A picture is worth 1000 words!

Those who think all Muslims living in America embrace American values had better wake up!

  2. Tina says:

Penny Starr at CNS News reports on a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing and testimony by Brett McGurk, deputy assistant secretary for Iraq and Iran at the U.S. Department of State:

(CNSNews.com) – A State Department official who just returned from a seven-week trip to Iraq, said the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) – or the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) – is no longer just a terrorist group.

“ISIL is no longer simply a terrorist organization,” Brett McGurk, deputy assistant secretary for Iraq and Iran at the U.S. Department of State, said at a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on Wednesday. “It is now a full-blown army seeking to establish a self-governing state through the Tigress and Euphrates Valley in what is now Syria and Iraq.”

ISIS continues to expand its hold on territory in Iraq, including overtaking the city of Mosul on June 10. Since then, the Sunni extremists have targeted Christians who are reportedly being told they have three choices: Convert to Islam, pay a fine or be killed. As a result, most, if not all, Christians have fled the city.

The picture painted is that ISIL poses a much greater threat having acquired more funding, heavy weaponry, and personnel…and the threat to America is even greater.

Mark Thiessen over at American Enterprise Institute shares news that doesn’t do much to inspire confidence:

Breaking on Capitol Hill is the news that Iraqi officials began requesting almost a year ago for the US to carry out drone strikes against ISIS – but the requests were shot down by the White House. That stunning revelation came during a hearing on the situation in Iraq this morning. …

…The New York Times previously reported that in May 2014 Prime Minister Maliki had “secretly asked the Obama administration to consider carrying out airstrikes against extremist staging areas” and that “Iraq’s appeals for a military response have so far been rebuffed by the White House, which has been reluctant to open a new chapter in a conflict that President Obama has insisted was over when the United States withdrew the last of its forces from Iraq in 2011.”

    Swell.

Merriam-Webster Editor Apologizes For Bigotry Association to Conservatism (Sort Of):

“In July, we learned that a Google search of the word “bigotry” turned up a definition that equated the word to “right-wing.” The sample sentence from the Oxford Dictionary set off a small firestorm of anger by conservatives, who don’t consider themselves bigoted and don’t think it should be part of any dictionary definition of the word.

Well, it seems Merriam-Webster also thinks conservatives are bigots.

A review of Webster’s synonyms and antonyms section of the word reveals the following:”

  6. Pie Guevara says:

I have studied Islam since 1997. This is accurate. There are a few reformers but the bottom line is that is that at least 99.9% (my unqualified estimation)of practicing Muslims outside of this country follow the barbaric laws of Shari’ah and at least 90% of Muslims here do to.

In light of Shari’ah, Islam will remain a barbaric practice regardless of the deceiving distinctions of “moderate” and “radical”.

There are very few Muslims actually actively working towards a true reformation of Islam and acceptance of basic human rights and democracy.

  7. Tina says:

Tea Party is not screaming war, Dewey. We are suggesting that strength and follow through from the White House, rather than appeasement and a weak morally equivalent posture, would have meant we avoided much of what is going on.

Israel is not massacring Gaza. Israel is targeting spots it has determined is being used by its enemies for bomb making purposes. Israel warns the people before the deadly bombs fly so they can flee and it sends a duds to hot the target roof tops as a last minute warning. If people are dying its because they are not heeding the warnings or because the enemy is using those people to incite anger toward Israel. Hamas/terrorists love death and don’t want peace.

    Your question is stupid.

Israel has a right to self defense AND a right to exist. As long as Arabs continue to threaten Israel and insist that they should be eliminated from the face of the earth there will be wars and threats of war. Israel is forced to create arms for their own self interests and survival.

  8. Post Scripts says:

I feel bad for taking Dewey to task over his ill informed, absurd, extremist or made up comments. I feel like I’m arguing with a petulant child or someone 3 bricks short of a load.

I’m convinced the DSM-5 holds the key to defining his thinking, but if that’s true then he’s far beyond my lay ability to rehab and educate.

I can’t bring myself to respond to him anymore.

  9. Post Scripts says:

Bob, Obama said, “”I had a uncle who was one of the, who was part of the first American troops to go into Auschwitz and liberate the concentration camps,” Obama said, slowly and methodically. “And the story in my family is that when he came home, he just went into the attic, and he didn’t leave the house for six months. Alright? Now, obviously something had affected him deeply, but at the time, there just weren’t the kinds of facilities to help somebody work through that kind of pain.”

That may be a fact, the RNC noted gleefully — but only if Obama’s uncle served in the Red Army of Joseph Stalin, which liberated Auschwitz Jan. 27, 1945.

  10. Post Scripts says:

OBAMA’S REBUTTAL: Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton this afternoon in a statement, which also clarified that the great-uncle “Served in the 89th Infantry Division that Liberated Ohrdruf, a Subcamp of Buchenwald, the First Camp Liberated by Americans, on April 4, 1945.”

  11. bob says:

…but only if Obama’s uncle served in the Red Army of Joseph Stalin, which liberated Auschwitz

    Sounds about right!

