State of the Union

The following are links to the full remarks made by the President and links to remarks made by others.

First the President’s speech from Breitbart-Big Government.

The President began his speech describing citizens that daily contribute by doing their jobs,,,he left out coal miners who don’t have jobs because of his extreme, punishing green agenda policies. It amazes me that he would begin by trying to sound inclusive after five of the most divisive years this nation has seen in a long time in his approach. Other than that there was not much that was new. He plans to award certain people extra goodies and continue to pick winners and losers. He briefly mentioned immigration reform. Took credit for the energy boom for which he had no positive input or policy stake.

The Wall Street Journal featured Ted Cruz addressing “The Imperial Presidency of Barack Obama”. Fellow conservatives will appreciate his thoughtful assessment.

The Hill called the speech a “measured” address in which Obama “flexes executive power” vowing that he “won’t stand still”.

So far there isn’t much that’s been written about the speech…was it that bad…or boring?

Maybe our leftist friends have some positive things to say?

Didn’t watch it. At first I hit pause, but just having him looking at me was freaking me out so I turned it off.

This is off topic, but just too good to not share. It’s the world’s largest miniature train model. Enjoy, it is amazing.

Didn’t watch. Didn’t listen. Wasn’t interested in another Obumble aggrandized photo-op.
Had much more important things to do like take out the trash, fold the laundry, and watch reruns of NCIS on another channel.

  3. Jim says:

The Democrats guest of honor was a decorated wounded war hero. The Republican guest of honor was some guy who looks like the Taliban. I guess he is a TV star or something.

    Just about sums it up.

If you missed Mike Lee’s and Rand Paul speech here they are. Both good and worth hearing.

Seems Groundhog Day and the State of the Union address will occur within days of each other.

This is an ironic and close pairing of similar events.

One involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to an insignificant creature of little intelligence for prognostication.

    The other involves a groundhog.

  6. Dewey says:

lol the blaze? that is his opinion

The disappointment was it was too polite. The fun was Boehner was sloshed to the gills slurring as he spoke!

Not a word about fast track Citizens United, nor the Koch pipeline

The star of the night was NY Rep Michael Grimm who graduated from the FBI Academy and was assigned to investigate Peter Godhi, threaten a NY reporter saying he would break him in half and throw him over the balcony! Seems to be becoming typical of GOP elected! All on camera! bet he gets off with an apology!

    All in All boring

  7. Tina says:

Jim the Republican’s guest of honor was the father of one of the victims of the Benghazi attack…nice going.

Perhaps the person you refer to was Malik Obama?

    Just kidding, in kind.

Other guests included Penn State coach James Franklin, teen entrepreneur Joey Hudy, Sean Hannity, Mayor Ed Lee, Ted Nugent…ohhhhh, you must mean Willie Robinson, the Duck Dynasty guy.

Taliban…really? You know this administrations treatment of the Benghazi victims and their families is pretty sad. You might want to reconsider that line of humor.

  8. Tina says:

Harold I love it…thanks for the hearty, har har har!

  9. Peggy says:

#4 Jim, I guess you missed Sean Woods, who was killed in Benghazi, dad was an invited guest of a Republican. To bad the president didn’t think to invite him and the other parents of the men who died that day.

You’re right it does, “Just about sums it up.”

A GOP Congressman Is Bringing Father of SEAL Killed in Benghazi to Obama’s State of the Union Address:

    OK, that was solid.
