Pie Guevara’s Friday Follies: Jug Bands

JugsLike jug band music?

I do. Here are two of the classic bands from the late 20’s – early 30’s:

Whistler & His Jug Band, “Foldin’ Bed”

The Memphis Jug Band, “On The Road Again”

Revival jug band music abounds.

Here is Jim Kweskin on Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion” playing, “Blues In A Bottle”

Two hot and fun revivalist jug bands:

The Perch Creek Family

The Ever-Lovin’ Jug Band

Pink Floyd’s version of jug band music appears on the album “A Saucerful Of Secrets”:

Here is a rare Pink Floyd video of Syd Barret performing, “Jugband Blues”