  12. Tina says:

Peggy the conundrum for Websters is that the words “liberal’ and “progress” have been adopted by socialist democrats to describe themselves. Neither is a word that aptly describes them. Nothing about their policies creates progress but instead harken back to old failed soviet and Nazi systems. They are also liberal for instance in a very selective way. For instance, they are not at all liberal when it comes to guns, in fact I would call them restrictive and controlling.

I’ve noticed a number of changes in definitions lately. It’s another of the tools they use…confounding the language to push their ideals and agenda.

    Good find!

  15. Tina says:

    CNS News:

(CNSNews.com) – The plight of Iraq’s Christians, targeted by Muslim militants, prompted a U.S. senator to write to the Secretary of State, voicing alarm about “their potential extinction from their ancient homeland” and saying the situation demands “an urgent response from our government.”

The letter was addressed to Condoleezza Rice, the date was Sept. 11, 2007, and the writer was Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), then running for the Democratic presidential nomination.

While Iraq’s Christian minority had come under attack and faced grave hardships since the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 – a spate of church bombings in Aug. 2004 killed at least 12 people – religious freedom advocates have tracked a particularly severe deterioration over the past five years – on President Obama’s watch.

The time is ripe Mr. President….

  16. Tina says:

Pie I answered your html question on the so-called faith based article…sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner.

  17. Pie Guevara says:

    Re #18 Tina:

Thanks. Got it. Can you or Jack email me about this? I promise I won’t bite or abuse your email address.

  18. Peggy says:

#14 Tina: “I’ve noticed a number of changes in definitions lately. It’s another of the tools they use…confounding the language to push their ideals and agenda.”

Read about a poll yesterday that illustrated individuals under 50 when asked if they favored socialism vs. capitalism chose socialism. But, if asked if they favored socialism vs. free market/free enterprise chose free market/enterprise.

The finding was the word “capitalism” has been taught to be bad, therefore, they chose the opposite. Free market was still good or preferred without their understanding that capitalism and free market/enterprise meant the same thing.

This is just one of many ways the progressives have taken over the minds of our youth and college age adults.

Note, teaching economics is not a required course for any high school student and only required for certain majors in college. Yet, ethnic studies is a GE requirement for all AA/S and BA/S degrees. One could assume learning the importance of economics is of at least equal importance to understanding third world cultures since it absolutely affects our daily lives.

The progressives wrote the play book. We would be wise to pick it up and use it too to regain our country.

I for one will no longer use the word capitalism. Instead I’ll tell my 12 year old grandson about how great the free market/enterprise system is and will help him set up a lemonade stand to learn how bad socialism is.

  19. Chris says:

Peggy: “Yet, ethnic studies is a GE requirement for all AA/S and BA/S degrees.”

This is a lie. Some universities require them, some do not. It’s up to the school.

“I for one will no longer use the word capitalism. Instead I’ll tell my 12 year old grandson about how great the free market/enterprise system”

Good. Capitalism and free markets are not the same thing.

  20. Chris says:

You can’t get mad when people accuse you of being bigoted while also posting sXXt like this and acting as if it’s gold. Attempting to associate the moderate Muslim group behind the cultural center in NYC with this type of Islamist barbarism is BIGOTRY, people. Plain and simple. There’s no reason to do it unless your goal is to smear an entire religion.

    XXXX you all.

  21. Chris says:

More right-wing bigotry: The geniuses at FOX and Friends were apparently shocked to learn that 911 operators have to help everybody, even those dirty illegals who don’t even speak English!

““They stumbled across the border illegally and now they need your help!” Fox News host Steve Doocy complained, pointing to a 911 call in Brooks County, Texas where a man who could only speak Spanish asked for a helicopter rescue because his cousin was “turning purple.”

“A small Texas town forced to answer 911 from stranded illegals in Spanish!” Doocy exclaimed.

“Not only are they understaffed and lacking resources, now they’ve got to deal with illegal immigrants who have no business being here,” co-host Brian Kilmeade opined.

Brooks County Chief Deputy Urbino “Benny” Martinez pointed out to Kilmeade that his department had a duty to respond to all 911 calls.

“So, those calls you have to respond to, even though for the most part when you get there, you realize, they’re not an American citizen?” the Fox News host pressed.”

    http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/07/23/fox-hosts-outraged-that-texas-911-operators-are-forced-to-help-dying-non-english-speakers/#.U9AU5sZdLls.facebook

Of course, not all conservatives are bigots. Bigotry is not inherent to conservatism. But there is certainly a lot of overlap between the two these days. It is up to moderate conservatives to speak out against the radicals who have hijacked their party. Unfortunately I doubt anyone here has the courage to do so.

  22. Pie Guevara says:

Re #22 Chris: Always such a class act! Is there any wonder why I have so often parodied and satirized this swell fellow by acting like him in a more direct and honest way?

Same to you, pal. Islam is Islam, and you are owned by Islam.

Yes there are revisionists, but they are few and far between. Your invention of “moderate” Islam is a fraud and a joke. Shari’ah abides.

  23. Pie Guevara says:

Re #22 Chris : Last comment. The English major’s most revealing and best effort to date. You gotta love it. Concise and to the point, which is so out of character for this turgid and twisted monstrosity.

