The Media Research Center has a long memory and has dedicted itself to uncovering media bias. Today they reveal disingenuous outrage in the media over that chant at the RNC convention, “Lock Her Up!” One example:
In their lead editorial on July 21, The Washington Post fulminated that Team Trump’s “descent from standard red-meat partisanship to unprecedented accusations of criminality displays contempt for the rule of law and a startling disinterest in fact and reason.”
But as MRC points out their concern for the rule of law is partisan. Remember this:
Take CNN commentator Jack Cafferty, who on October 17, 2005, gushed to Wolf Blitzer about the idea of Karl Rove in prison: “What should Karl Rove do if he is indicted?…He might want to, he might want to get measured for one of those extra large orange jump suits, Wolf, because looking at old Karl, I’m not sure that he’d, they’d be able to zip him into the regular size one.”
Other examples called for perp walks, executions, trials at the Hague, and in one gruesome rant about Dick Cheney’s heart, “rip it out and kick it around and stuff it back in him!”
Any liberal commentator pretending outrage over “Lock her up” is just being completely disingenuous. Any liberal pretending to be civil, above board, or “nice,” is a liar.
