Finally, Matt Patterson and Newsweek speak out about Obama. This is timely and tough. As many of you know, Newsweek has a reputation for being extremely liberal. The fact that their editor saw fit to print the following article about Obama and the one that appears in the latest Newsweek, makes this a truly amazing event, and a news story in and of itself. At last, the truth about our President and his agenda are starting to trickle through the “protective wall” built around him by the liberal media.

I Too Have Become Disillusioned.

Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages. How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world’s largest economy, direct the world’s most powerful military, execute the world’s most consequential job?
Imagine a future historian examining Obama’s pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League, despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a “community organizer;” a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, so often did he vote “present”); and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions.
He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature legislation as a legislator. And then there is the matter of his troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher who for decades served as Obama’s “spiritual mentor”; a real-life, actual terrorist who served as Obama’s colleague and political sponsor. It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president?
Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal: To be sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspoken hater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day. But because Mr. Obama was black, and therefore entitled in the eyes of liberal Dom to have hung out with protesters against various American injustices, even if they were a bit extreme,he was given a pass. Let that sink in: Obama was given a pass – held to a lower standard – because of the color of his skin.
Podhoretz continues: And in any case, what did such ancient history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he himself had said) “non-threatening,” all of which gave him a fighting chance to become the first black president and thereby to lay the curse of racism to rest?
Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon – affirmative action. Not in the legal sense, of course. But certainly in the motivating sentiment behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel good about themselves.
Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat themselves on the back. Liberals routinely admit minorities to schools for which they are not qualified, yet take no responsibility for the inevitable poor performance and high drop-out rates which follow. Liberals don’t care if these minority students fail; liberals aren’t around to witness the emotional devastation and deflated self-esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative action. Yes, racist. Holding someone to a separate standard merely because of the color of his skin – that’s affirmative action in a nutshell, and if that isn’t racism, then nothing is.
And that is what America did to Obama. True, Obama himself was never troubled by his lack of achievements, but why would he be? As many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois; he was told he was good enough to be president despite no record at all in the Senate. All his life, every step of the way, Obama was told he was good enough for the next step, in spite of ample evidence to the contrary.
What could this breed if not the sort of empty narcissism on display every time Obama speaks? In 2008, many who agreed that he lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama’s oratory skills, intellect, and cool character. Those people – conservatives included – ought now to be deeply embarrassed.
The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of clichés, and that’s when he has his Teleprompters in front of him; when the prompter is absent he can barely think or speak at all. Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth – it’s all warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again for 100 years.(An example is his 2012 campaign speeches which are almost word for word his 2008 speeches)
And what about his character? Obama is constantly blaming anything and everything else for his troubles.Bush did it; it was bad luck; I inherited this mess. Remember, he wanted the job, campaigned for the task. It is embarrassing to see a president so willing to advertise his own powerlessness, so comfortable with his own incompetence.(The other day he actually came out and said no one could have done anything to get our economy and country back on track.) But really, what were we to expect? The man has never been responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly?
In short: our president is a small-minded man, with neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job. When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will the current erosion of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not have gone otherwise with such a man in the Oval Office.

The attribution to Newsweek may have been confused due to the “Hit the Road Barack” cover story in Newsweek, BFD…a assumtion easily made given the nature of the piece.
Matt Patterson did write the article published at The American Thinker. It’s da*n good now just as it was almost two years ago.

Truth is Syria crossed the FAKE RED LINE THAT OBAMA SHOULD HAVE NEVER DRAWN long ago. Syria used chemical weapons on OBAMAS pals, who are in fact the terrorist rebels. OBAMA, like any good coward punk non-leader is doing nothing about it, because he thinks we are ignorant and stupid.
He thinks we don’t know that him covertly sending weapons to terrorist in Syria is what got our Ambassador killed, while like a punk he either watched them die or hid while they were being killed. Who knows, since he won’t tell us where he was. Let’s face it, he’s a punk.
What is my solution? Glad you asked.
Let me ask you, if our enemies are killing each other off, how is it in our best interest to stop them? It’s not. So, I say let them fight until they get tired of their self imposed culture of death and destruction. Commonsense or death will prevail. OBAMA should leave them alone and let them decide their future.
You can’t force decency on hate filled blood thirsty barbarians who only understand the language of death.
America should have NO ROLE in their self annihilation.
America should not get involved in a muslim civil war. Let them fight. They love murder. They celebrate death. Let them have both.