  25. Tina says:

    My apologies to our readers.

Chris seems to have forgotten his manners. I failed to notice the bad language at the end of his last comment. I will correct that error asap.

All I can say about Chris’s latest rant is that he doesn’t seem capable of making distinctions. He also seems determined that everyone see things as he does. When they don’t they are immediately categorized as bigots, racists, homophobes, liars, and the latest, lacking in “courage”.

I’ve noticed most liberals get particularly mean when their party is in power and doing a really lousy job. Talk about lack of courage, I have yet to hear anything substantive from leftists about the terrible condition we are in economically or the chaos and danger that is now much greater as a result of the President’s policies. They have nothing to say about the chaos created for locals on our borders who have to deal with the President’s latest political game to destroy America…or the fact that his agenda has resulted in death for some kids.

Liberals even have the nerve to act like everything is peachy.

Is it fair to say they are lying not only about others but also to themselves?

  26. Peggy says:

Tina, you don’t need to apologize. We have learned to expect progressives to strike out in an irrational child-like manner when things don’t go their way. The most congresswoman saying we’re not entitled to know what our government is doing is just another example of their crazy thought process of their rights to power and our lack of rights as the governed.

Chris knew better then to write what he did, but did it any way. If we apply that same thought process to our Constitution and our laws we understand Obama and Reid’s actions that forced ObamaCare on the country and created the illegal immigration crises on our southern border.

They want what they want and will do and say what it takes to get it. Lying and swearing is acceptable to them if they are the ones saying it, but if someone who opposes them says something similar they’re viciously attacked.

Seeing the large number of people who showed up in Boston on Saturday hopefully we are witnessing the beginning of enough voters whose eyes have been opened to what Obama’s “transformation” really meant.

  27. Pie Guevara says:

Re #28 Tina : No apologies necessary. Chris says the exactly the same in #22 with every post he makes. So does Libby and Dewey. At least this time he was refreshingly honest. He was also refreshingly honest when he said that if Obama crossed his sensibilities, he would burn him. The Chris mentality is the progressive mentality.

I understand the civil courtesy of not using foul language to express oneself. Standing up for that is OK in my book.

Yes, petty meanness and lack of courage pretty much nails it. Pervasive unemployment, economic turmoil, and the loss of hope for America’s sons and daughters to even find a job is the Obama legacy and the legacy of progressives.

  28. Peggy says:

Another example of just how far progressives will go to those who oppose them.

    http://www.ijreview.com/2014/07/161786-police-chief-tea-party-leader-childish-illegal/

  29. Chris says:

Tina: “All I can say about Chris’s latest rant is that he doesn’t seem capable of making distinctions.”

Ridiculous. Jack is the one who just posted a meme which erases the distinctions between the group behind the NYC Islamic cultural center, and Muslims who cut off baby girls’ clitoruses and treat them like shit for the rest of their lives. You, as well as every other conservative commenter on this blog, thought this was brilliant.

And now you’re going to accuse ME of failing to make distinctions?

    You have nothing but projection.

  30. Pie Guevara says:

Re #32 Chris: Re #22 Chris.

  31. Tina says:

Chris at #21 posts, linking to “Center for a Stateless Society,” and thinks he has found the truth. A stateless society is a society at the effect of the strong/wealthy…some form of socialism is inevitable under such a system…can’t let the teeming masses rot under their feet! (Besides these are the people who always say they care about others.)

Chris also thinks he has discovered the truth about the right’s agenda. What he has found is a caricature that the left constructed and propped up as an enemy to war against for power. It is a deception but one filled with lots of drama, just the way Chris likes it.

Corporatism is rife within the current leftist administration, particularly in the green energy sector. It isn’t a political animal but a symptom of a weak moral condition and the corruption that comes with too much power.

Corporatism exists when any politician becomes greedy and ambitious putting his wallet and agenda ahead of the best interests of the people. A smaller federal government with less power would end much of it.

Conservative Republicans do not call for no regulations…they call for regulations that can be enforced and can be understood. They support sensible, reasonable regulations that support our businesses rather than bog them down with costly compliance departments and litigation caused by complexities.

Liberals like having regulations complex; they use them to manipulate and control. This is not supportive of the business sector nor of the middle class worker. Litigation keeps leftist attorneys busy and wealthy but does not produce products, a thriving economy, or good jobs.

Conservative Republicans know the poor will always be with us and expect some form of safety net will always be necessary. We seek policies that will improve the human condition. We seek methods to improve schools in poor neighborhoods and encourage training and higher education after high school. we desire laws that support and encourage people to rise above the welfare condition by gaining the skills needed to get a good job. We celebrate independence and believe our government should support every individual to reach his greatest potential so that he can be truly free and depend on himself.

Read this nonsense from Chris’s link:

To the extent that the right-wingers at Fox and CNBC or on the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal advocate some purer form of “free markets” in contrast to the existing economy, what they mean is essentially the present model of corporate capitalism without the regulatory or welfare state.

