BAIJI, Iraq — On the front lines of the battle against the Islamic State, suspicion of the United States runs deep. Iraqi fighters say they have all seen the videos purportedly showing U.S. helicopters airdropping weapons to the militants, and many claim they have friends and relatives who have witnessed similar instances of collusion.
Ordinary people also have seen the videos, heard the stories and reached the same conclusion — one that might seem absurd to Americans but is widely believed among Iraqis — that the United States is supporting the Islamic State for a variety of pernicious reasons that have to do with asserting U.S. control over Iraq, the wider Middle East and, perhaps, its oil.” Washington Post today
Well, well, well, what a stunning turn of events this is; Iraq doesn’t want us in their country anymore. Seems they think we’re actually supporting ISIS.
Iran has just released a video that shows what many Iraqi’s feared, American’s delivering arms to ISIS. The video is hopefully a fraud put out to weaken US influence in the Middle East, but let’s look at the bigger picture from the average Iraqi’s side of things.
Obama has allowed ISIS to grow from almost nothing to a formidable force during his presidency. When the situation with ISIS became acute and Iraq was almost overrun, Obama’s response was too talk tough, but do almost nothing except to engage in limited air strikes.
As a result ISIS was able to gain control over American weapons and seize many oil production facilities from Iraq to Syria. Obama wouldn’t hit the oil fields or the convoys, despite the fact this was a major source of revenue for ISIS and we were not hitting ISIS command and control locations either. Then we have our NATO ally, Turkey who is obstructing the Kurds and Iraqi forces by blocking supply routes.
When it comes out later that Turkey is heavily profiting from the black market oil, their obstruction to friendly forces against ISIS makes sense. And complicit in this is America. The United States appears to deliberately turn a blind eye to ISIS oil shipments that is contributing to its income so much that it becomes the best funded terrorist organization in the history of the world.
If you were an Iraqi, wouldn’t you be the least bit suspicious of how the world’s super power is prosecuting this so-called fight against ISIS?
But, it gets worse. So, Obama has put forth this weirdly weak effort and he’s talking his baloney about ISIS being a long term problem that must be solved by the beaten down locals who are scared to death of ISIS, then Russia steps up to help their ally in Syria and suddenly they have ISIS on the run! Russia undermines everything Obama has been saying and they expose the black market operation.
The oil convoys are now being hit by Russians and Putin boldly goes to the G20 summit in Turkey and names the people and nations involved in receiving stolen oil. This is a huge embarrassment for us, but little is heard of it inside the USA. Putin calls again, for the US to work with Russian forces, but Obama flatly rejects the offer and instead tells Russia to stay out of our way!
Now, once again, let’s say you are looking at all this from your average Iraqi’s point of view, wouldn’t you be wondering whose side Obama is on? I’m not an Iraqi and I sure am!
To the Iraqi’s Obama is a traitor that is in league with their enemy. Now you know why Iraq doesn’t want America on their soil anymore and why I call Obama our worst president ever! Obama’s policies in the Middle East have been a mix of failures and cover ups…couldn’t be much worse.
