Republicans Hate Their Party!

by Jack Lee

The seeds of discontent have nothing to do with the party platform; it’s been great and in line our founding values.  The problem has been a failure to honor that platform and live up to our idealism.

It has become clear to many Republican voters like myself that it doesn’t matter who we elect because:

  • Government keeps spending more than we take in, despite the extreme dangers ahead.
  • Waste, fraud and abuse continues to grow in every level of our bloated bureaucracy.
  • The Southern border remains unsecure as millions of undocumented people invade America.
  • Despite being blatantly illegal sanctuary cities still defiantly continue.
  • A staggering number of military sub-contractors now operate with little or no accountability or oversight.  (Incredibly dangerous)
  • Money continues to gain more control over legislation and dominate our elections.
  • Many decades have past and somehow Congress still can’t seem to find a simple way for us to pay our personal income taxes.

There are so many broken campaign promises it’s stunning, but the point should be clear by now:  We elected our representatives to take on the most important issues of the day and they failed us miserably, time after time after time after time….  this is why an angry, cynical Donald Trump is winning as an outsider.  The GOP better sober up before their party is over.   I have a feeling this is their LAST chance to reform and it may be our last chance to make them.

Jack: “The Southern border remains unsecure as millions of undocumented people invade America.”

No one is “invading,” and this extremist rhetoric is what’s hurting your party more than anything else.

Immigration is lower than it’s been in twenty years, while deportations are at record highs. This anti-immigrant hysteria isn’t supported by reality. It’s part of a natural but unfortunate human quest to find scapegoats for a society’s problems.

  2. Peggy says:

Trump has tapped into the outrage Republicans feel toward their party. They are fed up with the lying to get elected then acting like progressive Democrats when they get to DC.

Trump’s new poll puts him at 24.9% and I think it’s in part because of his infamous “Your fired” statements from his TV shows. Conservatives and some Democrats want someone to clean up the VA, IRS, etc. by having a commander who will take charge and fire those responsible. Remember Reagan fired the air traffic controllers when they went on strike. No one thought he could do it because of the unions, but the court upheld him.

I can see Trump doing the same with executive actions and the courts uphold his acts as they did with Reagan. Obama has opened the door wide with all of his EOs and I’d expect Trump would take advantage of it.

It would be wonderful for our veterans to receive the medical care they have been denied. That alone would be worth millions of votes.

    Re #1 Chris :

    1) “Immigration is lower than it’s been in twenty years

    Put up or shut up.

    2) deportations are at record highs.

Gee, I wonder why that is? Think about it or don’t.

    2) “

  4. Pie Guevara says:

Don’t bother to reply to the above Chris. Just shut up.

As usual, Chris contorts the truth to fit his lame and snotty political agenda of bashing Jack and Tina.

The devil is, as usual, in the details.

“The flow of illegal immigrants coming to the United States is on the decline, though there is debate about whether the trend is the result of beefed up border security or other factors such as a less-than-robust American economy, according to The Washington Post.

Citing data from the Pew Research Center, the Post reports that immigration flows are at their lowest level in 20 years. The population of illegal immigrants in the U.S. tripled between 1990 and 2007 — to 12.2 million — a figure that has dropped by about 1 million.”

So, only about 11 million have illegally crossed the border lately. No invasion of illegals to see here folks, move along. Jack, you should be ashamed of your “extremist rhetoric” and “anti-immigrant hysteria.”

Chris, as usual, is a braying equus asinus.

  5. Peggy says:

Jack, the new PC word for illegals/illegal immigrants/undocumented aliens is foreign invaders. They are from a foreign country and are invading our country by entering illegally and without permission.

So, your usage of “invade” is accurate.

  6. Tina says:

Jack when millions of people cross our borders without going through the legal process I don’t know what you’d call it if not an invasion. Perhaps Chris could provide us with a substitute single word to describes what’s happening.

The word invasion becomes even more apropos when you consider that some of them are being brought here with our governments help or without going through normal legal procedures.

In fact can we call it “immigration” when so many that come here don’t bother to ask permission and so often disrespect our laws?

A report from 2012 suggests deportation numbers have been manipulated by changes in policy:

In December 2012, John Morton, then-director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), announced that his agency had removed nearly 410,000 illegal aliens that year. Major news outlets, pro-amnesty lawmakers, and other Obama administration allies heralded this apparent milestone as evidence that the border and illegal immigration were now under control.

On the same day, to far less fanfare, Morton also announced the implementation of new restrictions on how the agents and officers working under him could use their authority to enforce immigration laws. They were told to curtail the use of detainers, or immigration holds, which give ICE officers the opportunity to question and take custody of illegal aliens identified after arrest by a local law enforcement agency. This directive built on an earlier memo, issued in June 2011, which ordered ICE agents not to arrest certain broad categories of illegal aliens, including minor criminals, long-time residents, students, parents, caregivers, and a long list of other excepted categories for whom there was otherwise no statutory basis for special treatment. These and other directives have been euphemistically characterized as “prosecutorial discretion.”

This report examines data from a collection of mostly unpublished internal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and ICE statistics, to provide an alternative evaluation of the administration’s record on immigration enforcement that is based on raw statistics rather than pre-packaged press kits.

Obama also insists the economy is getting better by using the same smoke and mirrors.