But the form taken by the existing capitalist system that we live under owes precious little to free markets. From its beginnings in the late Middle Ages, it has been shaped by massive and ceaseless intervention and enforcement of privilege — much of it breathtakingly brutal — by the state. To adapt a phrase from Orwell, the past has been a boot stamping on a human face.

The radical progressive left imagines itself, and all of you, a victim. Most in leadership are people who come from wealth and privilege in America. They are spoiled, not oppressed. They not only have no appreciation for the freedom that is available to all Americans (And free education through grade twelve) but they have no appreciation for the fact that most Americans earned whatever wealth they have.

In the past seventy or so years the progressive left has pushed for more government programs to help the “have nots” and that has led to bigger and stronger government, a large welfare state, and many people who have learned to live in poverty believing they can do no better. The progressive left does not set people free or give them opportunity…it makes them dependent and needy and then pits them against the wealthy. It creates the very condition it claims to work against so it can maintain a cause for revolution.

The open borders leftists imagine themselves as the new revolutionaries who will finally bring justice to the people. They are just the next iteration of socialists who brought us the rise of despotic Nazi’s, communists…and green energy zealots!

If Chris really wanted to know what the conservative Republicans think and want he could simply ask us and, at least as a beginning leap of faith, trust that we are being truthful.

Chris would apparently prefer to remain an angry victim…the drama more satisfying than seeing an economy that works for all classes and a government that supports the people rather than picking winners and losers fro among the various classes of people.

Chris has no appreciation for the nation he lives in, its Constitution, the freedom and rights he has, or the opportunity that every person is afforded if he will just apply himself.

Chris was not educated. He is a victim of progressive indoctrination and represents a threat to our freedoms. As are most progressives he is now too arrogant to learn and will have to learn the hard way, if at all.

It’s unfortunate that I reduce to the third person. Chris’s hostile, know-it-all attitude does not invite reasonable exchange.

  32. Chris says:

The accusations of “meanness” are hilarious. You all just baselessly accused a group of moderate Muslims who were planning to build a multi-faith community center of stoning women and cutting people’s heads off. You had no reason to make that accusation at all. I respond with a flippant curse and I’m so “mean.”

    Wah.

  33. Tina says:

There’s one more thing Chris doesn’t understand. He thinks we are living in peaceful times when there is no reason to be suspicious of the motivations of others. He’s naive and wrong, of course. Rauf’s associations and unwillingness to speak plainly make him suspect. His forked tongue makes him and the mosque he wanted to place at the 911 site worthy of question and suspicion. It isn’t bigotry that motivates but an extension of the war conditions radical Islam has forced us to confront.

When will Chris address our enemy in strong definitive terms without the need to soften his words and make nice?

Why is he never outraged at anyone except his fellow Americans?

Why does he not see that we can and do make distinctions when they are clear.

When they are not clear it is not only appropriate to question and have suspicions it is healthy!

Pretending Islam is peaceful in order to not hurt anyone’s feelings (PC) is naive and dangerous.

  34. Chris says:

I don’t agree with much of CS4S’s positions; I’m not a free market anarchist. But I do think they make a good point about the distinction between free markets and capitalism. Even the name “capitalism” centers on the owners of capital, thus it makes sense to distinguish between a system that privileges the owners of capital over workers with a hypothetical “true” free market in which power relations would (according to some) be more equal.

They are also correct to point out that the “vulgar libertarians” who occupy the right are overly preoccupied with opposing any government aid to the poor, whilst saying virtually nothing about government aid to the wealthy and corporations (unless, of course, it’s an evil “green” corporation). CS4S is against all welfare, but at least they have the basic common sense and compassion to understand that eliminating welfare needs to start at the highest level, not the lowest. Continuing to rail against social welfare while only giving lip service to corporate welfare is hypocritical, and puts the lie to your small government pretensions.

I know exactly what you stand for, Tina. You have made it very clear. As I explained last week, the problem is NOT that your message is unclear or that Republicans have a hard time getting it across. It’s that your message sucks.

  35. Chris says:

Tina: “There’s one more thing Chris doesn’t understand. He thinks we are living in peaceful times when there is no reason to be suspicious of the motivations of others.”

Why the HELL do you think it’s OK to blatantly lie about people this way, Tina? Why do you think it is convincing or logical to create these strawman arguments instead of responding to what people actually say?

Of course, I know the answer: it’s because your loyal commenters here will never, ever call you out on it. To them, this type of argumentation IS convincing.

“Rauf’s associations and unwillingness to speak plainly make him suspect. His forked tongue makes him and the mosque he wanted to place at the 911 site worthy of question and suspicion. It isn’t bigotry but an extension of the war conditions they ahve forced us to.”

…And this makes it OK to baselessly accuse Rauf of teaching the value of stoning women, clitoredectomies, beheadings, honor killings, and child brides? Even though he has spoken out clearly against most if not all of those things?

    Wow.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqQD4dzVkwk

“When will Chris address our enemy in strong definitive terms without the need to soften his words?”

Do you consider Imam Rauf “our enemy?”

“Why is he never outraged at anyone except his fellow Americans?”

Well, generally speaking, I find that getting outraged at terrorists to be less effective.

