Another Crooked CA Democrat Arrested

by Jack

You’ve heard stories about democrat politicians being arrested or indicted so often I almost hesitated to write about this, but here goes. CA Senator Leland Yee-D from San Francisco, and a candidate for Secretary of State was just arrested by the FBI on corruption charges. This came as FBI agents made a sweep across California investigating wide corruption by elected officials.

No doubt this has a lot of lawmakers in Sacramento more than a little nervous. Well, to PS readers this comes as no surprise, does it? We’ve long held that Sacramento is one of the most corrupt capitols in the US.

Reuters – A spokesman for Yee declined to comment. Yee is scheduled to appear in federal court later on Wednesday.

Yee was elected to the California state senate in 2006, representing a district which includes San Francisco and San Mateo County south of the city. He is the first Chinese American elected to the chamber.

Here’s the update.

They just got another one in North Carolina as well. The Mayor of Charlottle. An elected position.

This guy is accused of “conspiracy to deal firearms without a license and to illegally import firearms” and he is also a big anti-gun guy?

Based on a copy of the text we just received, it appears that Sen. Yee’s SB 47 will create a new category of California Assault Weapons that effectively reaches all semi-automatic centerfire rifles and shotguns which do not have “an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such a manner that the device cannot be removed without disassembly of the firearm action.” Owners of existing “bullet button” and similarly “maglocked” firearms would be required to register with the California Department of Justice by July 1, 2014, including submission of the owner’s thumbprint. This, obviously, has severe implications for California gun owners and dealers, not to mention thousands of annual California visitors including law enforcement officers and those coming into California for firearms training

SB 108 is Sen. Yee’s attempt to mandate safe storage of all firearms, to wit: “No person 18 years of age or older who is the owner, or leaseholder, or renter, or other legal occupant of a residence while outside of that residence shall keep a firearm he or she owns or has legal possession of in that residence [unless that firearm is stored in one of the following ways:]….” (includes text of bills)

You know, this is really bizarre. Leland’s got a long record of good citizenship. Maybe The Male Menopause has done him in. Maybe he has a brain tumor.

I mean, he’s goin’ to jail, but his “association” with “Shrimp Boy” is of recent vintage. Leland’s lawyer should get him a brain scan.

    Nah, he’s just a Demoncrat.

    “Nah, he’s just a Demoncrat.”

    🙂

Now, these are the sort of comments that make hanging around here such a bore. Do I really have to bring up Christie? I mean, come on.

A discussion of how it is that political fellows are so decidedly inclined to go careening off the rails would be much more interesting.

But you all can’t manage anything more than the tossing around of labels. Booring.
