Why They Riot – It’s Worse Than We Ever Thought

by Jack

I spent about an hour watching several reporters, black and white, on different networks, trying to interview black people in the streets of Baltimore.   I’ve come to the conclusion that stupidity more than any other reason is why they riot.

The numerous black people I saw on TV had little or no grasp of the facts, they were basically emotionally driven, fast talking, and pretty much detached from reality.  Too many said they don’t care about evidence because they don’t trust the system.  They say they care about a black guy being killed in Baltimore and often they don’t know much more.  Too many said they don’t care if their violent actions and stealing are counter-productive and my impression was, so long as they can swipe a new pair of pants or a steal a bottle of liquor.

According to those I could understand and who were able string together a complete sentence without screaming obscenities that caused 70% of what they were saying to be bleeped out, they’re rioting and/or protesting because:

  • They are being killed by cops, because they won’t work for free anymore. (Seriously, I heard that said)
  • Because African-American men and African-American women are being institutionalized.
  • Because we’re anarchists. (Honest answer) Said to Geraldo Herrera
  • This is about genocide of black people (he was talking about white cops killing blacks)
  • Because you don’t provide enough jobs.  (It’s hard to get a job when you can’t read, write, or speak English.  When you have a racist attitude and a huge sense of entitlement. )
  • We hate white people.  (Another honest answer)
  • (Caught on TV looting) Most Absurd Reason:  Because this store was out of Blue Bell Ice Cream, they be out of strawberries for a week… (huh? That’s why you are looting?)

Are cops really getting out of control?  In 1971 there were 92 people shot dead by New York police, in 2014 there were 8.

St. Louis Study:  “But most interesting, perhaps, was the race of the officers who fired their weapons. About two-thirds were white, and one-third black — effectively identical to the racial composition of the St. Louis Police Department as a whole. In this study, at least, firing at a black suspect was an equal-opportunity decision.

Whether officers, veterans or civilians, the subjects consistently hesitated longer before firing at black suspects and were much more likely to mistakenly shoot an unarmed white suspect, the researchers found. And when they failed to fire at an armed suspect — a potentially fatal mistake — the suspect was about five times more likely to be black than white. The study’s 36 police officers were the lone exception in failing to fire: The suspect’s race wasn’t a factor in their decision not to shoot. “The findings were very unexpected given the previous experimental research,” said Lois James, an assistant professor who conducted the research.

“The notion that cops want to shoot anybody is a lot of baloney,” said Dr. Klinger, who has interviewed some 300 officers involved in shootings. “But white officers are much more reticent to shoot a black man than a white man because, all things being equal, they know the social context in which they’re operating.”  New York Times – Sunday Review 2014

And to close this, a gem from Reason.com: Looting, throwing rocks, and torching cars and buildings in one’s own community is a stupid, self-destructive way to deal with problems.  (Amen brother.)

Hey, I’m just telling it like is, this may not be PC and it may anger some liberals who are, but I place a higher value on being honest and truthful than being PC.

PS You want to see a really good man who had character and inspired more kids than any modern day politician?  Here, Pie reminded me of him in a comment.   Anyone know who he is?  He’s still alive too…  Willie-Mays-Giants

Damn straight up realism. Thanks Jack.

There’s a connection between Baltimore and Ferguson. People are being used to promote political agendas.

Social media analysis suggests links between Baltimore and Ferguson violence:

“EXCLUSIVE – An analysis of social media traffic in downtown Baltimore Monday has unearthed striking connections to the protests in Ferguson, Mo. last year, according to a leading data mining firm that shared its findings exclusively with Fox News.

The firm, which asked to remain anonymous because of its government work, found between 20 and 50 social media accounts in Baltimore that were also tied to the peak period of violence in Ferguson. While further analysis is being conducted on the data, it suggests the presence of “professional protesters” or anarchists taking advantage of Freddie Gray’s death to incite more violence.

Gray, 25, died April 18, a week after being injured while in police custody. A wave of violence erupted in Baltimore following his funeral Monday.