  36. Pie Guevara says:

Mean, a dictionary definition: small-minded or ignoble

    Fits Chris quite well.

The NYC Islamic Center has done nothing — absolutely nothing — except to pose as an interfaith community center that never was, or even a Muslim community center, which it also is not and never will be. It is a Islamic prayer center teaching, of course, Islam!

And what does Islam teach? Well, anyone who bothers to inform themselves on that subject knows quite well what they teach.

    People draw conclusions from pictures.

    You have drawn this conclusion.

It doesn’t mean others have drawn the same conclusions.

You project your conclusion on to others and then attack them.

No oe that I know of on this blog has EVER accused Rauf of those things specifically.

We have questioned his motives and loyalties and his judgement in attempting to place a Mosque/community center in such close approximation to the 911 attack by Muslim terrorists, especially when Muslims have a long history of doing that as a sign of their dominance after overcoming and oppressing others.

It’s not the same thing. You would do well to pay more attention to your own straw men and method of argumentation.

“Do you consider Imam Rauf “our enemy?”

It was a general question not specific to Rauf…and you avoided, rather than answering the question. I frankly do not expect an answer.

“Even the name “capitalism” centers on the owners of capital, thus it makes sense to distinguish between a system that privileges the owners of capital over workers.”

    And what of their responsibilities?

Is it impossible for you to think in terms other than class? Is everything a contentious battle? Do you hinestly think people work their butts off and take risks to oppress the worker? what communist country did you grow up in…oh, I temporarily forgot, you have been educated in our schools.

“at least they have the basic common sense and compassion to understand that eliminating welfare needs to start at the highest level, not the lowest.”

Sure because all of those welfare people can be counted on to create tons of jobs for all the newly liberated poor whereas the company people will just keep the money for themselves. All of this is BS with no basis in reality or what would become workable legislation.

“Continuing to rail against social welfare while only giving lip service to corporate welfare is hypocritical, and puts the lie to your small government pretensions.”

Continuing to lie about what I have said or proposed makes you look like a big fat meanie whose only goal is to smear other people. What are you? Nine?

” It’s that your message sucks.”

Oh really? So you, the all knowing Chris, think this sucks:

Conservative Republicans do not call for no regulations…they call for regulations that can be enforced and can be understood. They support sensible, reasonable regulations that support our businesses rather than bog them down with costly compliance departments and litigation caused by complexities.

Liberals like having regulations complex; they use them to manipulate and control. This is not supportive of the business sector nor of the middle class worker. Litigation keeps leftist attorneys busy and wealthy but does not produce products, a thriving economy, or good jobs.

We desire laws that support and encourage people to rise above the welfare condition by gaining the skills needed to get a good job We celebrate independence and believe our government should support every individual to reach his greatest potential so that he can be truly free and depend on himself.

If that sucks, Chris, you live in the wrong country.

Our nation was founded by strong, independent and moral people…that is the legacy embraced by conservative republicans and it is the legacy we wish to see all Americans embrace to be passed on to our progeny.

You don’t know me, Chris, you know that straw man in your head, the one your leftist instructors embedded there so you would become an angry soldier for the radical liberal/progressive cause.

  39. Tina says:

Pie I’d prefer it if Johnny Cash had a warning label…I’m told we do have kids that read this blog.

Oh, you are so full of shit. The intention of this meme is obviously to associate the Ground Zero Mosque with terror and brutality. It clearly implies that these are the teachings of this particular mosque.

That is bigotry, and nothing you say after the fact will change that.

Chris, I think you have terminal naivety. Do you so any moral equivalency from the Christians, Buddhists, or Seiks? 60 acts of terror in America and many began with the teachings in their local mosque. But, that’s nothing compared to world wide atrocities, they number in tens of thousands. You might as well be defending the Nazi regime in 1939. Wise up Chris, your naivety will only empower the enemies of democracy and freedom of religion.

  42. Chris says:

Jack, I’ve never denied that Islamic terrorism is a serious issue, nor do I equate the incredible amount of terrorism and dictatorship within Islam to the threat of other religious terrorists, which is much more uncommon.

That said, there is no evidence that the specific mosque singled out in this meme (and let’s not have anyone pretend that this isn’t talking about the one near Ground Zero, because no one is that stupid) is teaching any of the precepts mentioned here. In fact, that would be extraordinarily unlikely given that Imam Rauf and his wife have spoken out against many of these barbaric teachings and have been used as ambassadors and worked with the FBI under both the Obama and Bush administrations. Heck, Rauf’s wife says she believes people of all religions are going to get into Heaven. If that’s not moderate, I don’t know what is.

So do you see how attempting to associate this specific mosque with such barbaric teachings is dishonest, and morally wrong? Do you see why making such associations actually blurs the distinctions between radical Muslims and moderates? Do you see why posting such things makes it very, very hard for people who don’t already agree with you to take you seriously when you claim to have no bigoted attitudes or assumptions toward Muslims?

  43. Tina says:

Chris: “…Do you see why making such associations actually blurs the distinctions…”

I don’t live in New York City but I do try to imagine what it was like for the people who were there on 911 and who saw those buildings filled with people come crashing down…people leaping from the burning buildings…the months and months of gruesome, dangerous, deadly clean-up, and the anguish that doesn’t end because the reminders are there day after day.

