A Curious Thing Happened in Baltimore

Posted by Tina

The Daily Caller has an interesting story today that illustrates the disconnect between administrators and civil rights lawyers and the people who live in Baltimores dangerous neighborhoods:

As Justice Department civil rights lawyers held a meeting to talk about overhauling the Baltimore police department, another group of Baltimore residents gathered to beg the police to fix the crime in their neighborhoods.

Apparently neither group was aware the other was meeting. The citizens were comprised of about 40 people, mostly older black women and business owners who want the police in their neighborhoods.

The other group insisted after reviewing a report that found “the BPD frequently performed unconstitutional stops, arrests and excessive force that led to different outcomes among black citizens,” that “just cleaning up street corners will not work these days.”

I imagine that remark is in response to Trumps ideas for the black community which mirror those of Rudy Giuliani who reduced crime dramatically in NYC as mayor:

Rudy Giuliani has returned accountability to City government and improved the quality of life for all New Yorkers. Under his leadership, overall crime is down 57%, murder has been reduced 65%, and New York City – once infamous around the world for its dangerous streets – has been recognized by the F.B.I. as the safest large city in America for the past five years.

New York City’s law enforcement strategies have become models for other cities around the world, particularly the CompStat program, which won the 1996 Innovations in Government Award from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. CompStat allows police to statistically monitor criminal activity on specific street corners as well as citywide, holding precinct commanders accountable for criminal activity in their neighborhoods. Because this data is updated constantly, it enables the police to become a proactive force in fighting crime, stopping crime trends before they become crime waves that negatively effect the quality of life for neighborhood residents.

When Mayor Giuliani took office, one out of every seven New Yorkers was on welfare. Mayor Giuliani has returned the work ethic to the center of City life by implementing the largest and most successful welfare-to-work initiative in the country, cutting welfare rolls in half while moving over 640,000 individuals from dependency on the government to the dignity of self-sufficiency. In addition, Giuliani has enacted a record of over $2.5 billion in tax reductions – including the commercial rent tax, personal income tax, the hotel occupancy tax, and the sales tax on clothing for purchases up to $110 dollars. In addition, hundreds of millions of dollars have been returned to the private sector as a result of the Mayor’s aggressive campaign to root out organized crime’s influence over the Fulton Fish Market, the private garbage hauling industry, and wholesale food markets throughout the City. These reforms, combined with the fiscal discipline which enabled the Mayor to turn an inherited $2.3 billion dollar budget deficit into a multi-billion dollar surplus, have led the City to an era of broad-based growth with a record 450,000 new private sector jobs created in the past seven years. As news of the City’s resurgence has spread around the nation and the world, tourism has grown to record levels.

Substance! America needs solutions with substance and positive measurable results. The lefts symbolic gestures are killing us!

Trump will take his ideas directly to black voters in Detroit next weekend:

Pastor Mark Burns, a Trump supporter, said in a Trump press release that he would be “speaking at the only African American owned and operated national Christian television network, The Impact Network,” on Saturday morning in Detroit. He’ll be interviewed by Wayne Jackson at Great Faith Ministries.

Burns said in the release that Trump would be answering questions relevant to African Americans, like “unemployment, making our streets safe and creating better opportunities for all,” and then he’ll deliver a speech on policies that “will impact minorities and the disenfranchised in our country.”

Good! Maybe the people in those bad neighborhoods will finally get some help!

    OMG

I just love people living in a small town in California try to comment on Baltimore. BTW the “White” Drug Addicts cause quite a bit of problems everywhere… Especially in “those bad neighborhoods” As they travel to get their methadone nodding out in front of School children.

Trump has no clue how to fix things. Decades of Gentrification, Martin O’malleys Broken windows policing and using “Citystat” Software to profile created the discourse.

Neighborhoods are food deserts. Buildings and businesses everywhere boarded up. Baltimore was a manufacturing town. Residents soend hours on a very poorly ran transportation system to go to work in the suburbs as there are no jobs in the city.

But no worries the Billionaires plan to buy it up and create their mecca soon.

Funny how it is a port and in the DC area and Heroin is HUGE there, many Many white people addicted as well.

ya Think our gov ever stopped dealing drugs? LOL yea Right

The LOL moron nitwit nut case strikes again with incomprehensible, incoherent nonsense. This is the left.

      • dewster says:

        The left? what is that?

You think you know Baltimore? Chico knows all? LOL Small town norcal has not a clue. that Blueberry Pie scores another Epic Fail!

That was a Real View from someone who just left there.

Be glad you have clean water still.

Once again your comment offers nothing but juvenile criticism.

The thing is, we at Post Scripts talk about things going on in the entire world. In our neck of the woods it’s called free speech.

This story is about a convergence in Baltimore: black residents, legal activists, and the police. I found it interesting for reasons you obviously do not fathom.

Your attitude is part of the problem. You are rude. You insult. You imagine boogie men where none exist. And your comments are a mixture of your own broken English style and more erudite prose which I’m sure you cut and paste. If not you are a very smart person pretending to something you’re not just for kicks.

The perpetual victim is always guilty of keeping himself down…you are your own worst enemy.

Precisely. But it is not only the symbolic gestures, it is the agenda and policy.

Insane. When did we decide being offended was a license to bully?

Glad to hear the backlash made the administrator overturn the ban.

When the big flap over the Confederate flag irrupted we warned that the intolerance would lead to other flags (symbols) being banned. The hard radical left wants all symbols obliterated. Mao rid his country of individual identity and tolerance over differences. Our nation is being lured along the same path.

      What a creep show!

      • dewster says:

Bars and Stripes the battle flag? The flag of Treason suits those who hate Equal Rights and Democracy. Of all the Confed Flags they had there was one good one.

        The White Flag of surrender.

        • Tina says:

The history belongs to ALL Americans. Most of us have moved on. Some of us have even family members that fought on either side. Let it go already.

Those who can’t move on should pick another country. I suggest Venezuela or Cuba. You’d probably find them more to your liking.

Meanwhile in classrooms across our country a generation of Brown Shirts are being programmed. Must watch video

Peggy these people make me physically ill. Indoctrinating kids with this crap should be a crime…where’s social services when you need them?

I can only hope that the more sensible, more American, citizens outnumber these creeps.

      • Rick Clements says:

Tina, don’t hold your breath, the Far Left teachers and Professors always end their brainwashing techniques by convincing their young students to ignore the truth and to equate truth as nothing more than toilet paper!

      • Peggy says:

Parents today need to be on top of what’s going on in classrooms and with the administrators of every school, college and university. The video was for a charter school which parents probably thought was providing their kids with a better education than the public schools they would normally have attended.

The only way to expose this school and it’s brainwashing corruption is to spread the information as far and wide as we can.

I hesitate to post the following link. It is filled with a lot of extremely strong and bad language. But since I’ve said that the people with the most power to fix what’s wrong in minority communities is black people. The man in this video is talking straight up to the dysfunction in black communities.

WARNING THE FOLLOWING VIDEO CONTAINS X-RATED LANGUAGE AND HARD CORE REALITIES. IF YOU OFFEND EASILY DO NOT CLICK!!!!! ADULT CONTENT.

    TJ Sotomayor

Criminality, drug use and illiteracy are not problems of color. They are social problems. The dysfunction TJ speaks about applies to anyone stuck in dysfunctional lifestyles and choices. The problems in the inner cities are proportionately severe. It’s good to see people like TJ stepping up to name and own the problems. That’s the first step to solving them. Kudos!!