Illegal re-entry into the US was up under Obama in 2011:

U.S. Department of Justice data obtained from the Transactional Records Access Clearing House shows that prosecutions for attempting to enter the country after having “been denied admission, excluded, deported, or removed” are on pace to surpass 37,100 for the year, an increase of more than 1,200 from 2010. If the trend continues, the Obama administration will have prosecuted more illegal immigrants for illegal re-entry in his first term than George W. Bush’s administration did in his two terms combined. From 2001 to 2008, 111,920 aliens were prosecuted for the crime — 42,465 in Bush’s first term and 69,455 in his second, an annual average of about 10,600 and 17,360, respectively. Obama’s administration is averaging about 34,355 annually and is on pace to surpass 103,000 in his first three years.

This administration cannot be trusted to be straight with the American people on immigration or anything else.

Those, like Chris, who buy Obama’s version of reality are not really interested in solving societal problems. They seem more interested in labeling those who do wish to identify the problems and deeming alternate sources “discredited”.

If republicans win the presidency, hold on to congress, and continue to play the usual Washington DC game they will be toast.

To be fair, the Democrats aren’t doing all that well either.

    • Post Scripts says:

Yes, we have been invaded! When 15 million come here without an invite its an invasion. If any other country in the world suddenly had that many non-native speaking people arrive illegally they would be considered conquered! Rome would have fallen to the barbarians, how could it be otherwise?

As it is, our culture, our values and our idealism have taken a pretty good hit. It’s importance has been lost on a couple of generations of Spanish speaking folks who need to get up to speed with this culture.

I see the negative consequences of this uncheck immigration almost every day in the news, only liberals with their rose colored glasses can’t see it!

However, I think there is hope… IF our new arrivals will just try to stay out of trouble and seek a legal path to citizenship I would have no problem helping them stay and be citizens. However, they have to show they’re worthy by making an honest effort to accept the United States as their home country. I see too many expressing hatred for us instead. However, IF they will throw away that Mexican flag and raise the America flag, it would go a long way with me and most folks.

Lastly, it shouldn’t be asking too much to say, “Leave the corruption, the gangs, the drugs, behind in Mexico and lose the attitude (Mexican Pride BS) too. We only need Americans here. United we stand divided we fall. They can’t come here and form a sub-culture or ask us to change to how they had back in Mexico.

3 political parties in Clowngress these days, not counting the Independents. The GOP, the Demwits and the RINOs.
And they’ve all contracted the dreaded Beltway Bloviating Disease and are only interested in getting re-elected, keeping their perks, $pending other people’s money and to hell with the folks who voted for them.
PAST time to Clean House. And Senate!

  8. Chris says:

Pie, thank you for providing evidence confirming that illegal immigration has decreased under Obama.

Tina, thank you for providing evidence confirming that Obama has prosecuted and deported more illegal immigrants than his predecessor.

Tina: “Jack when millions of people cross our borders without going through the legal process I don’t know what you’d call it if not an invasion.”

“Invasion” implies a hostile enemy attempting to take over a country. You know this. Using this term is a deliberate attempt to inflame.

“Perhaps Chris could provide us with a substitute single word to describes what’s happening.”

What a disengenuous request. You use the term “illegal immigrants” all the time. Why would you need to switch to “invaders?”

  9. Dewey says:

OMG People! The fact is Chris is correct!

Trump building a wall “Trup Wall” Will do nothing.

Take a ride down south and talk to the border patrol about the tunnels! I Know I have family there in San Diego. They dig new ones as soon as the border patrol fills them up with cement. That is where the drugs and other bad stuff comes in.

That wall has been all about contractors wanting contracts for fed $.

The GOP platform is not as listed here.

Koch has put it out in David’s 1980 campaign. Even Jeb tried to say phase out social security again. GW did the same,

We all agree actually on many issues, it is the false way politicians represent what they are dong.

The DEM Establishment is just as bad.

Look at all the Foreign and domestic money going into these campaigns. They want something for that money!

Also realize only native Indigenous people are true Americans by birth we are all from immigrants.

I come from 2 people on the mayflower does that make me anymore American? NO!

I think that if we got rid of these billionaire supported candidates and just worked on the issues we could fix this mess.

Get the Money out and throw away those voting machines! paper ballots.

    Elections are a controlled business.

If I were a conservative I would be pissed off at Rodger Ailes controlling who is on the debate stage by bad polls ignoring margin of error. Fox is not being fair to GOP candidates at all. TV stations controlling an election? We will see if good sense comes before Thursday.

I missed the real GOP debate tonight in NH, will have to catch the highlights.

  10. Dewey says:

BTW “As it is, our culture, our values and our idealism have taken a pretty good hit –

Culture? What is our culture? I see some racism, Lot’s of mass murders, All kinds of stuff that has nothing to do with immigrants.

  11. Tina says:

Dewey: ” What is our culture? I see some racism, Lot’s of mass murders, All kinds of stuff that has nothing to do with immigrants.”

If that’s all you know or see you are sadly deficient. It explains a lot about your opinions and attitudes.

  12. Steve says:

    Jack,

Conservatives have anger but need direction. Nearly all Republicans in Congress claim to be conservative to their constituents, and yet the results of our Republican majority Congress say otherwise.
I went to the heritage foundation for some their scorecard here: http://www.heritageactionscorecard.com//state/state/ca

It gives some insight, but what are conservatives supposed to do if they don’t feel their congressman measures up to their expectations? It’s not like we the people can afford a million dollar race to throw any of the bums out.