I don’t live in new York but the day caused me to do some research and pay closer attention to the enemies we have been dealing with for many decades who call themselves Muslims and do what they do in the name of their religion. I learned they call this a religion of peace but everywhere I look I see barbarous acts in the name of Islam…and I read that zealots believe peace is only possible when everyone is under the rule of Islam. I read that some of these believe they have permission to lie in service to the cause. I read that Islamic warriors conquered other nations in the name of Allah and in victory demolished local churches and synagogues and erected mosques on the same spot. I read that some terrorists prefer political jihad to violent jihad but the goal is the same…worldwide permanent absolute rule by Muslims…a caliphate.

These and many other things cause me to agree with Pamela Geller at Breitbart about this museum:

…a museum at Ground Zero dedicated to the glories of Islam on the site of that catastrophic Islamic attack – that, too, is obscene. All 19 Islamic terrorists uniformly declared that their jihad was in the cause of Islam. Will el-Gamal showcase the last letters of the 19 jihadists, mentioning Allah over 90 times?

The article goes on to question from where the money will come to build this museum and informs that the developer, Sharif el-Gamal, actually had asked “for five million dollars in federal grants from the federal 9/11 fund – monies set aside for the redevelopment of lower Manhattan after the attacks of September 11th jihad attacks.”

We also learned that the original idea was being funded by organizations that had funded terrorism.

    Pamela Gellar continues:

    Robert Spencer said:

This structure may (or may not) be so different from the previous 15-story plan that it will be less likely to be taken in the Islamic world as a triumphal mosque a la the Dome of the Rock, the Hagia Sophia and the Umayyad Mosque of Damascus, etc., but it is still a spectacularly inappropriate idea for that location. If Sharif wants to improve the image of Islam, a mosque celebrating its purported glories at Ground Zero will not do the trick; only a concerted effort to reform Islam and counter the jihadist narrative within Muslim communities will accomplish that.

The exact words of the jihad hijackers:

“Many thanks to God, for his kind gesture, and choosing us to perform the act of Jihad for his cause and to defend Islam and Muslims. Therefore, killing you and fighting you, destroying you and terrorizing you, responding back to your attacks, are all considered to be great legitimate duty in our religion….We ask to be near to God, we fight you and destroy you and terrorize you. The Jihad in god’s [sic] cause is a great duty in our religion.” — The “9/11 Shura Council” (that’s what they called themselves; they are the masterminds of the 9/11 plot: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Ramzi bin As-Shibh, Walid bin ‘Attash, Mustafa Ahmed AI-Hawsawi, and ‘Ali ‘abd Al-’Aziz ‘Ali). (Here)

“The first thing that we are calling you to is Islam.” — Osama bin Laden’s letter to the American people, November 24, 2002 (here).

“When the confrontation begins, strike like champions who do not want to go back to this world. Shout, ‘Allahu Akbar,’ because this strikes fear in the hearts of the non-believers. God said: ‘Strike above the neck, and strike at all of their extremities.’ Know that the gardens of paradise are waiting for you in all their beauty, and the women of paradise are waiting, calling out, ‘Come hither, friend of God.’ They have dressed in their most beautiful clothing.” — Mohammed Atta. The “Strike above the neck” quote is from the Qur’an, 47:4. (Here)

It is time for a museum that educates Americans and all freedom-loving peoples about the gravest threat the free world faces. Perhaps we ought to start a kickstarter or crowdfunder campaign to build a museum across the street that tells the truth about Islamic jihad and its hundreds of millions of victims over the past 1,400 years until today. From Khybar to Kandahar… truth has been the casualty of this holy war.

Its reasonable to wonder if a museum about Islam at the site of 911 would include information related to the images and practices in the picture?

Unwillingness to talk about the things that are barbaric and covertly deceptive in the religion as practiced by violent OR political terrorists does not help the moderate Muslim cause. automatically labeling people who express opinions and concerns as bigoted is an attempt to pretend the truth away. It delays real reforms and in the last six years has undermined efforts to defeat the violent and the extreme in this religion.

The Germans endured decades of embarrassing, shameful truth and to their credit did not attempt to whitewash or hide from the ugliness and evil that was evident for all to see. There is nothing dishonest in that poster. There is something rude and irreverent in attempting to erect a museum to (The glories of?) Islam at this site.

It takes very little for anyone on the left to cry bigot; they are as dishonest as the day is long.

  44. Pie Guevara says:

The F*** You All Boy speaks again! “So do you see how attempting to associate this specific mosque with such barbaric teachings is dishonest, and morally wrong? ”

    Oh, really?

Muslims are allowed to lie during battle and war.

This is not a war? Islam is not at war with the non-Islam world?

The NYT “community center”, soon to be an Islamic Museum, which has never held a single multi-faith” event is not at war?

Get a clue, F*** You All Boy.

  45. Post Scripts says:

Chris, to be perfectly honest when I put the picture up I didn’t connect it to a particular person or mosque. I was looking at it in a much grander scale. Now I see the mosque symbol and the towers, but at the time I didn’t give that part much thought compared to the beheading and hanging. Those things had my attention and they were outrageous and so common in radical Islam.