Mr. Patterson you’re a little late, but welcome. Unfortunately you and your Kneepad Media friends are partially if not fully responsible for the mess that Obumble has made in this country.
Had you had due diligence in the 2007 and 2011 election cycles and vetted our current Prez instead of covering for him or championing his color, this country would’ve been better served.
One can only hope that you’ve learned your lesson, however until there’s at least a 50/50 ratio of conservatives to lefties in the media, I don’t see that happening.
Mr.Patterson’s article has been accredited to a publication incorrectly, (as mentioned a link) so lets ignore the message throw out the baby with the bath water. What a progressive way of dealing with an article founded in factual statistics. The core of the article is Affirmative Action and its probable effects. Clearly pointing out Obamas lack of any real achievements that could honestly documented, either scholastically or in public office. How does this become relevant prior to the 2008 election? Obama stirred the socialistic pot he Idolizes, and sold his Ideology to a block of over zealous and Government dependent voters who were willing to scrape Constitutional values and self reliance in support of a entitlement state of mind called “I deserve it, and NOW”. Obama clearly used to his advantage their immature emotions and he noticeably omitted the importance of real work, instead he was selling equality verse effort, yes sir that will make effective change. And by any name that is a form of Affirmative Action. However Mr. Patterson’s paper will not be complete until we understand a bit more. Hopefully he will write another chapter, “How this incumbent POTUS used Lies and Government dishonestly to manufacture his advantageous re-election results”.

A less snarky correction would have been given, were reporting false information based on a chain e-mail a rare occurance on this blog. Sadly, it has become routine, so the snark is well-deserved. See Peggy’s copy-pasted Breitbart rant above, which seems to abide by that timeless Internet rule that says if something is in all-caps, it must be true!
What’s the matter Chris? Has the shiny image of the man you lend support to and the party you favor become so ugly and distasteful that you are now reduced to making idiotic comments instead of expressing your own opinions about Barack Obama?
If you are so sure these are lies then by all means tell us what you think the truth is.

Tina…. Chris doesn’t like give his own original thoughts or what he believes is the truth. We have seen him frequently attacking the opinions of others, but he never allows himself to be vulnerable by expressing his own original opinions. He quotes others that he agrees with, but he always comes up short on stating his own thoughts. I had hope to draw him out more on this by now; it’s for his own good.
Harold nicely stated. There is no question but that Barack Obama reached the highest position of power in the land by being promoted. The position he holds was not earned through effort, accomplishment and merit. It is also true that the man’s campaign was a grandiose, controlled production designed to make people swoon. And they did!
Patterson’s article is as relevant today as it was when written. This POTUS is very secretive. Not only with his academic credentials, but about his early years, his mentors, and his personal beliefs. While stating early on that he would have virtual transparency in the WH, time has proven him to be the least transparent President in decades. MSM has given him a virtual pass on everything until the recent scandals. Now that the media has also been targeted via the AP incident as well as Rosen and others, they are no longer turning the blind eye as in the past.
A long time friend of mine, who was an ardent supporter of Obama and invitee to his inauguration, told me this week that he has misgivings about the direction Obama is leading this country. This 90210 person says he feels used and betrayed. Considering the amount of support he has given to this administration, I cant help but wonder how many others feel the same way.

Breitbart didn’t lie he just referred to what Obama did in April and provided the CNN and The Blaze articles. I just validated the articles by providing the links.

Obama Serves 14-State Governors With Warnings of Arrest: And why is this not front page news?:
Barack Hussein Obama had served 14-State Governors in the United States, National Security Letters (NSLs) warning that the Governor’s actions in attempting to form “State Defense Forces” needs to be halted “immediately” or they will face arrest for the crime of treason. The employment of NSLs was authorized by the Patriot Act introduced by George W. Bush. Contained within the section related to these letters, it is forbidden for anyone receiving a NSL warning to even acknowledge the existence of said communication.
Obama is angered by the several State Governors who have reestablished “State Defense Forces.” These forces are described as: “State Defense Forces (also known as State Guards, State Military Reserves, State Militias) in the United States are military units that operate under the sole authority of a state government; they are not regulated by the National Guard Bureau nor are they part of the Army National Guard of the United States. State Defense Forces are authorized by state and federal law and are under the command of the governor of each state. State Defense Forces are distinct from their state’s National Guard in that they cannot become federal entities.”
Mr. Obama is fearful of these State Defense Forces, in that he does not have control of said forces, and with the U.S. Military stretched to near breaking from multiple deployments and theatre actions in Iraq and Afghanistan, these State military forces would be under the direct command and authority of the Governors in which states have said forces. In essence, the Governors would have “de facto control” of the United States.