One account, which also tracked the recent union protests in New York City as well as other disturbances, tweeted photos of Gray’s funeral and used language that seemed to anticipate violence in Baltimore.

The discovery that some social media accounts were tied to cities 825 miles apart was described to Fox News as “surprising.” While it is possible to spoof accounts and make it appear as if someone is in one location when they are really in another, the data mining firm told Fox News that it can’t fully explain the numbers.”

Good comments Peggy! I know exactly who did the data mining, there is only one company with government contracts that do this and they are very close to Chico.

Funny because there are thousands right now down at city hall speaking intelligently about the issues. network TV is not going to have it. Geraldo is the raving joke down here on the streets.

yes we have a problem in the police forces. We need the good cops to speak out. They are afraid to. Baltimore is a police state right now. I had to dodge police searchlights just to walk my dog. Ridiculous.

Sorry but sitting in Chico (I miss CA) and watching network news is not going to teach you anything.

I have been here since late last year. There are many problems. Taxes all diverted to the corrupt, no jobs, manufacturing has been outsourced. Boarded up buildings. What happened in Baltimore is a symptom of the countries problems.

Sorry jack but maybe you need to spend a few weeks here first. Dead Wrong.

So back to an old question you never answered last year. Are you with Obama on the TPP? TPA?

Time to start demanding made in USA and create jobs here or it’s only going to get worse.

    • Post Scripts says:

Dewey, its wonderful that intelligent, rational people exist in Baltimore. That doesn’t mean that stupid don’t exist and in far greater numbers. Stupid people doing stupid things cause everybody else all kinds of trouble, you know it as well as I know it.

Stupid defined: People who burn down occupied houses. People who loot businesses. People who burn police cars. People who throw bricks at cops. People who lie on TV to deliberately incite others to violence. People who take one rare incident and make it look like an everyday incident for their own agenda. People who mismanage criminals and rioters. People who yield to the pressure of the media, thugs, politics, or race baiters.

    • Post Scripts says:

DEWEY SAID: “Time to start demanding made in USA and create jobs here or it’s only going to get worse.”

I am all for made in America goods! But, Dewey have you seen what is applying for jobs these days?

They can’t read, write or even speak a recognizable form of English. Is it any wonder that a Spanish speaking illegal can step up and get that job the loser can’t? And I am talking about whites as well other races here. 99% of the bums on the street in Chico are white and they are totally unemployable…and too many of them consider this a lifestyle!

The fact is, you have to make an modest effort to get a job and too many Americans don’t. This means educate yourself to at least a 5th grade level for reading, writing, and math.

It would help your chances to get a job if you would pull up your freaking pants, take out the metal from your nose/lip/eyebrows, lose the attitude, get a hair cut, be clean, and be prepared to do what your boss tells you do and then don’t steal from him/her once you get the job. If you can do that… you’re employable! If you can’t do that – then don’t blame society, blame yourself.

At one point Mr. Denninger paints with a broad brush, equating conservatives to Republicans, which I don’t agree with. Other than that, he is pretty much spot on.

  11. Harriet says:

There seems to be a war on cops these days. As we were watching news yesterday about Baltimore, An interruption came to tell us about a NY policeman shot in the head. I did not hear of any riots, no one was burning anything down to bring “Justice” to the cop. I say that tounge in cheek of course. Protest is one thing, total destruction is quite another.

    • Post Scripts says:

Harriet it is good to hear from you! You have been absent too long and of course I agree with you 100%, good comments.

  12. Peggy says:

I did not know Liberation Theology was started by the KGB in Russia to infiltrate communism into Christianity. This explains what sitting in Jeremiah Wright’s church did to make Obama a socialist Christian.

Highest Ranking Cold War Defector: The KGB Invented ‘Liberation Theology’:

“In a startling new interview, a 3-star general and former head of Communist Romania’s secret police who defected to the United States in 1978, claims that the Theology of Liberation was the creation of the KGB, who exported it to Latin America as a way of introducing Marxism into the continent.