What is depicted is the brutish, backwards nature of a large number of members within the Islamic religion. Some live here…unfortunately.

This is a not a warm, fuzzy religion. They are out for world domination. I hate it when I see American ladies join a mosque just so they can wear the bee keeper uniform and scare people. I ran into one of them at Safeway the other day, she’s white, young and she’s wearing a hajib. But, she’s about as religious as my dog. For her it’s all about being controversial and getting attention.

  46. Tina says:

Jack to be perfectly honest I didn’t make a connection to the NY 911 mosque either until Chris brought it up.

I did connect it to radical barbaric terrorists and the Imams that teach and preach hate and death and as someone has said love death more than life.

I also notice that appeasers can’t really bring themselves to condemn terrorists. The left culture in which everyone pretends to be free of anger, hate, and judgement cannot afford to notice black hat wearing people. It doesn’t fit an “inclusive” act.

Put a Tea Party member or conservative in front of them and the pretense explodes. Incredible!

  47. Pie Guevara says:

Re #48: Again you allow F*** You All Boy to hijack the thread. Do you get it yet?

  48. Chris says:

Tina: “I read that some of these believe they have permission to lie in service to the cause.”

Huh. Maybe you guys have more in common then you think.

“These and many other things cause me to agree with Pamela Geller”

Well, there’s your problem. You get your information from a deranged lunatic who believes that Obama is the lovechild of Malcolm X, openly supports genocidal war criminals, and inspire mass shooters…and then you call such people “reasonable.”

    http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-files/profiles/pamela-geller

“automatically labeling people who express opinions and concerns as bigoted is an attempt to pretend the truth away.”

But automatically labeling Muslims terrorists and violent misogynists is a-OK with you. Got it.

    Hypocrite.

  49. Chris says:

Tina: “I also notice that appeasers can’t really bring themselves to condemn terrorists. The left culture in which everyone pretends to be free of anger, hate, and judgement cannot afford to notice black hat wearing people. It doesn’t fit an “inclusive” act.”

Yes, this is why Osama bin Laden is alive and well and attending mandatory sensitivity training. Same for all the other terrorists that the Obama administration claims to have droned. We just can’t bear to condemn them!

    You are so freaking crazy.

  50. Chris says:

So, Jack, if you didn’t connect the meme to the center in NYC, what did you think was meant by “The Mega Mosque Cultural Center?” Did you even read this thing before you posted it?

  51. Pie Guevara says:

One picture (actually several) speaks thousands of words more than the onslaught of pseudo-intellectual drivel from Chris, The F*** You All poster boy.

  52. Pie Guevara says:

Moderate Muslim, Mustafa Carroll, the executive director of the Dallas-Fort Worth CAIR branch, “If we are practicing Muslims, we are above the law of the land.”

Unlike F*** You All Boy, at least this man is honest.

    • Post Scripts says:

Pie, that actually is honest for him to admit it! I can appreciate that, but I would like to know what laws of ours he’s above….is it murder as in honor killings or just infidels?

  53. Tina says:

Chris: “We just can’t bear to condemn them!”

War is not speech, at least not in the way we are talking about it, and the President had to be dragged kicking and screaming to give the go ahead on bin Laden. Apples to bananas won’t do as comparisons.

You cannot bring yourselves to discuss the issue. You prefer to attack and slime anyone who does.

  54. Pie Guevara says:

Re #57 Tina : “War is not speech”

In case you had not noticed, F*** You All Boy (aka “Chris”)is at war. A war of words. Insane, yes, but true.

  55. Chris says:

Tina: “and the President had to be dragged kicking and screaming to give the go ahead on bin Laden.”

Does the fact that there is no evidence whatsoever for this claim make you, at the very least, feel bad for saying it so often?

  56. Chris says:

Tina: “War is not speech, at least not in the way we are talking about it,”

Ah, so it doesn’t matter what we actually *do* to fight terrorists. You just want someone who talks tough.

    Got it.

  57. Tina says:

Jack: “what laws of ours he’s above”

If you take the man at his word, all of them. Our laws are meaningless to him; he is above them because sharia is everything. He will abide by them if it suits the greater cause. Once they have taken power our laws will mean nothing accept to the degree that they align with sharia. Murder is not acceptable but okay if it is an honor killing, for instance.

  58. Tina says:

Pie at #58…believe me, I noticed.

His examples still don’t measure up.

Does anyone recall any liberal who is willing to name our enemies in clear unequivocal terms? They dance all around it when they must discuss it (overseas contingency operations conducted against violent criminals), but never take a strong, clear, convicted stand.

Their (much bigger) enemy is the Republican Party, especially the conservatives. It’s astounding but I’m afraid quite true.

They are not shocked into greater awareness by honor killings, be-headings (I really thought Daniel Pearl would do it, but no) , people jumping out of burning buildings, military people turning on their fellow soldiers, the fact that gays are not tolerated in ANY way and women are dirt.

None of these are as bad as a person who happens to disagree on a couple of sensitive issues…and would defend to the death their right to a different view.

