Happy Mothers Day 2014

mothers day

Proverbs 1: 8 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. 9 They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.

Now that… my kids are grown, I understand how much work and love it takes to raise and to keep a family together. The example of your strength, devotion, and patience is now rippling through the generations. Thank you! ~ Forest Houtenschil

  1. Pie Guevara says:

    Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”

  2. Pie Guevara says:

    Look in thy glass and tell the face thou viewest
    Now is the time that face should form another;
    Whose fresh repair if now thou not renewest,
    Thou dost beguile the world, unbless some mother.
    For where is she so fair whose uneared womb
    Disdains the tillage of thy husbandry?
    Or who is he so fond will be the tomb
    Of his self-love, to stop posterity?
    Thou art thy mother’s glass and she in thee
    Calls back the lovely April of her prime;
    So thou through windows of thine age shalt see,
    Despite of wrinkles, this thy golden time.

    But if thou live, remembered not to be,
    Die single and thine image dies with thee.

    As I posted once before, MOM is just WOW spelled upside down.

    Such beautiful sentiments…sure to well the tears of moms who read them and inspire those who look forward to the blessing. Thanks men.

    The world doesn’t want for genius or the well connected but we could sure use a rebirth of outstanding mothers…and fathers…well grounded in their responsibilities.