Ion Mihai Pacepa has been called “the Cold War’s most important defector,” and after his defection, the Romanian government under Nicolae Ceausescu placed two death sentences and a $2 million bounty on his head. During the more than ten years that Pacepa worked with the CIA, he made what the agency described as “an important and unique contribution to the United States.”

He is reported in fact to have given the CIA “the best intelligence ever obtained on communist intelligence networks and internal security services.”

“Liberation theology has been generally understood to be a marriage of Marxism and Christianity. What has not been understood is that it was not the product of Christians who pursued Communism, but of Communists who pursued Christians,” Pacepa said in a recent article.

“I recently glanced through Gutierrez’s book A Theology of Liberation: History, Politics, Salvation (1971), and I had the feeling that it was written at the Lubyanka,” he said.

“No wonder he is now credited with being the founder of Liberation Theology,” he said.

Six years after Pacepa’s defection to the West, the Vatican issued its first of two scathing critiques of Liberation Theology, under the guidance of then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger.

The stated purpose of the first “instruction” was to draw attention “to the deviations, and risks of deviation, damaging to the faith and to Christian living, that are brought about by certain forms of liberation theology which use, in an insufficiently critical manner, concepts borrowed from various currents of Marxist thought.”

The Vatican instruction also warned that the theologies of liberation generate “a disastrous confusion between the ‘poor’ of the Scripture and the ‘proletariat’ of Marx.” In so doing, it said, “they pervert the Christian meaning of the poor, and they transform the fight for the rights of the poor into a class fight within the ideological perspective of the class struggle.”

In Pacepa’s words, Liberation Theology was “deliberately designed to undermine the Church and destabilize the West by subordinating religion to an atheist political ideology for its geopolitical gain.”

    Another source.

Former Soviet spy: We created Liberation Theology:

“Washington D.C., May 1, 2015 / 03:34 pm (CNA).- Espionage deep in the heart of Europe. Secrets in the KGB. Defection from a communist nation. Ion Mihai Pacepa has seen his share of excitement, serving as general for Communist Romania’s secret police before defecting to the United States in the late 1970s.

The highest-ranking defector from communism in the ‘70s, he spoke to CNA recently about the connection between the Soviet Union and Liberation Theology in Latin America. Below are excerpts of the interview. All footnotes were provided by Pacepa.

In general, could you say that the spreading of Liberation Theology had any kind of Soviet connection?

Yes. I learned the fine points of the KGB involvement with Liberation Theology from Soviet General Aleksandr Sakharovsky, communist Romania’s chief razvedka (foreign intelligence) adviser – and my de facto boss, until 1956, when he became head of the Soviet espionage service, the PGU1, a position he held for an unprecedented record of 15 years.”

  13. Chris says:

Hm. That guy seems to think Russia is responsible for everything he doesn’t like:

“Ion Mihai Pacepa has supported United States military action to disarm Iraq. In opposition, large anti-war demonstrations were held in cities across the world. Pacepa contends that these protests were contrived and anti-American, which Russia assisted.[19] Pacepa wrote during October 2003 that it was “perfectly obvious to me” that the Russian GRU agency helped Saddam Hussein to destroy, hide, or transfer his chemical weapons prior to the American invasion of Iraq during 2003.[20] To this end, he claims that an operation for the removal of chemical weapons (“Operation Sarindar”) was prepared by the Soviet Union for Libya, and that such a plan existed and was implemented in Iraq.[20]

According to revelations made by Lt. Gen. James Clapper to the New York Times (October 29, 2003), spy satellites belonging to the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) photographed military vehicles moving from Iraq to Syria with Russian assistance just before the war in Iraq started. In Gen. Clapper’s view, illicit weapons material unquestionably had been moved out of Iraq. At that time, Lt. Gen Clapper was head of NIMA. Now he is the United States Director of National Intelligence.

Subsequently, the Iraq Survey Group did not find any significant holdings of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that were present in the country decades earlier. It issued its findings in the Duelfer report during September 2004.”