Insistence on compliance is not tolerance, but comply we must or be hated and hounded forever!

  59. Tina says:

Chris: “Does the fact that there is no evidence whatsoever for this claim make you, at the very least, feel bad for saying it so often?”

Witnesses are generally thought of as capable of giving “evidence”.

As it happens, there is such a witness (source) who spoke with a journalist and revealed just that.

Now you can choose to not believe the journalist and his source but you cannot really say there “is no evidence whatsoever”.

Richard Minitera, a former ‘Wall Street Journal’, ‘Washington Times’ and ‘Sunday Times’ of London journalist, cites an unnamed source within Joint Special Operations Command as revealing that three ‘kill’ missions were cancelled by Obama in January, February and March 2011 in his book, “Leading from Behind: The Reluctant President and the Advisors Who Decide for Him.”

“so it doesn’t matter what we actually *do* to fight terrorists”

We were not discussing what the President has done. (Fortunate, since his record is pretty bad overall.) We were talking about you and Libby and liberals in general being unwilling to discuss our enemies, to name them, to condemn them for what they do and believe, to acknowledge their end goal.

Tossing in bin Laden is a distraction, Chris. Misdirection that you hope, along with another slam for me, will take our attention away from the subject: Liberals will not name and condemn the enemy in specific terms.

  60. Chris says:

Tina, are you asking me to take a firm, unequivocal stance that Islamic terrorists are bad? Is this something you feel I’ve been unclear on?

  61. Chris says:

Richard Miniter’s claims don’t add up:

“The “blockbuster” allegation from Richard Miniter’s new book, Leading From Behind, is that President Obama dithered and vacillated when it came to authorizing the mission that led to the May 2011 death of Osama bin Laden. As Miniter puts it on page 117, rather than acting decisively “it took the president almost two years to make a decision to act” after intelligence agencies identified “bin Laden’s hideout in the first few months of the Obama administration.” There is, however, a fatal flaw in Miniter’s allegation: he’s off by a full year. To characterize Obama as having delayed action, Miniter describes intelligence activities that happened in 2010 as having occurred in 2009, leading him to repeatedly contradict his own timeline of events.

Media Matters previously pointed out the significant problems with Miniter’s charge that Obama canceled three times the operation to kill Bin Laden — specifically that on the dates Obama was alleged to have canceled the “mission,” there wasn’t yet a “mission” to cancel…

…Miniter even contradicts himself at various points, writing about intelligence officials acting on intelligence that, by his own inaccurate account, didn’t exist yet. On Page 132 he writes that then-CIA chief Leon Panetta “weighed sending in a ground team to watch the Abbottabad compound from a nearby safehouse and, in April 2009, intense surveillance began,” even though by his own retelling the compound wasn’t identified until four months later. He writes on page 134 that after the ground team obtained a voice recording of Bin Laden at the compound, “Panetta again met with Obama in June 2009. The pressure on Obama to act was becoming harder to ignore.” Once again, Miniter is describing a meeting about intelligence gathered at a site that, by his own words, the intelligence community didn’t yet know about.

Following the proper chronology, in June 2009 Obama, according to the New Yorker, “drafted a memo instructing Panetta to create a ‘detailed operation plan’ for finding the Al Qaeda leader and to ‘ensure that we have expended every effort.'” The CIA ground team started operations at the Abbotabad safe house after it was discovered in August 2010, per the Washington Post…”

  62. Tina says:

    NO!

    Chris’s parting shot.

Reading through this thread I noticed another thing he said in error: “You, as well as every other conservative commenter on this blog, thought this was brilliant.”

I didn’t run across the word even once until you used it. (I also didn’t address myself to the practice of mutilation at all so that too is a deceitful, nasty, overly dramatic charge)

You don’t communicate, Chris. It’s impossible to engage with others at all until we actually get what another is saying. More often than not you project what you believe we are saying and then argue with that projection…with large dollops of attitude added as a special effect!

And by the way, Media Matters is to me what Pamela Geller is to you. I’m not impressed any more than you are. Now stomp that little foot and call me a few more names…that will surely convince everyone that my sources are all liars and yours, well, simply brilliant!

  63. Chris says:

Tina, it is a fact that Jack posted a meme falsely accusing the “Mega Mosque Cultural Center” (not the official name of the center that was intended to be built near Ground Zero, but we all know what it refers to) teaching things like honor killing, child marriage, and genital mutilation. It is a fact that there is not one shred of evidence to verify this accusation. And it is a fact that many conservative commenters here voiced agreement with this meme, and not one of you expressed any disagreement.

Apparently the operators and commenters on this blog don’t agree with the very simple premise that it is wrong to accuse people of horrible things without any evidence. You also don’t appear to agree that it is wrong to make assumptions about people based purely on their religion. That is a form of bigotry, by its very definition.

You need to spend less time getting defensive when you are called out on immoral behavior and more time doing some honest soul-searching. (And yes, I saw Jack’s nasty, sarcastic and passive aggressive “Soul Searching” article before he wisely deleted it–if that’s what counts as self-reflection at this site, then you really are incapable of it.)
