hostile environment and this time she’s armed for bear! Unaware moderates who tune in might just learn a few things and that can’t hurt our cause. Sarah Palin is all about America and American prosperity.

I will be very interested in how this turns out.

I plan on watching because I think she’s going to take this opportunity to show she’s not a stupid bimbo as the MSM succeeded in painting her as during the 2008 election and is still trying to do now.

I’d like to see her as our Sec. of Energy so she could do on a national level what she accomplished for Alaska. After 30 years of Exxon/Mobile refusing to abide by their contract with the state, Palin forced them to work out a deal that benefited both the people of Alaska and oil companies.

The inducement act was passed under former Gov. Sarah Palin as a way to jumpstart a pipeline. TransCanada holds an exclusive license to advance a line under terms of the act and has been working with Exxon Mobil.

I watched about five minutes of the show this morning. It was some dumb segment with Palin, Star Jones, and two other people weighing in on important topics such as Jessica Simpson’s baby weight and a new Facebook app, prompted by questions from Matt Lauer. The usual morning show garbage, but what made this different was that almost every topic circled back and became about Notable Personality Sarah Palin. Sometimes it was her fault, other times she was shamelessly bated by the other talkers. It was awkward.

This was a stupid publicity stunt. There was no way for Notable Personality Sarah Palin to co-host the Today Show without the whole show becoming all about her. It probably brought in good ratings, though; I’m sure both her fans and her detractors tuned in.

Toby: “I just will never understand why people from our side go on MSM as if MSM has found some sort of new respect for us. All this does is help NBC with its pi$$ poor ratings.”

Toby, you’re right; no Republican should ever make an appearance on a major, non-FOX TV network ever again. Preaching only to the choir and saying “Screw you” to everyone else is a brilliant political strategy.

  8. Pie Guevara says:

I always rely on Chris (and Libby, and the Today Show) for “brilliant political strategy.”

  9. Pie Guevara says:

Re: “Preaching only to the choir and saying “Screw you” to everyone else is a brilliant political strategy.”

Thank you Chris. I suspect you have no idea of the astonishing depth (or rather shallowness) of what you just posted and the volumes it speaks, in just a few simple words, about you as a person. Frankly, the your unintentional honesty in this instance is quite refreshing.

If you don’t get it (c’mon man, you can’t be THAT thick), I’ll lend you a hand again (even though it goes against my nature and better judgment to lend a hand to progressive fools and oblivious politically/ideologically driven stooges). Try reading yourself every now and then and think. Take your time. Reflect. If that is at all possible for you. You just might get it without any further assistance from me.

  10. Toby says:

Thank you Chris for making my point for me.

  11. Chris says:

Pie, I don’t get it, because it’s unintelligible and doesn’t address what I said at all. I don’t know how many times I’ve asked you to reply with an actual argument whenever you disagree with me, but you never do. This reflects worse on you then it does on me; it makes it look like you have no counter-argument, only insults and attacks.

My comment was sarcastic, sure, but it still made a clear argument: Preaching only to the choir is, of course, NOT a winning political strategy, for obvious reasons. If a politician or pundit (I’m not sure which one Sarah Palin is anymore, to be honest) limits their appearances only to news sources which already agree with them, how do they expect to get their message out to the people? If you want to get elected, or to get your policy preferences enacted, you have to appeal to the mainstream. That means you need to make some appearances in the mainstream media, even if you consider it “hostile territory.” You need to reach out to people who might not already agree with you. You can’t just limit yourself to an ideological bubble, or you’ll never have any influence outside of it.

Now, if you still think this position is stupid, explain why. I am legitimately interested in hearing what you think is wrong with my argument. You can even use sarcasm to explain to me how wrong I am! Just please, I beg you: make an actual argument. Or just write, “Chris is a stupid a-hole” and save us both some time. That’s essentially what most of your replies to me say, just in more words.
